wtf
The new Kyurem forms were a given if you knew about Freeze Shock and Ice Burn. 2 new games makes me glad that I stopped buying the games. Gamefreak’s pulling a Capcom.
Pokemon Black/White were good games though… and well worth the money… so I wouldn’t exactly say they are pulling a Capcom… but this is still some bullshit though…
Gen 1 and 2 are still the best of the best…
They just need to hurry up with Gen 6 imo…
EDIT: They are hella breaking tradition though…
They’ve been doing this for 3 gens, now. Instead of a third version, we get two instead. It’s not a big deal. Just buy one.
It’s not about the number of games they make, I wouldn’t buy them anyways. Breeding, and SRing for IVs and Natures takes too long. I don’t really like to do all that in game stuff, so I just play on a battle simulator now. If I ever do start buying them again (I’ve have all of them except Pt, BW, and Red) I’ll probably just AR everything.
Still waiting on our Gen 5 Pokemon Stadium/Colosseum/Battle Revolution equivalent here.
It’s the reason why I stopped buying and playing them anymore. Every gen they keep creating needless combat problems and making retarded solutions to problems they can simply handle. I’m sick and tired of it.
I find it funny how my friends and I always called other companies doing this “pulling a Game Freak.”
Well, this changes how Kyurem’s implemented in simulators. Perhaps Meloetta/Genosect will gain something new too (not being able to start a battle in Dance Forme with Meloetta is stupid).
Just started getting back into ladder on that new Pokémon Showdown online client (how long has this beta been out for?) after a long hiatus. I forgot the joys and pains of team building when I was ready to finalize my team and suddenly realized I had no reliable Breloom check (my fire in my FWG core was Heatran) and he’s even stupider this gen. It’s fun doing this again, though.
Mewtwo, Arceus, and Kyogre are all damn strong. Kyogre is the best IMO. Darkrai is pretty nasty if you play somewhere without sleep clause.
well what i ment was not in the games but over all in the pokemon universe.
Depends on what you want to believe. Mewtwo made a good impression for a while, but “story” wise Arceus is the god of all pokemon. Going off some of the moives, Dialga/Palkia look pretty strong and gave Darkrai a run for it’s money. Some other legends have had their movie runs and look pretty beastly.
Nintendo’s not wasting any time - the English versions of Black and White 2 are coming out this fall, just a few months after Japan.

And the strongest Pokemon is Missingno. Guy has TWO Water Guns and scrambles your graphics like Pidgey eggs.
I am pretty sure this has been discussed already, but…
Which one of the 5 generations is your favorite game?
My favorite set of Pokemons has to be the first Generation by far. No generation has come close IMO.
My favorite overall games have to be both RSE and GSC.
So for me in order:
Pokemon
- RBY - 2. RSE - 3. GSC - 4. DPPt - 5. BW
Overall/Game
- RSE - 2. GSC - 3. RBY - 4. BW - 5. DPPt
My favorite was DPPt, cause it was the only generation that I really gotten into battling for. Still haven’t even dabbled into Generation 5 yet, and I feel bad for that.
I have a lot of nostalgia for Gen 1, but I think Gen 2 was my favorite overall. To me, Crystal is the apex of the series - It still had the 8-bit factor with graphics and sound, but it was a more complete game with the original region still available (even if it was kinda stripped-down). Gameplay wise, I liked how Gen 3 gave us abilities, and how Gen 4 gave us the special/physical split, but Gen 2 just represents “Pokemon” more to me in its most basic form.
GSC was the ultimate generation. It was the only game that had me wanting nothing. In an age with DLC bullshit, that game reminded me on what real extra content was:
-REAL TIME Night & Day
*Wherein Pokemon only appeared at certain times during the day like real creatures and in very specific habitats.
-New items, balls, etc.
-Ability to transfer RBY pokemon to your game!
-Genders
-Hold Items
-Berries
-Infrared Link Gift Trading
-Weather
-Shinies
-PokeGear
-New types
and when I thought that all was done…
-KANTO?!
This was all done in a single generation and created a precendent for all future generations. I think late teen RBY fans who were on the cornerstone of the Poke-trend started to wane in enthusiasm because nostalgia held them back. GSC had true innovations that far exceeded its predecessor, both ingame and competitively.
Pokemon GSC was the SF2 Turbo of Pokemon games.
G2 had the worst E4 in the entire series. But, IMO, it is still the best GEN to date. For a time I thought about B/W being the best, but nothing can replace my memories of raping G2 E4 then having to take on the Kanto leaders. Then there was Red, the most badass PKMN trainer in recent memory. HGSS version of Red didn’t live up to my expectations, and there was just something about being a kid and finding the battle more enjoyable in G/S.
GEN I Pros/Cons
Pros
Nostalgia factor
Hyper Beam animation
Missingno.
Character (Red, Blue, Giovanni)
Mewtwo/Legends were cool
Decent Starters
No Special Stat split (Surf Gyarados)
Decent E4
Cons
One Dragon Move (that’s set dmg)
Psychic type was overpowered
Terrible Sprites
Yellow was garbage
Few Bug Moves that were usable
One major con of Gen 1 in general was all the messed up mechanics it had.
If yall are talking about Gen 1 and 2 then yall can’t forget about the music…
The sound has been replaced with live instruments and yet the sound of the new games cannot hope to rival the old…
The old sounds just sounded like they had more of a creative vision… idk how to explain it…
