Yeah but the fact that the beta ran for 2 months and it was supposed to be out last fall, I don’t mind waiting the extra time.
I DO
Will an xbox360 with 256mb harddrive be wnough to download this game /noobishness
I didnt see it in the FAQ. Thanks!
you mean memory card. know one knows for sure how big the game is
It’s better to get the game right then have it early. With STHD, I took the Paradox approach “It will be ready when it’s ready.”
We have a ton of fighters that got rushed, but not many that are actually good and well crafted.
Maybe. It’s definitely bigger than 150M, but smaller than 350M.
Also, just like I figured:
Guess Capcom’s got a little pull on the queue for Live.
Wow, can’t believe it’s finally going to see release, and a lot sooner than I personally expected it.
So is there any set price for it yet or are we all left to be surprised when it’s up?
I think there is more to it than that. I think the release queue list is really big. Reason i think that is because MS has been releasing 3 games a week lately, which is unheard of. Whether or not I’m right, one thing is for sure, it DOES speed up the list, A LOT!
$10 or $15. Considering how well BC sold (130k in first week), and how well HF sold (250k?), it might actually push Capcom to drop it at $10. Of course, without knowing what the development budget ended up being, who knows? Fuck, I’d buy it at $20, it’s still less than the $50 I’ve dropped for every damn revision back in the day from SNES to now.
Well, Sven did pimp SFHD’s “special status”. But you’re right, who gives a shit for the real reason as long as we get the game sooner.
I’d guess within the next couple of weeks we’ll see a big media push to get people hyped again, like they did with Bionic Commando. Dev diaries, full gameplay videos, how to play tutorials, etc.
I doubt it will be anything less then the MAX of $20. Quite simply, the budget is too big, and they know that we’re going to buy it anyways. Since it will be considered “legitimate” , it will get less bitching then Braid got.
Basically, for them not to sell it at $20, they’d have to expect a $10 version to sell twice as well.
I don’t think there’s a large market of people willing to pay $10 for STHD but not $20.
No, were not going to have to wait and see. It’s a fact that XBL > PSN. This is not a matter of opinion.
^^ i’m glad someone agrees with me. ~.~
Psn > xbox live
very drunken post
Here’s the thing- hopefully the SFHD netcode is good enough, and the game has enough players, that it doesn’t matter which service is better.
“Early?” At this point, the only reason it can’t be considered “late” is because it never had an official release date.
Not that it matters to us, since I imagine most of the people in this thread (myself included) plan on picking the game up at some point, but for casual gamers, this game has had a lot of time to sink below the radar.
Yeah, but all it takes is a month of hyping to put it back on their radar.
I mean, look at Bionic Commando:Reloaded. That’s a crazy sellthrough for a 20 year old title, and SF2 has far more nostalgia value than BC.
Regarding PSN vs XBL if people are going to start spouting ignorance in here…
We are comparing the two specifically for SFHD, and I guess also the eventual SF4, and then to a lesser extent other (online-enabled) fighting games. If you care about other game genres or console wars or whatever, that’s cool, some of us don’t.
I do think it’s inarguable that XBL is superior with its integrated player-finding tools and stuff; it’s easier, and it makes the player-base feel much more like one big community. However, it costs to use it. (Yes it’s not much.) PSN is free, really isn’t that bad, and it’s still getting better. Hell, some people don’t want everyone else in the world to know what and where they’re playing at any given time. More people use voice chat on XBL, some people don’t LIKE voice chat. All this shit is a matter of opinion and personal preference, and the games themselves are the same.
How laggy a fighting game is depends wayyy more on the players’ connections and the particular title’s netcode than whether it’s on PSN or XBL. I don’t know if either model’s infrastructure actually makes one faster than the other, and I don’t know if anyone else does yet. SC4 is online for both consoles, but I heard the netcode is shaky period. SFHD will be our first real chance to really hold them up to each other and compare this facet.
Who is playing matters a lot to most of us. I’m not a particularly great ST player, but I don’t want to be stuck on one console if 99% of the good players are using the other one. A recent SRK poll says that 60% of us prefer PS3, to the 360’s 40%. This suggests there actually may end up being more of us on PSN than XBL in the end, and SRK definitely represents the largest concrete repository in the world of skilled SF2 players who are interested in playing online.
If anybody ALREADY has a comprehensive list of which skilled SF2 players own which next-gen console, I want to fucking see it. And so does everyone else.
If you want to organize and post some advantages of one over the other, that’s awesome, that’s what we’re interested in. If you’re going to tell me you know the future, buy an old trailer, start chain-smoking, grow an ugly fucking wart on your face, and get rich touring with the carnies as a fortune-teller.
I’d really like to know the answer to this… I have both systems and would like to know which one to play on.
First, your points about how not every one likes voice chat and knowing when they’re on and what they’re playing is stupid because both of those can be turned off.
So really the only thing your arguing is the player base. Well, I don’t need to be a fortune teller to tell you that there is no way in hell 99% of good players will be on one service and not the other.
The fact is that XBL has a MUCH bigger pool of players. More players = more comp.
As far as 60% of people on SRK preferring the PS3 version, that really doesn’t matter. Whether people want to admit it or not, most of the people on SRK, are actually not that good at street fighter. Especially older versions like ST.
Just take a look at HF that was released on XBLA. Despite being a laggy piece of shit it still managed to form a nice group of competitive players. A lot of those players never even heard of SRK, yet would absolutely destroy most of the people on here.
Even if 90% of the people on SRK (which will not happen) play exclusively on the PSN version, XBL will still have good comp.
In the end though, it really doesnt matter, both systems should have a good amount of comp, and I’m only choosing the XBL version because it’s the superior online service.
Thats true about how a lot of people on SRK aren’t even as good as they claim on the message boards. The best players are the ones that rarely post and don’t waste time complaining and comparing in threads. I won’t name names, but some of the most dedicated posters on this site were easy to take out in online matches.
