Official 2016 NBA Off-Season Thread: Westbrook staying in OKC for 3 more years. Confirmed MVP

If Shaq gets a statue it should be of the moment right after Kobe threw him the oop (him pointing upwards).

That or him taking a free throw.

The Sixers have been playing better. I don’t even care about any additional wins at this point. All I want to see is growth and good signs towards the future. I really want to see Embidd out in the floor and see what he’s capable of. Most are saying he looks better in the paint than Okeafor and Noel, but none of that matters if he doesn’t show it in an actual game.

Also, Curry and the boys on Sat. It’s gonna be ugly…

Time of the season once again for random trades with the trade machine.

My lack of sleep finally caught up to me yesterday so I missed the Rockets getting destroyed by San Antonio yet again. So it ended up being a good thing, but man second time they stayed neck and neck then they turned it up and that was it :(.

sad that this still happens in cba… maxiel would have killed this dude if he wasn’t such a bitch.

2 moments every fan of that Laker era will remember. I think a free throw statue would be both hilarious and fitting. He dominated the game so much people had to revert to fouling him to try and get a better chance of winning. There’s a reason it was called Hack-A-Shaq. Plus his “form” is very unique (shooting with just one hand), it shows how much he struggled with free throws and the amount he had to change because of his sheer size.

I understand it, but its still a cop out to me when I hear the whole size argument.

Call a spade a spade, he wasn’t good at free throws, because he didn’t have any range. The more range a big man has, the better their free throw percentage. I ‘personally’ was an albatross when I played, my game was just like Shaq, just dominate in the middle, but I could hit free throws while still being garbage outside the paint (why I gave up really). I’m 6’6", Shaq hovered around 7’ to 7’1", so 6 to 7 inch difference. I was like 90% free throw shooter, I have an incredibly hard time believing that someone who’s LIFE is basketball (and like him I was working on rap at the same time), couldn’t get to something more respectable just because he was bigger.

His issue’s were simple IMO, too many people gave him input so he was never consistent, the form he settled on was horrible (the second hand is for aiming…and he didn’t use it), and because he was wide, when he centered himself at the line, he over-corrected the angle, made even harder because he used one hand.

The fingers in the air is the pose I’d go with though…or…

As soon as Curry saw he didn’t had it that game he gladly deferred… man those warriors to good of a team. Well Mavs just gotta take care of business the next 2 games anyway.

Interesting to me at least that Lin is one of the best pick and roll players in the league statistically, Jeremy Lamb is also rated highly in the pick and roll usually because he is running it with Lin. Something to think about if you are a Charlotte fan.

But Shaq would make the free throws when they counted the most, Shaq’s statistical category for free throws was seemingly over-exaggerated because he would still dunk the ball after being fouled. That’s why Don Nelson implemented Hack-a-Shaq in order to foul him away from the basket.

No he didn’t, the whole Shaq made them when they counted is a myth. Often times Phil would take him out in the latter half of the 4th and they did the samething to him in Miami, even the year they won a championship.

Nothing exciting/unexpected by these allstar reserves.

Wtf is Lue coaching the East? Who are the clowns making these decisions??

I commend you on a great shooting percentage. But just your height “similarity” doesn’t mean much. I mean, you’re the height of forwards, so shouldn’t their percentage be closer to yours? It’s not just height, but muscle mass plays a large part (as well as fatigue, pressure, etc.). The tall guys who can shoot (Dirk, Yao, and others) are more slender for a reason. Their game revolves around shooting and more finesse, not power like Shaq. I equate it to normal people and beer pong. It’s awkward even if we could use 2 hands because of the amount of power vs. control over an object so light. But whatever. I’m not above 6 feet nor do I have that much muscle, so I can’t say much.

Same people who chose Sting (not the wrestler) for the half time show at the All Star game instead of the dozens of Canadian/Toronto musicians such as everyone’s favourite bandwagon rapper.

At least it wasn’t Nickelback.

I don’t understand choosing sting for the halftime show either. Seems like an odd choice…

I thought the Raptors are good this year. Why is the arena so damn empty?

Cause it’s the Knicks

Cuz Leafs lol. Canada doesn’t deserve a bball team.

10 in a row!!!

Yeah, some Raptor fans have been noticing the somewhat disappointing arena support. It will definitely pick up once the playoffs begin, but you can tell people aren’t as excited as they should be about this streak.

But hey, it could be worse…

Spoiler
