lots of buzz about this possible signing, I think a few of us saw it coming. Hawks got an upgrade but I don’t know about the sharks… Nabby was labeled a choker but Niemi might end up a one hit wonder.

Same here. I honestly don’t know if I’ll even pick it up when it comes out. Well… that’s a lie but still. Ever since they went to the two thumbstick controls the franchise has been kinda bleh. It feels too much like a simulation now. Not that I want an arcade version like NHL Open Ice or anything but its extremely difficult to score. And what I hate most about it, is all the players feel exactly the same. If I’m playing with Ovechkin or someone I want him to skate faster and be noticeably better than the other players. Kinda disappointed.

I like the two thumbstick controls. I just find that a lot of shit was boring about it too (although not the same as u). Scoring is easy, however randomly easy. One timers, simple dekes, and wrist shots through screens go in WAY too easy. Goalies are still too stupid when it comes to huge one timer passes (I’ve seen goalies diving around when you’re passing the pack ALONG THE POINT).

No team located south of St. Louis will ever be respected by the league because franchises such as the Predators, Thrashers, Yotes, Hurricanes, Lightning etc. are seen as just more short-sighted fuck-ups by Gary Bettman in the eyes of the Canadian media.
Never mind that the Predators have one of the best teams in the Western Conference, no, they should be moved to Hamilton… the Thrashers, they should be moved out of that irrelevant hillbilly town Atlanta into that major media market Quebec City…lol.
dallas was doing decent back in the day. Tampa too. LA Kings and SJ Sharks ain’t exactly in the red either. Southern hockey CAN work, I just don’t understand why they’re trying sooooo hard to push it. Some cities have tried before (Atlanta, for instance) and failed before, and yet get another chance.

I’m going for the Thrashers…because I live here. I’m from CT and they had the Whale, lol. I love the sport more than the teams. I want to get know more about the politics and the players but in the end I just love watching the games.
Tampa was only good for one year. They have basically been in last place ever since they were created. The Kings have only got good the last two years, they have been pretty shit every since they went to the cup finals in 93. Not that i don’t want to see other canadian teams…but really they aren’t going to get better just by moving the team. We don’t even have major cities to move them too anyway.

hamilton has a population of over 1/2 a mill, way more if you count the rest of the Golden Horseshoe (ie- Stoney Creek, Burlington, etc etc). We also have huge business potential due to Lake Ontario, and the upcoming Aerotropolis that is being built. Also, we’re close to the US, and toronto. I ain’t saying we’re a major player, but we sure as fuck can support a team better than Phoenix, Nashville, or some of the other shitty cities. Not to mention we have some huge rich people willing to back the team.
Winnipeg had a team, and wasn’t doing THAT bad with it. Sure it wasn’t huge, but it helped the city out quite a bit. Now they have fuck all, besides the bitter cold.

btw, some new stuff I found out (360 controls…do the math if u own a PS3 version):
LB + up on the right stick = jumping deke. Useful for getting over pokechecks or bodies
press LEFT stick in 3 times = hustle mode (u have 3 modes of Hustle…default, level one, level 2). Basically its turbo, and works with/without the puck
there are more things I’ve found, but I’m still toying around right now, so gimme time. Also, I spent WAAAAAAY too much real money on my UHL team lol
