You can DHC glitch from Raven Spike to Skrull Torch if your opponent is in the corner. Skrull Torch ends if it hits a wall, so you’ll recover in time to launch if you time it right.
EDIT: Oh, with Trish you can go into Round Harvest, although it’s a little hard to continue your combo with them flying off into the sky. You can do Akuma’s Messatsu-Goshoryu and time it so the first few hits whiff and the rest do damage with reset scaling. I’d say you can get a little mileage out of the DHC glitch for pretty much any second character.
Pretty much agree with everything Deacon_ncc said, with one addition. The team synergy should work both ways. It is not just about the Assists, but also just how good the character is and how much that character benefits from Jill herself. With that in mind, everyone form your favourite characters works with Jill to some extend. Even if Wolverine doesn’t provide great assists for Jill he heavily benefits from Jill’s Arrow Kick (for his :df:+:m: relaunch and raw combos from AK) and he is just an incredibly good character himself. I do agree that Dante might still be the best choice overall.
I would also like to add about Trish. While the DHC reset isn’t that good with her. She is still one of the better picks. She has pretty much everything you’d ever wish for except high damage output. However, I feel that she is better used first with Jill, simply because Trish can adapt to pretty much any strategy with her unique playstyle. If all fails, she still has that Round Harvest hyper on block that gives her a free tag out.
What about Jill (flip kick), Ryu (Tatsumaki Senpukayku), and Wesker (Samurai Edge), or Jill (flip Kick), Ryu (Tatsumaki Senpukayku), and Dormammu (Purification)? Would those be a good team?
Not sure how good the second team is, but there’s no real reason to have Jill and Wesker on the same team and place them apart when you can use the DHC reset for ToD combos. Since Ryu is a crappy anchor, try Ryu/Jill/Wesker. Also, maybe it’s just me, but I prefer Arrow Kick for Jill, because it allows Wesker to do extended combos leading to a full Phantom Dance juggle (about 700,000 damage if done right).
I didnt think arrow kick could be a useful assist but I did try the team. Its not bad but if you feel Ryu is crappy who would be a good replacement for him?
I’m in love with Jill (arrow kick), Dante (Weasel Shot), and Wesker (otg). 2 targets for DHC glitch, Jill can get in using Dante and mix up/ unblockable set ups with Wesker; The Jill sandwich is just so delicious. Dante gets a free combo to super off of arrow kick as well as a pesky low hitting assist for mix ups annnnd Wesker lengthens combos with either assist.
Also as previously stated Jill’s gun super is a decent dhc option off of Dante’s in the corner.
I currently run (as a fun team) Chris (Gunfire assist), Jill (Arrow Kick) and Wesker (Low Shot).
I use a very simplle strategy with this team. I use Chris to build meter until he dies, using Jills arrow kick assist to OTG when needed. Afterwards when Jill comes in, I try and set up a Raven spike combo then DHC to Weskers Counter for the DHC glitch.
Right now I am just playing around with the team, but it is starting to look viable.
Jill and Amaterasu work really well together.
So do Jill and Tron.
And Tron and Amaterasu don’t exactly hate each other.
It’s a team that can consistently build meter. All three characters have tricks that can throw people off when they have meter (invul on machine gun/lvl 3 tron, dhcing one into another into another, slow down/INSTRUMENT BLOW UP, etc). They play pretty different from one another, so if the opponent can’t switch playstyles, you have a better chance at winning (esp with x factor). All three can use x factor well, whether to kill in a combo, or for shenanigans like lvl 3 xf mad beast jill. People should seriously learn how to play her like that, it’s awesome how quickly you can get around. Did I mention DHC glitching for ultimate lulz?
The assists work well together, too (kinda). Jill loves gustaf for gtfo and quick lockdown. She loves coldstar for “one free mix-up, plox”. Tron loves it for the same reason (and because it makes her combos become ridiculously painful. I can’t figure out what Jill assist to use for when, though.
Amaterasu <3’s tron (really, who doesn’t?)
So many things right. Fun thing to try when you’re winning and just want to try to end it:
Amaterasu
Jill
xxx (dead)
slow super DHC lvl 3 Jill XFC > whatever mixup you feel like trying. Add Cold Star when you want.
How about X-23 (ankle)/Jill (arrow)/Sentinel (drones)? Sentinel still has dat X-Factor, and this team actually uses Jill’s DHC reset (X-23’s isn’t as good). Although, this team has a low health issue because of the Sentinerf, so I’m not sure.
Was using Deadpool (Quick Work) / Jill (Arrow Kick) / Arthur (Torches) with some success but the health is an issue and I think there could be other better matchups.
Tried Deadpool/Viper/Jill and it SUCKED so I’m thinking hard on this one. Help?
Characters I play are Arthur, Chris, Viper, Thor, Trish, Deadpool, Morrigan and Hulk.
sentinel can do everything tron can for jill except you trade trons fire assist for sent drones. Which in my opinion is a better assist for jill as she needs that extra help getting in, and jill already can punish people for rushing her down. She doesn’t need a “get off me assist”. That said I prefer Tron but maybe legend would enjoy sentinel.
The team I’m currently working with is Jill - B/ Akuma - Y or Ryu - B/ Chun-Li - B or Y. The reason for her team mates: Akuma/ Ryu since I feel comfortable fighting these characters and Chun-Li for pressure and air combos. I’m not all hard core like a lot of players but I just feel confident with this team set-up.
My beta Jill team was Jill/Sent/Mag. 2 out of the 3 can set up the DHC trick and anyone/Sent/Mag is good. Plus drones ler her do her mixup.
BUT since the Sent patch he’s a risky assist unless you want to burn gun supers to try and keep him safe.
My new team is Jill/Joe/Dante. Jill sets up the DHC trick for either character and both assists work for Jill in combos, ESPECIALLY Joe. If you’ve seen my combo clips you’ll know. This team kind of makes Jill the centerpiece though and I like to pick her on point because of the DHC trick so if she dies early it’s a rough battle even though Joe/Dante work really well together. Dante’s Ice covers Joe perfectly for all his mixups.
