If I heard that shit I wouldn’t go either. Fuck that!
I read some Cavs fans on FB complaining about the refs, and how everything is “rigged” so the Warriors must win, LOL.
And on Lebron’s “Finals loss record”, players like Kareem, Magic, and even Wilt Chamberlain lost 4 times in the Finals, so I dunno why it’s such a big deal?
At least he aint Elgin Baylor (who holds dat L with a whooping 0-8 record in the Finals).

OAKLAND — Stephen Curry will not play in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil and he may not be the only Warriors star to opt out.
According to multiple sources, Curry has already told USA Basketball he will not be playing for a gold medal. He will instead let his right knee heal.
Andre Iguodala and Klay Thompson could opt out as well due to concerns from the Zika virus epidemic in Brazil. Neither have told USA Basketball they are out and are still wanting to play. But they are keenly watching the developments.
According to sources, players have been advised to not bring their families to Brazil and to sleep in malaria nets to avoid being affected. That raised red flags among some players.
If I heard that shit I wouldn’t go either. Fuck that!
i didn’t quote the no sex during their stay or for 4 weeks after part either. always heard that olympic village turns into one big orgy, so ppl gonna be swapping zika like pokemon cards.

That Olympics is a disaster waiting to happen.
Is it true that your casual fan in the east don’t stay up late enough in the evening during the regular season to watch the dubs play? Maybe that explains all the hate and resentment towards them.

We on the East may not stay up super late, but that’s not the issue. If the game is good, I’ll stay up - if not, I’m going to bed.
For me, I soured a bit on Golden State early last season when I could see them getting arrogant about the early success they were having - but that’s just me. Widely though, I think it’s more media hypocrisy that drives people to dislike them. It took them until about a month ago to point out Steph Curry’s own arrogance. I think most people feel like how Bomani Jones put it, saying that he doesn’t mind if Curry (or the team for that matter is cocky and arrogant), but don’t ignore the fact. Don’t make Curry out to be this modest wonder child, when it’s clear that he’s not.
So in retrospect, I don’t think it’s people hating the Warriors, just resenting how the media is determined to put this narrative out there that’s not true. Kinda similar to how I felt every time I saw the video of Jordan pushing off Russell and people talking about it as if it wasn’t a blatant offensive foul.
Dat ball movement

Man, I still can’t grasp or understand the Warriors being arrogant concept. I’ve been watching this team since they were really bad, like Joe Smith days bad. Warriors as media darlings or making the playoffs still feels kinda foreign to me. Hell, I remember I used to look forward to the drafts. These last few years is when I actually don’t care as much. So when I see them celebrating, I think they’re actually happy and celebrating, not being pompous pricks and obnoxious as many would call Draymond. It’s just weird being on the winning side.

arrogance is the wrong word. arrogance, by definition, requires the unrealistic belief in one’s own abilities. if curry believes no one can guard him and he can shoot ridiculous shots and hit at a high percentage and is the best player in the league, then that is well within guidelines of realistic.
arrogance is a word that people use to demonize. it sounds much worse than “confident” and “cocky”, but people use it incorrectly to make their agendas have a bit more ‘umph’.

There is a difference between celebrating your own shots as a team and “acting” cocky (that might be your perception) and THIS

I’m not sure if I’d call that cocky. A little conceited, yeah, but not exactly cocky.

You know what happened after that game 5?
Game 6 LBJ: 13-33 FG (39%), 4-8 FT (50% lol), 2-10 3PT, (20%), 18 boards, 9 assists, 2 steals, 6 TOs
You tell me if that’s a “Best player in the world” statsheet
I actually really like the GS team outside of Kerr (he’s always so smug, but the guy is smart so I don’t hate him) and Draymond, who is blatantly dirty and overly cocky. The league always lets one player have carte blanche with dirty play and this year it seems they’ve chosen him. Last year was Delly, so I guess it’s only fair, but man I can’t stand Draymond Green and wish he were on the Cavs instead so I could really enjoy watching GS do well.
Instead I’m hoping both teams lose, because I can’t root for LeBron or Green, but Klay and Iggy have been amazing to watch.
I remember hearing that when you are at this stage playing the top in some sport, other shit comes to play, not just pure talent/skill. There is pressure, chokes, etc etc. So what some players/team do is to decoy attention from the main squad usually using someone as their clown/media whore. Bulls had Rodman, Pacers had Lance, Warriors have Green.
Is the same when coaches sometimes create controversy before a game so everyone and their moms are talking about “what he said” rather than being on the team’s or best player’s face all the time (like when Spoesltra said he wanted Lebron to win DPOY LMAO)
Almost every successful team has a dirty player, you need that guy who gives zero fucks but can get away with it.
Every successful team has “that one guy” that everyone loves to hate… He’s the guy making the dirty plays, talking all the shit, and rustling the media’s jimmies.
You need a dude like that to draw the heat away from the core stars, so that they can simply focus on playing well.
“He’s a guy I hate playing against, but would love to have on my side.”
The real slick ones are the ones like Delly, who are dirty players but hide it in an aura of likability and manners.

Then you had the bad boy pistons who were all that guy.

Except Joe Dumars he was the counter to all the other shenanigans.
