That’s a little misleading. This Cavs team would have lost against OKC and probably the Spurs too. Would be interesting to see if they can beat a healthy Clippers team in a best of 7 series.

Regarding the rings, yeah ppl bring up that Horry has more rings than Jordan, and that Ezeli has more rings than Malone. Surely numbers alone don’t mean much, but if you are labeled as a “superstar” or like you said yourself “top 10/5 player” there are a number of things expected from such a label. So far he has been struggling to do -by himself- what the greats have done. Think Magic, think Bird, think MJ, think Kobe, think Timmy D, they all lead their teams to rings (plural).
LeBron’s career is now decided on his success in Cleveland. He ran from the pressure the first time and went back because he thought he was ready. Nobody in Ohio is going to settle for “well it’s cool, at least he tried.” They will turn on him just like they did before he left.
I don’t like this mentality. Nobody has done it by themselves. A team definitely has a leader, but everybody has help. Bulls did well without Jordan, Kobe had Gasol, Tim Duncan had Tony Parker, etc.
Note: I’m not excluding Pistons and Mavs since you are talking about multiple championships.
yeah but you didn’t see MJ joining the Celtics after he got peaced out 3 years in a row by the Pistons. Or Kobe joining the Suns. Or Isaiah joining the Bulls. Or Duncan taking his talents to the Pacers.
Is it really that bad that LeBron ends up 2-5 in the Finals? There are/were many superstar players that would love to get just one or two trips to the finals on their NBA resume.
I missed that Law & Order SVU episode involving an NBA Finals game, but judging by the posts the offenders were found guilty and sentenced to spend the next several days in Cleveland. Justice.
On top of that, LeBron was the one who pressured ownership in giving ridiculous contracts to his “boys.” He basically threatened ownership that he will leave again if his boys can’t get the contracts they demand when the season was over. LeBron has the owner by the neck and will do whatever it takes to satisfy himself and his clique of teammates. LeBron has the ultimate option select of rage quitting the Cavs again by following his receding hairline back to south beach again or staying with the Cavs with another huge short-term contract (no hometown discount!).
I was expecting Cavs fans to be in denial and upbeat on these sites, but nah. Its like they all saw Jason with the machete in front of them and knew there was no point running from death.
Ok. Last night, i was about to watch the game with 2 women. We didn’t have TV so we figured to get a stream to watch the game. One of the chicks said she will be the one to browse around the net for a stream, while they were searching the net, i went out to the local store to get some snacks and shit. When I came back, “she found a site” that was “hosting” the game.
So we watched the whole thing. I was smoking and drinking while watching and something about the game felt odd, mostly no commercial breaks being something i felt was really odd. But i just kept my mouth shut and just watched. After the game, i logged on here and read a bit of the comments; I got seriously confused as to what everyone here was talking about. “Cav’s are getting destroyed…” i was like, what are these niggas talking about?!
It turns out, this chick got the game off google play and it was game 2 of fucking 2015. 2015!!! I fucking watched the 2nd game of 2015 (in where Cav’s won by a nail the whole time)!
Didn’t see the second half, checked my phone later while I was out and was like - “welp, that’s that”.
As a Sixers fan, I don’t want Teague. I don’t mind trading Noel or Okafor, but I’m not so starved for a PG that I’d trade either for Teague. We need more vets, but he doesn’t fit. When the young guys on this team (Okafor/Noel, Embid, hopefully Ben Simmons, Saric) have developed, Teague is going to be way past his prime.
This would be a move to make us better right now and join that jumble of EC playoff pretenders. We just spent the last 3 years tearing everything down in order not to take that path. We need to stay patient and continue to build through the draft - especially now that we’re in the position to get the superstar we’ve been needing.
I wouldn’t mind bringing in guys like Seth Curry, The Dap-Master Ken Bazemore, and Harrison Barnes (at the right price) though.
