Kyle said that he would take care of it, and I’m in no rush. Besides, I’m Chinese, and hella cheap. Since he said that he would do it for free, I’ll just wait. Like I said last week, those sticks have been giving me problems forever, so I just don’t feel like investing any more money into them. I’ve thrown so much money at them, and something has always been wrong. I’ll just wait until they permanently crap out, and I’ll just give up fighting games for good.
I play Guile, and I’m an asshole. I don’t really play to win. Rather, I play to not lose. More of a glass half empty mentality.

Julien: I am interested in getting into boardgames more, have you played Blokus? I will play any of those games but I’d have to be taught first. Also I think Zach’s game nights are cramped enough as it is with marvel, ST and Poker, not sure where there’d be time for that except for playing white marvel is going on if we started at like 8pm or so?
Also I agree with getting more serious about ST. Personally, because my overall Seattle ranking right now I believe is 3rd in ST, and I will probably be knocked out of the top 3 if Julien Beasely, Nate and that hispanic dude (sorry bro, forget your name) are all better players than me right now…but I have the potential to place high and even win tournaments if I concentrate and practice my ass off. I REALLY wanna learn Guile but it’s too late to start learning him before tommorow.
Anyways, I tried getting an ST tournament at my house but neither you or Umbrellastyle ever called me back, so I just rape-trained on Nate in Garou…

I’d love it if you could take a look at my sticks. One just needs the LEFT input re-soldered, and the other one needs power soldered to the optical stick. I know nothing about wiring. I’ve also got them crack shivers, so I don’t have steady hands.
As for Guile, he was fucking dominant in SFII original and CE. Is he still good in ST? I ask because I don’t really know what tricks he has. I still play his ST version as though he were CE. That is to say, I do a lot of tick throw and sonic boom traps. He does have pretty good reach with normals, but there’s no way he can out poke Claw since the Spaniard has non-existent startups on his normals. When i played Guile against Phi last week, he raped me.
I can easily re-solder the left input for you, if you have the power and can show me what wires need to be soldered on the optical I could do that or research what needs to be wired to what, I’ve never done opticals before.
Do you want me to bring my soldering iron to zach’s tommorow, or do you want to come hang out and play games sometime next week and I can do it?
Please bring your solder tomorrow. The left input should be easy enough. The trick with the second stick is that Kyle needed a “multi-meter” to find out where the power source on the PCB is located. That’s part of the reason for the hold-up, since he doesn’t own a multi-meter.
I want to get a working stick whenever possible. I made a commitment to start hitting training mode and work on Mag and Sent combos, but I haven’t had a working stick in forever. If you could help in any way, I’d appreciate it.

Something of note for future events. Nate “XTG” Montes has agreed to run the ST brackets starting at 11PM. This will begin with the next tournament. The idea is that if we get ST underway when Marvel gets partway into the loser’s bracket (and only needs one screen), we can finish more than half of ST before poker starts. This way, people still engaged in ST will get blinded towards the beginning of the tournament, rather than the late, crucial hands. So, once again, ST to begin at 11PM in the future. The first post in the thread has been updated with this info as well.
