cvs2 machine broke for a good part of the day. Fight started and no controls responded. Finally fixed when someone decidied to turn it of and on again.

I vote for Rumble Fish or the new Fist of the North Star fighter. I also would love for VF4 to be there but no one would play it. 
I know ST is a great game but it just doesn’t appeal to me (matches end way to quickly) and I’m not sure if people would play that game either. It would be nice to have the Japanese SFA3 that has all the characters from the Dreamcast and PS version, I forgot the exact name of that game (Crazy Capcom with its million and one subtitles and versions.)

I think sf state just need to focus on getting ggxx back. I haven’t seen our ggxx regulars in the longest time <.<
As for new game, I don’t think neither ST/AE or SFA2/3 would be profitable…I would vote for the new fist of north star game since it’s fresh and similar to ggxx. But that’s a gamble now since we have no idea if that’s a hit or miss type game for sammy and probably expensive. Might end up as another rumble fish.
Wishful thinking all right…we aren’t going to see VF4/Rumble Fish 2/Fist of the North Star or Act Cadenza…UNLESS we all or most of us give our input that we want it directly…instead of “wishing.”
Rumble Fish is still being played in JPN, Chinatown Fair in New York has that AND Act Cadenza right now…even VF4:FT for the longest time and they are all doing very well there.
I am very sure that ppl will play these games because they are new, even people who don’t know a thing about it will be attracted to them. If any games, VF4:FT for sure (because out of all those 3 games, VF still has a group of players in the US) and Act Cadenza (for the anime-o-philes, which is a pretty large group at state) should be considered.
Guilty Gear automatically needs to be brought back because we had a big group of ppl for it, and they have left because no sign of Guilty Gear is there…
OCEguy/Poolboss - Don’t worry if “they’re doing well” because I am sure these games WILL do well at State, and people from Berkeley and SJSU…even Diablo Valley College are waiting for SF State to get GG Slash because they’ve heard it first that we were going to get it…ppl will travel to come and play, guaranteed. If VF4:FT gets here, the group of VF players in San Francisco will most likely be revived again, (10-15+ ppl) and the people who know their fighting games at state will get into it.
Long post…but I also spoke to some ppl at State today, and they also expressed interest on the 2v2 tournament, even though they don’t post (but they know about this board) and I’m sure SVGL and others will be travelling here to play.
EDIT - KOFXI (11) is also already a given…there is a big SNK group here too.
Nice post jeff, not sure if you’re defending rumble fish there but ggxxslash, kof xi, and melty blood should be highly considered for state. All those games are imports so it might be costly for oce so i’m not gonna hold my breath for those games.
I’ll be at state tomorrow, probably around 1 or later. Trying to catch the “lunch time” comp. Anyone up for some 3s tomorrow?

Well. If it costs a lot, and there are people going to play, even out of towners as well, it’ll be fine.
GG Slash should be there ASAP because the regulars are going to just assume it’ll never come and not even waste their time to check…and we aren’t that close, I only know 3-4 ppl that’ll play it EXCLUSIVELY, the many others just play for the fun of it.
Out of all the games mentioned, I would seriously take up VF4:FT to learn and play competitively. I guess what we need to do is make up a ballot with games and have folks start voting. We could put it up on the internet or make a physical ballot. Poolboss what do you think?
