I played The World Ends with You. I’m reasonably certain that Resonance of Fate will look like The Lord of the Rings by comparison.
After watching a roommate play through the prologue, this game looks dope as hell. The aesthetic is really, really pleasant to me. I have a weakness for claustrophilic urban settings. Reminds me of Battle Angel. I fuckin’ cried at that movie.
status update, done every side mission so far, have 3 pistols, 2 SMGs, can finally make grenades, my lvls are 39/39/38, 38 hours in, and I’m only on chapter 5 at the moment haha
Edit: Oh I also got an achievement for clearing half of all gray hexes on the world map.

This game is baller status. I’m at Chapter 3 now, and I’m hooked.
I’m on Chapter 3. I still have the same default weapons. I’m wondering if I should have a new weapon by now? There’s that one handgun for 100k rubies, and I saw some nice stuff in the Arena.
Anyone else kill the power plant boss in chapter 2 fairly quickly? The boss ignored my Zephyr, who is my scratch damage dealer. I split up my party and had Zephyr alone while Vash and Leanne stayed together. The boss kept picking on Leanne. I was afraid I was going to lose, but when I saw that the boss was wide open, I just went in and wailed on it, and ended up doing a ton of scratch damage to the body.
the boutique had some aviators for Vash, bought that shit ASAP.
Well chapter 3 is the earliest you could probably afford that gun in the shop, chapter 5 is the soonest you can find another gun(though only if you like to search every possible new area you unlock), and I think the rest you come across later on in either a shop or story.
I have 3 pistols(one from the shop) and 2 SMGs(one from a dungeon) and I’m on chapter 6

Basically you a lil band of mercenaries… I’m doin some jobs for some really rich folks rigt now… Th older guy zephryn seems to be motivated by money… The girl is looking for a star to grant happiness… Not sure about the other kid…
They seem to be episodes in thier life not a complete story… it’s pretty cool to me so far…
Yeah, the story isn’t really fleshed out in the beginning. We get a scene of Vashyron fighting against some random dude in the pre-game menu, we know that Zephyr saved Leanne’s life but we don’t know how they survived the fall. Vashyron obviously has a history with all the government and high profile types. Other than that, there are hints to corruption within the government and most of the story (from what I have played) are simply episodes in the mercenary group’s daily outings.
While it is certainly not an epic as of yet, it’s definitely a nice change of pace from the usual RPG where they bombard you with “save the world or everyone/thing dies” story near the beginning of the game. I like just seeing the various characters act around one another while doing their jobs, though some of the dialogue is incredibly cheesy (i.e. everything Leanne says in the prologue of the story).
hard to say, the main story or whatever is really vague so far. I’m only on chapter 6 out of 16 but yeah. The story is a lot more episodic than any other RPG I’ve played. It’s actually kind of refreshing, and has great characters for the most part, but I can see why many people don’t or wouldn’t like it.
It’s kind of like Cowboy Bebop in story presentation, where everything is like a standalone type of deal thus far. I’m on chapter 3 at the moment, battles are too fun.

I also love how everything is pretty much in game graphics and they wear whatever you put on them in cutscenes. The lighting is really good too, I finished a battle killing one of those barrel spider things and as it did zyhpers win animation it exploded somewhere off screen and lit up his face, thought that was pretty cool.
also, is there anyways to save other than going back to your crib or hitting an energy station outside a dungeon? I think mass effect 2 and bioshock 2 on pc spoled me with instant saves anywhere…
You can use a station hex to create an energy station anywhere on the world map.
Chapter 5 is the earliest you can get another SMG. When you start the chapter, go aaaaall the way down on the levels as you can go to level 9. A dungeon mine called the Dakota Vein has an SMG in a treasure chest there. It’s guarded by two very large lvl50 enemies though so save before you go in.
ahhh I’m like lv 16 right now o_o
don’t let the level numbers fool u a bit, heck the chapter 6 boss was level 60 and you had to beat it with 2 people, and my characters are lvl 30 each. took around 10-15 minutes of juking and jiving to win that fight,
