Pre season is so close I can taste it. Speaking of EA NHL games I busted out my NHL 94 and have been playing it almost every day.

Blackhawks are all pretty god tier imo, pretty easy to score 20 goals against any cpu.
Sharks and Senators are shit tier, only pros can win with them imo against a human goalie.

my UHL team is beastly right now. Both my powerplay lines are all rares. Every right wing I have is rare. I have a few good centres (sobotka, for instance), but nothing special. I have more rare right wings (lol) on left wing, as well as randy jones and glencross. Almost my entire defence is rare too. I got mega fucking lucky with my packs I bought.
I had 100 MS points left, so I decided fuck it, I will buy the pack with one, MAYBE two rares in it. I got +9 shot, Phil Kessel (!!!), and sobotka in that pack.
I love him (especially cuz i pumped a bump of +9’s into him) but I put him up for auction…81,000 pucks 
best part, my salary cap is still only 22k!
Seriously, I am hoping more of you have this game, and more importantly, why don’t we have an EANHL team?

I checked out the Oilers prospects yesterday (they blew up the nucks prospects, mostly because of a weird goalie change half way through, and no Hodgson) Paajarvi looks sick, gonna be a good swede for years to come, Hall and Eberle looked crisp on a few plays and seemed pretty real deal.
Shorks got some goons in the system, they play real physical, Canucks beat them 5-3, Tanev looks to crack the roster in a few seasons, especially with D-men becoming free agents down the line. He pulled a nice rush up the ice and made a good play for an easy tip in.
Eddie Lack = Gonna move up the depth chart quickly. Likely to start with the moose imo.

Well the pre-season started. Glad to be seeing some live hockey, I just wish it mattered at all. With all the competition for roster spots these split squads with rookies and try outs aren’t doing half bad for the nucks, would be nice to win one though.
But like I said, shit don’t matta, I’d rather go 0-9 in the preseason and be tuned up by October.

leafs are looking decent. kulemin and versteeg are looking impressive. phanuff looks like shit. kadri is going to the minors, lol to all the nut huggers. Rosehill is a beast…won’t make the team i doubt but he’ll go anyone. fuck i forget the guys name, i think he got cut but he was on D he had some fucking sick hands. Goal tending still looks a little soft, although that new guy riemer looks promising.
will be interesting to see how they do in the regular season, looks like they have two lines that can put up some points now.

Viktor Stalberg is a bum.
Props to Toronto for getting Versteeg for essentially a box of scraps. If that was the case I would have rather just traded Versteeg for picks and waiting the couple of years to see how those prospects developed. But the Hawks wanted to find somebody that they could supplant Versteeg with.
I’ve known SOOOO many people who have been either banned or worse, at the HF boards. Seriously, so many fucking vendetta’s at that place, and far too many mods/admins are complete and total fucking complete losers. Contagious dick cancer wouldn’t help fix that board.
And I am still fairly certain that the Crosby lottery was rigged so Pittsburgh could win it and the NHL wouldn’t have to lose/relocate a team. I call every single Pens fan a fucking bandwagon jumper, to their face.
And yeah, leafs have been odd. Every team seems to stomp them, then they suddenly realize how to play against them. They still have NO fucking scoring, although Bozak and Grabo have looked a lot better. Phaneuf seems to still be looking for his role. Also hard for him to put up points when nobody knows what to do. And with the leagues best defence, you think they would either cycle the puck more, or let more bombs come from the point. Khadri is an odd case. In one sense, what would he learn/improve playing 10 mins a night on the third line that he couldn’t do on the Marlies first line, getting 20+ mins a night? Yet, the leafs REALLY can’t afford to get rid of somebody who is one of their few scorers, and amazing on the shootout to boot.
He may go down to the minors, but I dont see him staying there for long (similar to Schenn)

Kadri should play the whole year for the marlies. The A is a tough league, it will teach him what he needs to know to play in the NHL. The media here is so fucking retarded. I was reading one jackass in the sun yesterday saying who burke and wilson were sabotaging kadri so he doesn’t make the team. Saying it was stupid to make him put on muscle and they are trying to turn him into a mucker. Like honestly…who the fuck lets these people publish columns when they know jack shit about the subject at hand. I can’t even read the paper…and i’m not even in the nhl, i can’t imagine how these players feel sometimes.
