Official 2016 NBA Off-Season Thread: Westbrook staying in OKC for 3 more years. Confirmed MVP

It’s not even about faces and heels, or squashing.

When you know the Warriors are going to win every night, there’s really no point in even watching. There’s no point in debating who can take them out in the playoffs either, because that’s not going to happen.

SAS is a crackhead, but he was right the other day after the Spurs got smashed when he said the Warriors are making the season very boring, and that OKC is the only team left that can potentially make it interesting for them. Otherwise even a blind man knows what’s going to happen in June. Cavs certainly can’t hang with them.

Bosh is in the 3 point contest

You could say the same of any squash. “Oh, we know X will win, why bother?”

Because…

A) It’s not a guarantee the Warriors will win every night hence why they don’t have a 0 in the loss column. Any given night.

B) The way the Warriors win just tends to be absurd enough to be fun. To see Steph hit 7 threes in the First. To see when the night Klay or Dray or the rest goes off is also fun.

Yes, in terms of game picks or season predictions and such along with betting, the Warriors make the season incredibly boring. But if that’s all you’re into during an NBA season then you don’t really like the game of basketball much outside of your own team.

This really doesn’t make any sense at all. But, whatever.

It’s not as complicated as I apparently made it seem.

What’s wrong with just enjoying the game even if you know the eventual outcome?

Because one of the biggest advantages of sports is never knowing the outcome beforehand. But when you have a team dominating like this, it ruins that advantage. I only turned to the game last night when I saw it was still close in 4th. The only time I watch full GS games is when they play a contender.

Alright then. I’ll enjoy the squashes, I guess you guys can just watch Hockey or something until the season’s over I guess. Either that or someone finally gets at Steph’s ankles.

NBA being predictable is one of the biggest criticisms people have against the league. Last 25 years the only surprise teams people didn’t think had much of a chance to win the Championship at the start of the season were the Mavericks, Pistons and Rockets and regarding the Rockets we’ve seen how often the “If Michael hadn’t retired…” argument is brought up.

People talk about the East is good this year and there’s a lot of parity but let’s be honest, everyone knows who’s getting the trophy in the end and it’s not going to be a 45 win team.

[details=Spoiler]It’s the Raptors. In 4.

Fuck you Murica.[/details]

I wouldn’t watch hockey even if the players were girls in bikinis. Fuck that.

The only thing the Warriors did was prove you can win a championship utilizing small ball mechanics. The last time I can remember a team that came close to doing that was the 06-07 Suns utilizing that kind of play style with all the 3’s, pick and pop, shooting from halfcourt, running, and putting 6’9 guys at the 5 position. You could make a case for the Heat, since they had Chris Bosh at C for a while and won titles.

If Robert Horry doesn’t take a cheap shot at Steve Nash, then the Suns would of likely went to the finals that year. And if the Suns went to the finals that year then they could of possibly won it all, and the Marion/Shaq swap wouldn’t of happened the following year, so then Steve Kerr would of still been the GM. However, Lebron James ALSO went to the finals that year, and if Cavs won it all then Lebron may not have gone to Miami. And with Lebron not headed for Miami, Mike Brown would of never been fired, and they wouldn’t of won 2 championships, so that also means the Thunder could of WON a championship, and we may have saw Durant/Westbrook/Harden’s big three a little longer. And with Lebron out of the way, the Spurs could of won their 5th championship, and Ray Allen probably wouldn’t of left Boston.

That cheap shot changed the whole NBA landscape for years to come

So the warriors now are the john cena of the NBA? LOLWARRIORSWIN

Anthony Davis missing break away dunks and free throws. C’mon man.

Ryan Anderson’s 3pter looks like garbage. I know it’s always been a flat shot, but it looks like a water balloon being shot out of a sling shot.

Again, another degrading Kareem statement about Dirk. One Trick Pony eh … o_O

Funny that he mentions rebounds, seeing that Dirk has nearly the same average for his career. Not to mention Dirk plays further away from the basket. I don’t think Kareem even watched a lot of Dirks game and how good his footwork is and his basketball IQ or how diverse prime Dirk was able to attack a defense. Dirk was never a very good defender, but always solid enough and playing with effort. Also people constantly forget how great Dirk has been in nearly every playoffs he’s been a part of. Like how he destroyed KG back in the day when Kevin was great …

All I know is OKC vs GS is gonna be very interesting. Especially what Curry said and how KD and Westbrook responded.

WWE/NBA lol

omg do it i don’t even care what you get back.

Lol Clippers

Trade him to Denver for what? Gallo and two elk steaks?

trading for blake would make the nuggets so much less fun to watch tho

If the steaks are grade A quality I’d say it’s a good deal.

I don’t get why people look down on GSW dominance but look back at the 90’s and appreciate Jordan’s Bulls. It’s even more confusing when the basic measurement of a player’s skill is his team’s win/loss records and championship rings. So how can we have “the next Jordan” without having anything close to that dominance? Hell, GSW haven’t even won their second championship yet and people are already griping.
