Official 2016 NBA Off-Season Thread: Westbrook staying in OKC for 3 more years. Confirmed MVP

I was going to complaining about Derrick Rose looking like Derrick Rose of four years ago but remembered he was being guarded by Joran Clarkson.

I was built like Shaq, when I was 10, I was 5’10 200 Ibs. My basketball weight was around 260-275 when I was serious.

And it goes back to my point, those forwards typically had more range. Muscle mass has NOTHING to do with shooting form, its purely routine and accuracy. With a constantly mutating form that changed every few years it seemed, coupled with a lack of accuracy, its understandable why he sucked, he would have been better off sticking with his original form or second form, and just making ‘adjustments’ over time. How did I get good? I got a routine loosely based on Malone ironically, mastered the distance of the free throw line without jumping, and just was consistent. Even when I would ‘play around’ with different forms, it always digressed back to my original form with just slight adjustments.

Just like Shaq I was wide, so my angle when lined up was, was larger than most, so you just learn to center the ball before your release. Ball should be around your head, but never obstruct your sight entirely on the way up. He paused the ball over his head, so you never got the ‘right’ motion, and centering then became inconsistent. Everything about hisform in the second stage of his career, lead to bad shooting.

One hand means no guiding.
Shooting like a catapault means inconsistent strength (instead of stroking like an engine).
The ball being predominantly above your head, erases time to naturally auto correct your shot.

I mean be honest, how many people short of Rasheed Wallace, shot it overhead consistently. Webber was OK at it, though I think it has more to do with how good Webber was in general. Look at the good shooters. Take the best right now - Curry. His form is a little different with less push off from his legs than most, but the ball ALWAYS comes up from his chest, and past his head on release…he’s ridiculously consistent in form, and he can adjust for distance and accuracy while the ball is “coming up”.

Shaq sucked because Shaq sucked (at Free throws, still the big man I would start a team with, only second possibly to Kareem).

There is no excuse.

I’m dumbfounded by people who would willingly trade Randle or Clarkson. Or by people who wouldn’t want Whiteside in Free Agency.

do lakers fans have a lot of faith in randle? i honestly can’t get a good vibe on what people feel about him. still seems very raw.

That’s cute, but the gif and pic are from entirely different games.

I think all our rookies show potential. I’m in the same place as you though. Randle is like averaging a double double so yeah

Wow, Josh McRoberts is going to play for the first time since Dec 4th. Is this real life?

Damn they finally putting their money to good use

No one tanks better than Phoenix right now. If the game is closer than 20 points, it’s a miracle.

I don’t get all the OKC can hang with GS when the rest of the team is booty on offense and the defense inside is pretty bad.

Edit: Man fuck these refs.

Wade has been incredible. THREE game winning shots in the past three games. The team knows to get him the ball and get out of the way at the end of the fourth.

Cause unlike LeBron Bron, Wade knows how to clutch

warriors ain’t that good.

That was a good ass game. It literally came down to the wire. Sixers were getting rolled, but they fought back and made it a game. Even though we lost, I’m glad they were competitive against the Warriors.

i missed most of it, but saw the run. ish has been a godsend for a non-tanking teams, warriors sat their starters early thinking it was done, and 76ers just kept their foot on the pedal. warriors got bored, but the 76ers stayed motivated. good way to make a statement for the 76ers.

i’ll have to watch the replay tonight.

If Sixers are smart, they’ll make Ish Smith part of their long term plan. A budget PG with above average impact/production is not easy to find.

Though we lost, that comeback was a good morale booster the team and city. They got a standing ovation after that, which was pretty dope. Since I’m up in CT, I only got to see the end on NBA Gamtime. Not gonna bother w/ the replay, the line score tells the whole story.

Randle needs to develop a jumpshot, he’s already too powerful for most defenders under the rim. His game right now is too one-dimensional, but most rookies need that time to work on their game

Almost thought the Sixers were going to pull a Eagles/Pats game. Tremendous effort. A month or two ago Warriors would’ve won by 60.
