Official Battle for Seattle thread, Sat+Sun May 28th+29th

I got a PM asking me how the raffle system works, so let me explain it to clarify:

There are two raffles, one for a Nintendo 3DS that everyone going to the Seattle Retro Gaming Expo (including BFS participants) will automatically be entered into. The second raffle system is mine:

The prizes are gift certificates and a grand prize of a custom joystick from Paris of MKPcustoms. People who pre-register for BFS will get two raffle drawings, people who pay at the door will get one raffle ticket, no matter how many tournaments they enter.

I am not going to say “no” to this and open the floodgates to people showing up and playing but not supporting the venue, but PM me. The venue costs a lot of money and needs to be supported if there is to be another Battle for Seattle, and space at this venue is limited. Next year if there is a BFS, the venue will be larger and I can have enough space to open up to the public regardless of entry.

If you bring a setup of system+lcd monitor, definitely we can work something out.

Bump, one more week fellas. Tell everyone you know and try to help make a good turnout.

I have enough tournament setups, so if you want to bring setups for practice/casuals inbetween that’s okay too.

Registered today, looking forward to this!

Just registered. Getting hype!

BTW I need training partners for MvC3. Online ranked matches is not cutting it, and I’m looking for a top 4 finish. Anyone?

I need to train for mvc3! Wait. This is this weekend, isn’t it? Fuuuuck. I’m going to be spending the weekend with my girlfriend at Folklife. Guess I’m not going.

Wanna train with me anyway? I especially need practice against phoenix, sent, and tron.

So i tried that LCD tv i was going to bring but man i think its too laggy. I have a lcd monitor, do you want me to bring that instead?

Yup! Monitors are better than TVs. Thanks man!

BTW guys, pre-registration ends thursday. You should do it because: 1) It’s $5 cheaper for you, 2) You can win a Nintendo 3DS for pre-registering, 3) You get more opportunity to win the Battle For Seattle prizes which include a custom stick from Paris! 4) It helps me out more.

This weekend is going to kick ass, Super Turbo and Vampire Savior are going to be played on a Sega Versus City cab: http://www.toptiertronic.com/pics/versuscity.jpg

How many people have preregistered?

I don’t have direct access to the paypal account that people use to pre-register, but last time I checked around 40, probably a few more than that right now…the vast majority of people pay at the door, so I expect well over 100, no idea how many though.

Yeah i talk to Gino today & he said that you will be using his VS at Battle of Seattle! That’s going to be sweet! Did you want me to pre-register? Yeah ill bring that LCD monitor instead…I might bring one of my cab for HDR setup. Let me know if there is room. Im about 20% sure of doing this haha but a good chance ill just bring the monitor…

It would be appreciated, but you don’t have to.

That would be okay.

I’m gonna register soon but can anyone host me for the night I really don’t want to have to drive back to Mt. Vernon and back again.

You can crash at my place, but I don’t have extra sleeping stuff so I recommend bringing a blanket and pillow and whatever sleeping acutrements you need.

253 886 0487 if you need my number.

Hey guys, pre registration closes at MIDNIGHT tonight! This is your last chance to get an extra raffle ticket, and your last chance to get the opportunity to win a free Nintendo 3DS for pre-registration! Also, paying in person is 5 bux more, at 25$+ whatever tourney you wanna enter.

Doors open to the public 9am saturday and 9am sunday, and run until we’re done. KEEP THE JEEP RIDIN’.

I cut it a little close, but I’m now registered.

Is there wifi there? Cant seem to get HDR going without being online…

Did you recently get a new 360? If you did you need to transfer purchases, then re download HDR IIRC

There is wifi at the hotel.
