ROLENTO GLITCH: We have decided for SFxT at GCE#2, that if you do the Rolento Glitch in a tournament match you will automatically forfeit that 1 game. Since the tournament is 2/3 GAMES, if you did the glitch your first game you would be down 0/1, and your opponent would only have to win 1 more GAME to win the match.
We hope that you do not purposely initiate this glitch, as it would be extremely looked down upon and disrespectful to not only your opponent, but the tournament itself.
To clarify, to win a game you need to win 2/3 rounds.
Sixfortyfive, nothing is guaranteed but for GCE #1 we had 25 entrants and about 30-35 total that were present. We have a core group of about 10 people that will be there for sure, in addition we have a few people from Pensacola playing that did not play last time. If you are concerned about competition, I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
Would you be driving by yourself or bringing a crowd?
we have a very serious marvel scene here. If you marvel players come out, I promise you guys will be back for more marvel. We even have some pretty good diversity too. Lots of zeros but we have specialist players too.
sixtyfortyfive, we play very regularly here. You guys should come out. Would be nice to meet all the marvel players in this part of the country. There has never been a dedicated tournament for this part of FL ever and I should know, been here since mvc2.
99% sure I’ll be coming solo. I’m always offering carpools but half the players here aren’t interested and the other half are always tied up with work, family, etc.
Sounds cool. Only reason I asked was because most of the posts in this thread are about playing other games, lol.
What system do you guys play on? I can bring an Asus monitor and/or 360 if you need more setups.
I am going to be showing up really early (probably around 2-3pm CT), maybe even before to setup and make sure everything is working correctly. I’m sure a few of the main players are gonna show up early to get some games in before the tournaments start. I would say that it would be safe to show up around 4-5 for casuals, sign-ups start at 6, and SFxT begins at 7, followed by UMvC3 at 9.
REMEMBER GUYS - There will NOT be free food and drink at the tournament this time (I went over there to grab some pizza last time and all NINE boxes were gone! lol). There will be snacks and drinks provided by the venue, but for a reasonable fee. I would encourage all of you to support the venue and not bring outside food or drink, but in the end it is up to you.
SIGN-UPS START AT 6:00 PM CT for BOTH GAMES! LAST CALL 10 minutes prior to each tournament.
Sixfortyfive, if you wanted to bring your EVO monitor that would be cool, I’d like to compare it to the TVs that we are currently using to see how big of a difference there is, if any.
I’ll go ahead and bring it, but I can tell you that it lags about 0.5 frame behind CRT at 1080p and about 1 frame on 720p over a VGA connection. I assume HDMI is comparable.
The owner installed a window AC unit in the back area, but he hasn’t redone his entire A/C system yet or anything. I’m gonna bring a fan or two but hopefully it will be better. Hope to see you come out again anyways Sazae, and I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to jam with you, I was running around like 99% of the time.
I should be there not to much later than 6:00 or so, wanna make sure I have time to grab an area where I can set up the Neo and Supergun again. Hope I can talk some more people into playing the older games, had some great games last time and I’d love to rock out some Hibiki in Last Blade 2 again.
I was providing the ride for a couple guys coming in from P’cola and I have already informed them as to what was going on. I appreciate the offer though but now tonight is going to be spent under the hood of my car.
