Nolan - I like the system, a good majority of it. I like having a bigger window for people to challenge. I like FT10 then win by 2. Things I dont like, is a lower guy beating a higher guy not switching places…if the champion just moves one down…that means the entire bracket under him gets a loss and has to move down cause he lost. So id still have the old switch, that would also put some good pressure on the champion. Im going to have to call u or read a little more on the cooldown times u mentioned on people waiting for challenges. I like these improvements, this is what im talking about…constructive criticism.
To Deezo/Mickey D - I think you guys are reading to into the whole “nw ranking” name. Like…this was the best advice I got from mickey…the name is bad cause it doesnt really fit…this is NOT an end all be all ranking system. Who the fuck cares if u are 30th, 10th or 1st. I need to change the title of the thread…but im changing it to “Character Improvement Chart” This chart just shows who is striving to improve more. This chart is purely to promote people playing “OTHER PEOPLE”. Sure Deezo, Mickey…u guys know how to level up…just like I know how to level up. Others in our community do not so I dont know, i may be stepping out there with this one…but I feel its our responsibility as top players to be helping out our community to get good. If they dont get good, we can only get so good. So with this chart, it just makes it so people like phil or Sblade, kats you “NEVER” get to play, can have a chance to play u. Now you both say "well, let others call me and they can play me ANY time and its just the same. Well its actually not…cause players need incentives, and this chart is an incentive to call super top player Mandel or Mickey and ask to play them. Where normally, they would not, they would wait till the next Tourney wars or some gathering to play you and at the time u might not even play serious. U might just fuck around, u might choose to play dan and then thats the one game these guys get with u as u proceed to socialize and talk to other people making it real intimadting for lower players to even approach you. Now we have a nice little system that just “PROMOTES PLAYING” that is all, that is ALL IT MEANS.
Chart and system doesnt do anything but PROMOTE PLAYING. With some scenarious to make it intersting. Stop sitting there and using the “ranking” as an excuse not to participate or trying to say “i dont need no ranking to say im good” motherfuckers (excuse my language) but STOP BEING SO FUCKING SELFISH!!!
Of COURSE u ******* know how to level up yourself, OF FUCKING COURSE. I mean, god damn mickey and deezo (and this is hurting me more than it will hurt u), just last year, deezo was sitting there shouting at Tourney Wars about how our scene doesnt do shit, doesnt get involved, doesnt try to play hard. Now we are given a cool system to help us ALL play a little harder and be serious as well as a FUCKING DEDICATED VENUE (dojo) to play anytime u want (fuck distance, at least its there). But i dont get it, i see mickey with seattleversus, asking people to support and try to get involved. Mickey did it ever occur to u that maybe u could of came to me and did a piece on this ranking chart and I could of cross promote with u and talked about it. U could of fuckin interview me and we could of got all this out professionally. But now, u just shit on it, why? Because u guyz feel u are being forced into somehting? come on man ,tthis shit is bigger than us. If u dont like it and dont wanna participate thats ok. I know eventually u guys will fal in place but im not forcing u. This is something puerly for the players in the NW and it will be the players in the NW that mold it to perfection. Also, i been a top player for 20 years, im sorry you guys are silly for thinking taking a break is going to do something for u. Or thinking, oh i can wait for super to get started with being serious, its pointless to play sf4 now. U are WRONG, the people staying sharp now will clean your clock the second this shit launches cause they are still practicing where u will be out of practice and trying to ramp up. So no "well i challenged so and so, and they said we cant play till sat…but bokkin got to dude first by weds, they HAVE to play. U can not use an excuse that u are waiting UNLESS u are about to play that SAME DAY. No law away challenges

I usually don’t post on SRK but i just go on here to challenge Zafo and was greeted by whole pile of crap that really irritated me. So i wrote up the following:
The people who think they have nothing to gain from the BOTNW need think big picture about where the dojo, and by proxy our scene, is headed. The reason why people across the country flock to play in SoCal or NY is because they hope to compete against known players like Edma, Justin Wong, Combofiend, etc. Our scene has top players but hardly anyone knows who Awesome Jones or Future are on a national level. Now that?s no disrespect to them as players, both are fantastic and deserve recognition, however, they lack the necessary exposure because they play in Seattle.
Now as Cole said before, he?s been in the scene for nearly 20 years and there?s hardly a serious player out there that hasn?t heard of the two time EVO champion Afrocole. Whether you?d like to admit or not his presence alone lends us, as up and coming players, a level of legitimacy we would not normally be able to achieve outside of placing high at a major tournament. We all now have an opportunity to get our names out there on a national level so when EVO rolls around no one will say there?s some bison player playing Justin Wong. They?ll say oh my god Riki-Oh versus Wong lets go watch. It’s a great way to improve both your own status while augmenting the stature of our scene.
I understand that players like Mickey D and Mandel have their own ways of leveling up their games and by all means I encourage you to do so. However, realize that you guys hurt us all, albeit indirectly, by not putting yourselves out there as the torchbearers for our scene.

I just got done job searching, not only for my own personal well being and living status, but so that I can get prepared for Evolution. And I see this. You’ve made phone calls, but you didn’t make one to me, and instead decided to post this, so I’ll reply.
I get it. You’re mad that we don’t really wanna participate or that we’re doing so on our own terms. I don’t care about the ranking system itself, but don’t you find it funny that people that are going lower in the list to challenge me? Wouldn’t something like that make you happy? Wouldn’t me challenging Nolan (who’s lower than I am I might add) to a ft29 make you happy? Wouldn’t something like me challenging Jared to a ft22 as well as accepting EVERY SINGLE CHALLENGE I HAVE RECEIVED THUS FAR, make you happy? Hell, I’m playing Bokkin to a ft100 series. Please tell me how many times I’ve played Carlos in a non TW setting, cause it’s only been once. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not tripping about my placement at all. I coulda just not accepted any challenges, and not proposed any challenges myself and had not participated in any fashion at all. I thought all that would’ve shown you I’m proactive in terms of practice and seriousness. While I wasn’t interested in the ranking system at all, it inspired me and made me wanna challenge other people as well as accept challenges. I’m not turning my back on anybody. And if the system simply is promoting people to play each other (as you put it yourself) and it should’ve shown you that it did in my scenario, then WTF is the problem? The idea that I’m being selfish and don’t care about my community is the most laughable thing I ever heard in my life. See if you can find someone more proud to be from this area than I am and I’ll be surprised. Shit I’m probably too EAGER to wanna help and teach others. And like I said earlier, I accept all challenges from this day forward. Fuck numbers. Period. If you wanna challenge, make it be known, and I’ll add you to the list. No negativity here. There’s nothing I’m harboring against anybody, I’m here to play. My eye is on Evolution. We’ve got three months. And that leads to this…
If you think me and Mickey are just sluffin on our collective games with a “break” then you’re trippin. He’s been playing and we’ve been brainstorming shit together. Just cause you don’t see it doesn’t mean it ain’t happening. In fact, I’ve started learning Ryu to give myself a reason TO play the game more often now while waiting for Super. I’ve got my own personal ideas of how I wanna play this game but with that said I’m still in TW. I’ll still be accepting challenges as well as challenging other people as well. And if you wanna know who else I was interested in challenging, I wanted to challenge Delucifer, Future, and Francis as well. So the cat’s out of the bag. And that other shit about me being weak or some shit against people who are in practice or whatever, peep game I only played for 2 hours the week leading up to Bloody Knuckles. So if I even WANTED to take that route, I think I’d be okay.
