Philly needs a real goalie
philly really needs a new goalie. Caps have three pretty damn good ones.
Hoping the sharks pull out another win tonight. Also hope they don’t turn into the old sharks everyone sees in the playoffs where they just crumble at a certain point =(
Looks like sweeps coming everywhere this round of the playoff, except for the nucks and preds.
Man i knew Tampa would win but i thought Ovie and the Caps would put up a fight. Seriously the guy maybe arguably the best player in the league but he should never captain a team. This goes to show how good the penguins were. Wish they had Cosby. Bylsma for coach of the year.

Ovi played his heart out in all four games. Other players (Backstrom) needed to step their shit up.
Honestly though, I don’t even want to look at hockey until my rage calms. Who knows when that will be though
Im not doubting Ovi didnt play to the best of his abilities, but him playing hard doesnt mean he should captain that team or any team. He’s talented but that talent doesnt transfer into being a good leader.
In big games he doesnt show up, and when he decides to show up he cant motiviate his other russian buddies to take it up a notch.
Not trying to kick Ovi when hes down, theres alot of problems in the Captials (coaching, the system they play, goalie)
When I watched, several of the Capital’s forwards played as individuals too often, selfish, rather than relying on team-mates. Individual play gets destroyed by team defense, resulting in high turnovers and little offensive zone time with no shots or chances.
I thought earlier in the year they had bought into this defense first system with a tenacious fore check. I had seen them once or twice and they were pretty good. But watching them play against the Lightning, they too often abandoned that style and lost trust in each other. I also saw some bad defensive zone coverage, people watching the puck instead of looking out for another player to cover. I saw some bad breakouts where forwards weren’t helping get it out of the zone due to maybe desperation or selfishness.
They can still do better next year if they work hard. The Sharks had the same problem during the past two seasons and even in the first half of this season. Now they’re all playing the same defensively stringent game with good breakouts and tenacious fore-checking.
Well looks like Capitals had some serious injury problems that hinders a few of their stars from performing (Backstrom, Green, Ovi). Tough time to be injured.
On another note, my oh my no other playoff seasons have defensive play style been more apparent than this year. You know its bad when teams like Washington and Vancouver sit back and milk a 1 goal lead. At times i had to turn off the tv it was so boring, that shit should be x-rated on television. Thats whats wrong with the nhl, top players cant shine because the defensive game is too great to overcome (playoff only). H. Sedin one goal on 450+ shift and that came last night on an empty net.
How do they change this?
Dear, Hockey God… Aka Esa Tikannen… Please bless the Sharks so they may ravage the Canucks in the Conf Finals. Let their mighty offense strike down the Pacific President Champs and destroy the hopes and dreams of Hongcouver.
