Official Battle for Seattle thread, Sat+Sun May 28th+29th

Cool, appreciate it!

I have a Sega New Astro City cabinet, and an ST board lended to the tourney by Andrew/Geo, I might go get Zass’ Egret 2 cabinet depending on expected time constraints. If you want to come over and get some ST in at my place sometime let me know.

This is true!

No, you are good, but let me mention this for all the people donating monitors: You are exempt from the venue fee, which means you don’t need to pre-register. On the day you show up, just talk to me, but you still need to pay for each tournament pot so that the winners get their $scrilla. You can pre-register if you are rolling in dough and just want to help pay for the venue if you’d like.

Thanks for the offer. I may take you up on that, pending you don’t live in Olympia or any other far-out-in-the-Hinterlands locale.

Do you happen to know what time blokes start showing up at Acme Bowling on Mondays?

I live in Burien by Seatac airport.

The guys start showing up at 6:45-7, usually we meet there and play a few games before going to get something to eat.

yo I heard about this bullshit, I’ll promote the tourney on my stream (might get like 4-5 people to go)

Thanks for the support and the shoutout!

This looks so tight, I live so close to this too. Looking forward to going!

anyone know of any side tournaments? even any lulzy ones, like…SF the movie the game (saturn version)? lol

Depending on if I have time to make a JAMMA adaptor for it, I could possibly bring Streetfighter: The movie for arcade.

Well i plan to have an HDR one probably right after the ST tournament or before it…Have no idea how to set brackets but ill do some research…

I might run KOF98 or CvS2, just need to find out when.

You will need to start HDR before ST, Vampire Savior and ST are going to be the last tournaments and after those I will need to focus on cleanup.

Let me know when you’re doing this because I LOVE 98. What console would this be on? I hope it’s vanilla 98 cus I don’t know how to play the new version.

I have 98UM which has OG98, if I remember correctly their are no flaws with the OG98 on UM. I wouldn’t mind running either version or both if possible.

Most likely it would be the exact same people playing in both, so prolly you should just pick one, my vote is for OG 98 just cus I don’t know how Eiji and Krauser work, but you should take an informal poll when we’re all there.

Just to remind people, it’s $5 cheaper to pre-register than to pay at the door, so hurry and pre-reg while you can!

D: Noooooo…let’s try to forget that one exists

Since people apparently aren’t aware that I’ve posted the tournament schedule (both here on SRK and the seattleretro.org website), here is the weekend schedule again:

Tournament schedule is as follows:
Saturday:
11:00am Mortal Kombat 9 (xbox 360)
2:00pm Super Streetfighter IV (xbox 360)
4:00pm BlazBlue: Continuum Shift 2 (PS3), Tekken 6 (PS3)

Sunday:
11:00am Marvel vs Capcom 3 (xbox 360)
3:00pm Marvel vs Capcom 2 (Dreamcast), Super Streetfighter Turbo (Arcade)
5:00pm Vampire Savior (Arcade)

I have all the equipment I need assuming everyone who said they would bring stuff does. So you guys can coordinate your setups for casuals, all I need help with now is promotion. Tell people about it! Word of mouth, post on forums, pass out flyers (here is the flyer in PDF format, feel free to print it out and post it somewhere people can see!)

Don’t forget there will be raffle drawings for gift cards and a CUSTOM stick made by Paris (mkpcustoms), Bronson will be coming up from Cali, this will be BIG, and you also get entrance to the Seattle Retro Gaming expo which will have Steel Battalion setups, and EVERY OFFICIAL NES GAME ever released for you to play in the freeplay room.

To sweeten the pot: everyone who pre-registers by May 21st has a chance to win a Nintendo 3DS.

Make sure you make an event on facebook bro.

Also I’m going to probably order that thing tomorrow because I really want to direct cap ST and VS. Can you hit me with the links of what I should order and that way I can get it all?

LOL I don’t know how. Seriously I am pretty retarded about doing anything on software, I am not that great at using computers. I can browse SRK and youtube. Besides which I don’t have that many FB friends anyways and they all know about BFS by now… I know the seattle retro guys have already setup a facebook page…

Anyways the only thing you need if you’re going to come over, is this converter:
Video Converters - CGA/EGA/YUV to VGA Arcade HD-Converter PCB (GBS-8220) - JAMMABOARDS.COM - JAMMA Coin-Op Arcade Game Parts - CGA EGA YUV to VGA Arcade Video Converter PCB (GBS-8220)

The rest of the parts we need I have already.

Is there a fee for just coming and playing casuals/watching?
