I would go on PO more, but I still feel like the RNG is all fucked up on it. There’s just no way there would be so many fully para/crits/random freezes in one match, but it seems like every match all that happens to me.
My Ferrothorn got frozen and critically hit in the same turn by an Ice beam, then got critically hit again for the KO in a battle yesterday. Nintendo should seriously do away with crits, freezes, and the 10% chance to status on moves like Thunderbolt and Flamethrower.
Shit happens…
I’ll try PO and see is it the same deal for me…
It seems like everytime I play a pokemon game and get poison stung that I come down with a status effect… but I doubt it has anything with probability changing on you, you just got unlucky…
For example, just because you flip a coin and get more heads than tails doesn’t mean the probability of getting either heads or tails changed, you just simply got more heads than tails…
Such is life…
Well yeah, I know it’s just Pokemon being dumb.
But I very well remember a VGC 2010 match I was playing where I got hit by Blizzard, and both of my dudes got frozen, and another got crit’d. Or getting crit’d 3 times in a row in a match not long after that. Even missing Fire Blast 6 times in a row in an Advance match. It’s just that (it seems like) Shoddy did a better job at simulating the RNG of a real match comparatively to PO. Too bad I don’t believe there’s a 5th gen Shoddy since Smogon just moved over to PO instead.
Yeah, there’s no Gen V Shoddy. The simulator I linked above is being developed by Smogon peoples, I believe.
RNG just hates you sometimes. I remember spectating a match where one player stayed frozen for about 8-9 turns or something ridiculous before dying.
I’m replaying Soul Silver right now and changed the internal clock so I can collect the items from the siblings of the week, but they won’t show up.
What went wrong and how do I fix it?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.
I think you have to walk inside of a building and walk out after you change the clock…
Try walking inside of a pokemon center and walking out after you do it…
When I was changing seasons in pokemon black, I did this…
No, unfortunately that didn’t help.
I also tried letting the clock turn from 23:59 to 00:00 again, but that didn’t work either.
I think if you change the date it takes a certain amount of time for all date-related events to come back. Like a week.
WS - fave pokemon: Steelix, Ludicolo, Lanturn, Metagross (Shiny ver HELL YES!) Blaziken, Blastoise.
Im gonna play black and white 2 seeming I didnt really get into the them… Weather teams are so prominent now I honestly wish arcanine got drought instead of ninetales -_-
I saw this team and I really like it though I want victini in there somewhere tbh
Sun Teams are the hardest to build, but they are the most fun and most rewarding. I still stand by that Moltres+Drought/Sunny Day+Overheat+Specs is the closes thing to a Supernova these games are going to get.
Prankster Sableye is full on retarded…
I use one in my team, but seriously, this shit is mad broke…
And has no weaknesses…
Priority recovery, Priority will-o-wisp to reduce attack, priority trick to switch a lagging tail to opponent, and priority taunt to keep opponent from inflicting status effects or stat boosting…
Stupid stupid stupid…
Whose idea was this? The only pokemon that can’t be afflicted with burn is fire-pokemon…
Toxic Spikes, Pokemon with Guts, Magic Guard, Gliscor, Heatran, Strong Special Attackers, Magic Bounce…
Poison Heal Gliscor Doesn’t care about any of his usual moves, and can Toxic him with fling.
Guts Conkeldurr Payback does 53.4 - 63.8% to 252/252 Hp/Def+ Sableye. Smogon’s standard OU Sableye is 252/120 Hp/Def
Jolly Guts Heracross Megahorn does 81.3 - 96.1% to the same Sableye.
The following calculations assume 252/136 Hp/SpD+
252 SpA Timid Starmie does 85.2 - 100% with Hydro Pump in Rain
67.4 - 79.9% with Surf in Rain
Modest Specs Toed OHKOs with Surf
0 SpA Heatran does 84.8 - 100% with Fire Blast and Sun or a Flash Fire Boost
56.3 - 66.4% with Lava Plume under the same conditions.
Pokemon showdown server is pretty sick ive been on it for a while now beasting with my sun team
Its dumb how op weather is in this game… when did it become all about the weather :o
I was actually imagining the game with and Milotic Arcanine (lol Morning Sun. And when did it get Close Combat?!) as the weather starters instead. Entei and Suicuine would be pretty interesting as weather starters as well.
Man no one knows how to run shit. It’s not that hard nor should it be. The issue with weather is that it’s not balanced. Water (as stated by WS every gen) is too powerful. Til something (again WS says poison should > water) changes, weather won’t be balanced. SS is bad too but is managable due to stall teams on the decline.
Nintendo pushes 3v3 lvl 50 I believe because it’s faster to run over 6v6 lvl 100. I had matches last over an hour. I still find it stupid because I hated doubles battles which they push too.
Smogon is run by elitists and a seniority system that mean even if I bring a reasonable and BETTER system I’ll be ignored. If I make a gimmick set, it’s not even acknowledged. If a mod makes the same pkmn, it’s praised and seen as fresh. WS made a torment Hypno long agao and it was nice. So nice I made my own torment Dusclops. They make toment heatran and that is praised. Fuck that site for pkmn team rating.

Yeah it became so frustrating because just a few minor changes would make the game a lot more balanced AND FUN to play. “Hey let’s make Ice not even resistant to Water, or let’s make a trap move called Stealth Rock that hurts already nerfed types and a move called Defog that only takes away YOUR OWN STEALTH ROCKS AND NOT YOUR OPPONENTS.” ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? Gamefreak stays freebasing all day erryday son!
Hey Poison hurts only Grass yet 80% of Grass types are part Poison anyways, WOOT!
LV.50 damage values are bullshit too. Gamefreak went FULL RETARD trying to make that the standard, and it’s probably why the Japanese have the most wonky-ass movesets and teams which defy reason or logic.
Hahah you’re bringing back the memories. I remember back in D/P my first moveset for Metagross Meteor Mash/ EQ/ Thunderpunch/ Bullet Punch w/ Leftovers which was quite effective as a Cleaner-upper. Everyone on smogon was telling me that Agiligross and CB-Explosion-Gross was still better and that I’m splitting EVs too much blah blah blah…
Then one of the bigwigs on the board makes the same moveset with nearly the same spread months later and everyone is t-baggin’ him for making such an ingenious moveset.
Nice to see you’re still thinking outside the box m’friend. I was planning on making a Torment Dusclops w/ Eviolite a while back, but I stopped caring about B/W once I saw where the metagame was heading. Didn’t even bother to beat the game.
Flareon clearly needed Drought along with Flare Blitz to support its 130 Atk base. How many generations must this pokemon keep getting screwed over?
Game Freak’s golden rules of developing Pokemon:
- Make new Pokemon strong
- Buff up older Pokemon
- Flareon, as per tradition, is exempt from rule #2
