Official SSF2T: HD Remix General Discussion Thread

it’s fixed, as in, newest builds have it removed. do you ever remember being forced to update your beta? of course you don’t. you are still playing the same version. So of course it’s still going to work. they fixed it, it wont be in final version

Is there a site with all of ST’s matchups documented in detail(in English)? After checking the SRK wiki, it feels like a tall request.

Pretty old but still good. Just change some characters according latest japan tierlist (O. Hawk moving up etc.) and go got it up to date.

PS. This is a japan matchup list. IMO they expect you to do everything w/ your character. If you cant do ToD machine upper combo w/ DJ, your stats in matchups where he has to get upclose go down.

Thanks for the info. But I meant more along the lines of “Character A needs to do this against Character B. But be careful because Character B can do this to counter it.”

WTF i got neg repped for some bug i mentioned. People need to chill the fuck out. My fault for not understanding, damn.

Rioting Soul: I think the match-ups might change a little bit, or at least a list like you’re looking for will be changed a bit but I’m sure there will be info for it when it comes out.

Who cares about rep.

The people that actually take the time to give rep are the one’s who actually care/fail.

Here comes more neg rep for me.

Also, I read something in another thread about the game being released on the SF4 disk as well as Live and PSN.

Is this true?

I don’t think it is.

Somebody posted that on the SF4 boards, there’s no truth to it at all. It makes no sense.

The ONLY scenario in which that might happen is that the budget has gotten so high on SFHD that they can’t make money on it through live. Even then that’s a longshot.

It doesn’t even make sense in that scenario either. When the SF2: HD Remix crowd doesn’t get news in awhile they really start to create the most retarded crackpot theories, and then the rest of the crowd takes it as truth, ensuing a 6 page debate that causes Sirlin to post “Guys never said that.”

Hopefully well get some screens today with e3 being open. (No reason we wouldn’t. NEW CHARACTER ART!!)

EDIT: Capcom’s keynote is at 7:30pm EST tonight.

GUYS!

Aren’t you tired of reading uninformed theory fighter posts about tweaked characters (that no one has played) and nonsensical rants about the evil of patches? I sure am!

How about we talk about Netcode? You know, the whole point of this beta. I’d very much like El Senor Sirlin to give us some info on how it’s progressing.

A: Are changes made regularly and tested while people are playing the beta (ie:server-side tweaks)?

OR

B: Is this technically impossible and you guys are just gathering info and making a single change before releasing the final game?

I can’t possibly be the only person curious about this. David S., are you forbidden from discussing it or something?

**C: **Why is it taking so long for Backbone to cut a check to Ponder?

Sorry…couldn’t resist.

Q: If Gozulin had read the the threads, would he have found out that you can’t update betas on Live without going through a recertification process, which takes up to two months, meaning there will not be an update to the beta?

A: Yes!

Q: If Gozulin had read the the threads, would he known that Sirlin rarely posts here and when he does he cannot reveal new information because that’s controlled by Capcom PR?

A: Yes!

Q: Do only jackasses use color and bolding to convey their smug sense of importance when the issues they are bringing up have been discussed to death in this and the previous thread?

A: Yes!

I did read the thread, honored friend. Client-side code and server-side settings are not necessarily subject to the same restrictions and I have no way of knowing whether they are. As someone who actually works with software, the idea of not being able to tweak and watch the effects in real time with the large beta population seems awfully constraining and counter-productive. I may have overestimated Microsoft’s helpfulness regarding netcode.

My handsome and esteemed forum-poster, Sirlin said he read all the posts and I know he posts infrequently (having read this thread, contrary to your hasty assumptions). I do not know what is controlled by Capcom’s PR and what isn’t as I do not have the good fortune of working with them. I am glad that you do, however.

I suspect that DS may not mention GGPO or 2DF at all but that’s about it. We were appraised of the 8 week delay in the certification process, the reasons for delays (art not done) and many other things that end-users are generally not privy to, for which I heartily commend Backbone and Capcom-unity staff. claps vigorously

Most honest and loyal friend, I deeply apologize if my use of color and bold disturbed your wa and assaulted your delicate senses. It would be my pleasure to offer you some soothing Chai and feed your illustrious stomach if you ever honor me by visiting my home.

I prostrate myself before you and beg for your forgiveness and continued friendship.

Your Truly,

A dude on the internet.

Fixed

Gouzlin almost made a funny.

There’s already been like 2 of these threads and each one has so many posts that I’m not surprised that people don’t understand how much anything about this game works. Even with the beta there’s still plenty about the game that people simply won’t know or understand till the game comes out. ST heads are just trying to put shit together way too soon when they have no idea what else there is to come. Ideally everyone should just calm the hell down, find another game to play and wait for the full release of the game…but that wouldn’t be any fun.

For those that are playing the beta I hope they find it enjoyable and I definitely hope it gives Sirlin some insight into what to do for the final release. I’ll just pray that the actual game doesn’t have too many bugs and the menus and transitions between modes online are pretty smooth. Probably won’t be…but we’ll see. I’m not even gonna get started on the “balance” of the game. I don’t know enough or care enough about ST to really go on about that and everyone’s throwing around what they think and they have no idea what they’re in for. Personally I think it’s best at this point to let the game come out and then use that to base what needs to be done to fix the game from there. I’m sure with time Sirlin will be able to go in again and do what he has to do.

OMG NEWS!

The Capcom e3 conference is starting, let’s hope they show something for HD Remix.

I personally can’t get any of the live feeds to work but I like this kotaku live blogging the most:

Total what the fuck moment, Capcom didn’t discuss a single game, only their movie adaptations. Very weird.

This has been a pretty strange E3 overall, from what I can tell not being able to go this year. There’s a sense that publishers are kind of feeling out the waters this year as far as how to treat it as a platform for announcing/showing stuff. I know a lot of folks in the industry appreciated this time of year being ratcheted down (press for not having nearly as much shit to cover…devs for not having to crunch on a stupid “E3 build”).

Too bad id doesn’t have the relevance it had 10-ish years ago, or else the EA announcement would have been just as ZOMG as Square/MS’s.

RE5 trailer looked dope…Mad Max btfw!

…not to get away from STHD talk. More STHD talk.

more like Capcom follows suit. let’s not even mention Street Fighter, let’s talk about a movie for an hour based off of a game that didn’t sell well and was reviewed as average. This is a great marketing idea!

I really don’t know what else to say. Maybe you want to talk about your best efforts, and maybe you’re totally retarded. I rest my case.

I agree that E3 may put a bit too much pressure on game developers to have something ready for gaming industry members to play every summer. I don’t even follow new games much so the last thing I’m gonna do is wonder what Capcom has to say at E3. When the game comes out is when I’ll care what Capcom has to say. Which probably won’t be much even after the game is released. I’m just looking forward to a good SF game in the next few months.
