That Magmar set looks decent, but as xlxlxlxl said, you’ll have major problems with Jellicent. I bet with some Sun support, it could do pretty good with the right teammates. Still worried about all the stuff that kills Fire though… Earthquake, Stealth Rock, Bulky Waters, Weather abuse, etc…
So I recently started playing Black… picked it up. Idk how to run pokegen so i was wondering if anyone would make me a team? just all lvl20s… I don’t have AR either so i wouldn’t be able to put them in my game.
Now I haven’t gotten itno Gen 5 but I have been following some things. I really want to run evolite torment dusclops:
Torment
Night Shade
Protect
Pain Split
Will figure out EVs later since I forget what this ghost’s stats are.
I do want to update my old teams and see if they can hang in Gen 5 despite the changes. I’d love to redo my Hail team now that Cloyster is OU…
Sent from my stash via Diablotalk
^ Health is turrible…
252 EVs in that…
Split the EVs for Defense and Sp. Defense however you want…
Using torment then protect is straight evil…
I still prefer taunt, dusclops is mad easy to get free stat boosts on though…
It takes prediction to use pain split…
Also OHKO moves(like horn drill and the like) are hella gay… some nigga ragequit after I came back with a Choice Specs Alakazam after OHKOing two of my pokemon…
Quite a few Japanese people were running those damn sets(Abomasnow+Sheer Cold)…
You don’t need AR… just use that PokeGen, make your own and send them to yourself using this…
You also need a program called Python to open .py files…
After that the instructions that IR-GTS gives you should be self explanatory…
But seriously, just beat the game legit first, then do you… hella new stuff that got introduced is broken anyway… abuse it imo…
The idea (based on what WS has done) was to torment a choice move, take the hit and they’re forced to hit struggle and hurt themselves. you protect the choice move then pain split when you can. the stats make it now almost a ghost shuckle but problem is due to lack of leftovers recovery now pain split is the ONLY way to heal so wish support is suggested.
only got one chance to roll it way back but it did its job

The Magmar is doing good against UU tier pokemon, but the upper tiers are just merking it, no prob… still better than Magmortar though… other Pokemon can just do his job as a special attacker better… like Solar Power Charizard…
I’m thinking about making a Belly Drum Snorlax, but it seems mad gimmicky…
252 HP 252 Defense Chesto Berry
Belly Drum
Brick Break
Earthquake
Rest
Although I’m thinking about using Wish/Baton Pass/Acid Armor/Substitute Vaporeon… and put 252 EVs into the Sp. Def instead to give me ample time to set up…
In that case though the set would look more like this
252 HP 252 Special Def. Choice Band Adamant
Belly Drum
Brick Break
Earthquake
Return
This set just asks to be fucked up by Jellicent(damn ability) so I’ll probably have to use Vaporeons water absorb to set my nigga Snorlax up twice…
Skarmory could also wall this set, so I’m thinking about switching out Return with Fire Punch…
I don’t know what specific threats you’re hoping to deal with using that Snorlax, but maybe replace BB with Crunch to deal with Jellicent? You’d still be Skarm bait without Fire Punch, though.
I figured it wouldn’t do to great against OU…
Everything just hits so damn hard now, even without Choice items. When base 100 stats are ‘below average’ you know shits gotten somewhat out of hand.
Has everyone seen the new CoroCoro leak? Looks like some Forme changes are coming for a certain trio…
I did. So the Genies new forms will change their stats, and Thundurus gets even more special attack. If Thundurus keeps Prankster, Smogon might ban it even before the games come out.
Also the return of Brock make me smile.
Are they ever going to air that Team Rocket vs Team Galactic episodes? I mean I know why they didn’t. I just always wanted to see something that awesome in the anime. Not trying to be mean or anything with the question too. Just wanted to see Team Rocket wreck there asses.
And holy shit Giovanni’s back in Black & White 2!!! Even Vegeta I mean a certain dragon trainer from the original E4!!! Does this mean team rocket is back and in the game???

I’ve been sort of teaching some of my friends how to play on Pokemonshowdown, I’m just so glad that almost everything from Generation 4 still works in 5, which allows me to copy and paste teams.
Any stat boosting sweeper with a recovery move sets up for free. You’d better have checks to Dragonite, Reuniclus, Morning Sun Volcarona and a way to handle Smash Pass at the very least. Sub seeders don’t care about this set either.
one pkmn isn’t enough, I’m well aware of that. My style is never about stat boosting pkmn or sweeping. I still play defensive stall teams primarily. I can tackle these pkmn and many others but best I can say is theory tossing out pkmn here and there because I haven’t actually been able to play Gen 5. I also like gimmicks and am good at surprising.
it says the IR-GTS is on hiatus :l
Huh?
http://code.google.com/p/ir-gts/downloads/detail?name=ir-gts-bw-v0.05.zip
Just dl that…
Open it up after downloading python(version 2 series)…
Then you can open it up and you’ll see this command prompt telling you to change your DS DNS server to (whatever numbers show up), so do that(Go to wifi settings on your DS and tell it not to automatically retrieve DNS and type in what they told you under primary DNS)…
Then follow the other instructions…
But you have to type the file pathway yourself though… that drag-n-drop feature got broken when they updated IR-GTS…
If you want to find out the pathway, right click the file you’re want the pathway for and click properties…
It’s easier if you just keep em on the desktop or in a convenient folder… that way you can remember eventually the pathways without having to look at every 2 seconds… no copy and pasto bro…
EDIT: Creating legitimate pokemon is a bitch and a half though… I always make sure mine are completely legit… if not then I delete them…
I won’t even play single player with non-legit pokemon lol…

^Awesome, but got copyright kill’d for being an early leak. Here’s IGN’s upload:

All aboard the hype train!
^ Damn son…
Trailer goes hard…
I’ll let go of the fact that Lucario threw an aura sphere at a nigga that is weak to the move in two different ways, and the nigga(Bisharp)just brushed it off…
I think imma hold off on this one though… I want a Gen 6… cannot come to early imo… make the brokeness of this gen look like nothing in comparison…
And while they’re at it, they need to buff all of the old Pokemon so they are worth using again(like how they gave charizard the Solar Power ability)…
I’ve been so busy with school that I haven’t had the time to really battle people and get up my videos.
This GEN is really, really broken though. Tanking requires full strategic execution because everything hits so damn hard it’s not even funny. Just think about it: Darmantian, for example, is UU but has a whopping 140 ATK base. His ability, Sheer Force, raises secondary effect moves by 30%. Can you imagine getting hit by this thing with a choice band, sheer force, AND maxed ev invested attack stat?! And, he has a 95 speed base, which is actually pretty decent considering its bulk.
With Thundurus Uber, I think Zapdos should get his OU title back. The only reason it fell to UU is because there was absolutely no reason to pick it over Thundurus. He doesn’t like SR, but there are new ways to get around that now.
Zapdos is still UU because, as you said, nothing can really take a hit anymore. Between weather boosted stab attacks and bullies like Terrakion running around, Zapdos doesn’t really have a place anymore. I think he would have been OU if DW Zapdos with Lightning Rod was released. It would have been a hard counter to Thundurus. I used Jolteon with SpD evs to check Thundurus when it was still around.
I wish Stealth Rock was replaced with an Ice variant instead. It could be called Black Ice or something. I think it would help to make Dragons less powerful and make Fire, Ice, and Bug type pokemon more viable.
This is just a generalize statement since I don’t know the intriccies of this wakadoo metagame, but you also have to realize that you’re not playing a moveset, you’re playing a person. Since Infernoman’s set has clear counters, one would assume he’s smart enough to know when to utilize it and also can infer that most people might not expect it, since it’s counterintuitive to the standardize set(s) or because the pokemon is UU or w/e.
Por Ejemplo: Back in the last gen I developed probably the jankiest Dragonite ever for my Trick Room team:
Dragonite: w/ Iron Ball
Forgot Nature/ EVs (very specific)
Outrage
Fling
Dragon Dance
Fire Blast/ Roost/ Brick Break (for Heatran)
With Iron Ball Draggy’s speed is halved and also becomes a pure Dragon type getting a significant resistance to the 3 main elements + a x2 weakness to Ice which threw off the the calculations of most players who expected higher damage and lessened the effects of STEALTH ROCK (fuck Stealth Rock); allowing her to be used both mid-game and late game if my Trick Roomer(s) died off. Back when Cresselia was a threat Iron Ball/ Fling served as an unexpected hard hitting move (130 base power Dark move) that I didn’t have to be locked into, especially late game when a Cresselia was hovering near half life and expected she could tank. Then I could DD up with relatively normal speed and sweep.
So movesets and Pokemon require team synergy to be successful, since I would be hard pressed to use this Dragonite in any other scenario.
Any metagame where Zapdos is UU is terrifying and confusing to me. Why GF WHY?!
