And as far as Saturday is concerned, an Arcade or event should have some sort of reputation before expecting any huge crowds.
Last time I went to a tourney on Saturday was NCR1 a few years ago, but that when I wasn’t working.
And the people I talk to don’t generally go to tourneys but were interested.
But really, Poolboss, there should be weeklies or every other week(lies).

weeklies could happen if you want them. It would have to be pay-to-play, but I could produce brackets and flyers.
The difficulty is bringing the people. Also, I must regretfully admit, they key to Bearcade’s weeklies, I suspect, is due to the staff there already plays and know the fighting games, whereas myself and my staff are only familiar with pool.
That could be why you see pool tournaments every friday and not video game. I know most of our pool players, so it’s easy for me to commit them to show up regularly.
I think the thing is that the total amount of people who actually goes to State or lives around there that goes to RnC is very little compared to other arcades. If there are weeklies here I don’t think people from other places will come every week for that, weeklies will usually just be filled with ones that goes there practically a few times a week.
I don’t think RnC has enough regulars to hold weeklies, I mean even that ‘bigger’ tourny we had last week only had 10 for 3S, and that was people from other places INCLUDED. T5 was the only game that had a good amount of people. I think that for now maybe Monthlies will be the best choice. Just my 2 cents.
PS - I’m going there tomorrow, better have people playing 3S.
I agree with Sillie. Stick to monthlies. If we really build a decent size of regular players at SFSU, then we can go to weeklies. But our player population is not that big. It has to be sizable cause if there are 10 regular players, only 5 players are likely to show up at a weekly. Hardly any local players came to the tourney.

There are way more than just 10 people who play 3s at state, and I now (or assume) most people don’t read this thread, or care for unmotivating type-outs on the change machine.
I haven’t played a Remy or Yun in weeks, so I dont’ even think you guys are their when I am; there are move than just 10 (3s) players at State, and I don’t think they’re been advertized to properly;
That glass pane, or a horizontal (long) poster above then opening to enter on all three side , should have signs to see.

duly noted. Flyers will be improved for next tournament. However, I must add that word-of-mouth provides the best advertisement.

On another note, some of the sfsu players I talked to before the tourney didn’t know about the tourney or didn’t know til the last min and was too late to call in. Maybe we need better flyers or place them somewhere better. I can also help post some flyers at ccsf also. Gotta be some players there.
