All of smogon’s suspect test voters qualify by gaining a certain number of points on their server and the points are reset every voting period.
Checked back in on Smogon after taking a long break from there. I was personally taken by surprise at OU Toxicroak. Then I remembered Politoed.
Imma have to start building a team sometime maybe in the future at a distant point.
The one that actually has me kinda excited is Gastrodon. I remember all of the Theorymonning that he’d be UU still despite the new Storm Drain. I look forward to using him. Too bad Metagross basically got nothing in this tremendously offense-based Gen. May have to try UU too; I always liked the variety there.
Ephidel, I got the mons you requested together with 6 lefties and 5 LOs. You didn’t specify which HP you want on dual screen Espeon, so I made one with fire, and one with fighting.
P.O is cool, and much easier to find a match on, but, the simulators have never been as much fun to me.

pretty much smogon staff decides on who gets sent to uber land. Most of the voting goes through pure speculations of simulations and current usage, but they ultimately have the last say so. Every time they make a change to the tiers it draws controversy.
Yeah, I got that much, I just wasn’t sure if it was a majority rules vote or 100% to get it uber.
I def understand that these two were really powerful, but, I donno… Excadrill was a potent check for a lot of offensive threats… but, I do suppose being able to check a threat and set up a sweep all in one was too good… ah well… time to rethink my sand team’s dynamic.
simply put, with Excadrill gone it changes the tier. Salamence is going to increase, as well as Deoxys-S. These pkmn are going to run wild with few checks.

My team was Tyrannitar, Excadrill, Heatran… and I’ve lost plenty of matches… maybe I wasn’t playing them right, but I’ve played some really good counters to this team before…
Too bad I forgot them lol… quite a few Japanese folks demolished my ass…
One of them included a Gengar, with that levitate ability, EQ was a complete non-factor…

with sand up and a swords dance excadrill outspeeds gengar and still KOs with rock slide.
another thing Excadrill did too well was set up another pokemon’s sweep. A good example would be after doing it’s damage, when it finally went down, you could bring in dual boost terrakion and set up a late game sweep, seeing as all potential counters to terrakion would be either sacrificed or severely weakened, it could just choose whatever boost worked best for the sitch and win the match.
if the check that brought down excadrill wasn’t using mach punch, or they didn’t have a bullet punch user… it was usually game over…
