Well after a Raven Spike, you can DHC into Golden armor and combo afterward. You can do it after a MGS as well, but a combo afterward isn’t always guaranteed
I’ve been thinking about a Jill, vergil team… But… I’m very new to the game and don’t understand the intricacies of the game yet. Who would be a good anchor? Could Jill possibly have cheap mixups benefitting from rapid slash? How good is rapid slash?
I’m thinking of Jill, taskmaster, Vergil.
Vergil is a stupid good anchor and Rapid Slash can setup some mixups, but it’s counter productive because it pulls your opponent away instead of keeping them stationary. The DHC between Jill/Vergil is deadly though. You could Play Jill/Vergil/Strider which is a really strong Jill team.
how exactly does jill capitalize off strider can someone enlighten me? i know she can get nice wakeup mixups going but very vaguely also keeping them grounded is good but i feel im missing something…?
When it comes to comboing wouldnt it be kinda counter productive/limiting too and can she confirm off it in any other way than the raven dp+l thing?
Jill gets more or less the same options as she would with an OTG assist without comboing off her air throws, she can use the Double Ender as wel
She gets REALLY good Resets
Some of the best Oki
Combo Extenders
Hard-Knockdown on Air opponents means that she can move in and get that Okizeme stated
Makes some of her bad matchups pretty even (Trish, baby!)
etc.
She gets the best wakeup resets all the time with it,Even if your opponent blocks it you have time for about two mixups up close, and about 2 dashes to move in. Jill NEEDS an anti-air to deal with characters at superjump height, and Strider’s the best at what he does.
Strider on point with Jill has alot of crazy setups too. My Strider on point Combo does about 670K using Jill’s Arrow Kick assist.
interesting stuff do you have any vids around so i could see all this in action?!
Check out my youtube account at youtube.com/SexualRice.
I have a couple vids up of me playing online through terrible ass connections and good ones.
I really like the team strider being my best character is perfect im going to try out the duo next time i get into the lab
Glad you like it.
im thinking of using a beam assist my only worry is how this kind of jill would fare against heavy zoning(thats all that happens here in uk) or more to the point how imposing can the team get or will i be constantly worrying about matchups im sure you would know best
with air throws ground throws im assuming you just use them to setup okizeme
Yup, I use them to setup Oki.
A Beam assist is great, I would go for it. Zoning isn’t that bad of a problem for Jill on point, the main way your going to stop zoning is by constantly being in their face so they can’t do it. Best way to do this is by Taking advantage of the start of the round and staying in. Feral Crouch Dash has a good amount of invincibility so that helps too. Jill should never let her opponent gain momentum. Finally, you can stop close up zoning attempts with Somersault. Learn to abuse that move.
I have to reform my team a little bit. After coming back from a long hiatus, the fact that Arthur is kind of just a frustrating turd that got screwed over on every possible angle just so he could be the worst character ever for no reason finally became an irritation.
I played with some characters for the anchor spot and thought Dante was kind of fun. I have no idea what I’m doing with him, but I’m hoping he’ll work. I’m already of the impression that Weasel Shot works very well as a pressure tool for Frank, my second character (using the cart, of course); and while I’m fairly confident Weasel Shot would do the same for Jill, I find myself in need of a little direction on whether or not it or any of Dante’s other assists actually compliment her and how.
Jill is using Arrow Kick to get Frank his two pictures for an instant Level 4, by the way.
Jill/Dante/Frank is pretty solid. Justin Wong is running that Jill team apparently.
Wong plays Dante now? I thought he was playing Vergil now
According to his Twitter, his Jill team is Jill/Dante/Frank.
I’m using Jam Session and Shopping Cart for assists now. I’ve seen them utilized a lot and their utility seems straightforward enough, but I must not know how to use them because every time I call them, they just get clobbered as soon as they come out and usually end up dying. How does Jill use these, and would I be better off picking different assists for them?
Shopping cart is like a better Tatsu. Your going to call it before or after a Feral Dash at the appropriate range. Try not to call it in a range where you both will get bopped by a c.L. You can also Cover it with Somersault or mix your opponent in blockstun up via 22S 9S or 6H.
Right now, I’m playing Jill/Storm/Strider and it’s too damn good. Once I get two bars, You cannot call any assist out without loosing a character. To make it better, Jill’s portion of the THC ends so quick she can do a FULL combo off of Hailstorm as well.
ooh why did you change to storm? whirlwind assist and despite her ass damage how good is she with strider? also check ur pm’s!
Does anyone know if jill is capable of getting any setups going from an L ensnarement?
Can’t decide which to go with…Jill/Dante/Strider or Jill/Hawkeye/Strider. I’m guessing the first one is better.
Thanks, NSR, I can always count on you.
Assists like Joe’s bomb, Chris’ mine, or Sentinel’s air raid will be delayed enough to fling them up with an OTG if called at just the right time before L Ensnarement. I don’t know if it’s impossible or just really hard to follow up with anything other than Raven Spike, though.
I don’t know, how does Jill with Greyhound sound to you? Sounds more cozy than anything Dante could offer in assists if you ask me since I like having that full-screen horizontal coverage, but I’m also kind of dumb.
This might be the single greatest thing I’ve ever heard in this game.
