Been awhile Man! Yeah, Unfortunately about 4 months in I got some bad news. My fiance is dealing with medical issues that I’d rather not discuss (you can PM me if you like :slight_smile: ), but god/allah/budah willing when she gets better We’ll get the train back on track haha. I actually did end up selling marvel, but Gamestop offered me like $1 for it, so I ended up leaving it in the parking lot. A month or so later, I got Arkham asylum, wasn’t feeling it and re bought marvel.

That aside, I don’t play Marvel on a competitive level because I’m more of a labcoat than anything haha.

I would play Jill/Dante/Strider too if I liked Strider at all but I find it hard to pick up characters that appeal to me in this game anyway. I like how strider keeps them on the ground and in a wake up position
for your team though, too bad I don’t like strider much, or Dante lol (so much dame work with him lol). If game stop won’t give me much for it, then I’m just gonna
sell it to a friend for 15 dollars. If that fails then I’ll just keep it. I’m going back to Cali… I mean Tekken, when that drops in Sep it was nice leveling up with you guys though. Sorry to hear about your Fiance, God/Allah/Budah be with the both of you. Since your a lab coat not sure if you know, apparently RR can also take advantage of the capture state glitch I wonder if Shuma can too, just thought i would but that out there for the thinkers like you.

I feel you! Marvel’s a really random, and bad game. It’s really addicting and has alot of little creative aspects to it, which keeps me here, but besides that I would encourage you to go back to Tekken.

Are you talking about the Capture state glitch with V.Joe’s bomb? I haven’t tested that yet, but I know Jill can take advantage of the hitstun glitch with the Bomb itself (If you block the bomb mid combo, hitscaling resets). Requires alot of impractical setups as for right now though

Question

Ive been trying to branch out and pick some new characters, and Jill is one of them. Im experimenting with two teams:

Jill(Cartwheel Kick), Ghost Rider (Heartless Spire), Vergil (Rapid Slash)
Jill(Somersault), Dr. Doom (Hidden Missiles), Vergil (Rapid slash)

The GR team is not too bad. It gives Jill an otg as well as a get off me move, and GR always build a crap load of meter for Vergil to abuse in the back. The Doom team is pretty nice as well. And I like using rapid slash with Jill so that when i call Vergil, she can go into feral crouch and follow him across the screen relatively safely which can lead to cross ups and not being able to really focus on where jill is on the screen .

Which is the better team? Does Jill have to have an otg?

The second team by far.GR is a character who needs a team dedicated to him, and Jill as well is a character who needs a team dedicated to her. The first time all have the same problem, and have more or less the same bad matchups.

Jill doesn’t need an OTG, most of her combos can be done in the same way without the use of an otg assist. The only thing you don’t get without an otg is a combo after Throw, which is fine since Jill has some of the best Okizeme in the game anyway (unscaled reset or scaled reset? Prefrence).

Play Jill/Vergil/Doom, it’s a stronger team. The DHC from Jill’s Raven Spike/MGS to Swords is extremely potent and allows full screen projectile invulnerability (MGS–> Spiral swords will go through almost everything). I don’t really like Doom’s missles since Jill and Vergil aren’t the best at protecting the assist call, I would use Rocks/Plasma Beam, but that’s just me.

Yea I ran Doom as anchor for awhile im just not very confident with doom anchor anymore. If my opponent gets close to me for whatever reason I start panicing and start just going dumb (foot diving for no reason at all), and thats never a very good idea. And with hidden missiles, at least I have an opportunity for an otg. Im still very new to Jill and Im not really too confident with her combos yet. Idk maybe I should drop Doom from that team.

Why not try Jill/Frank/Vergil or Jill/Vergil/Frank?

Jill and Frank has some nice Synergy and he’s not as demanding as Doom. Both Jill and Vergil can get him to 4 (or 5 in vergil’s case) off one hitconfirm, and they both benefit from Frank’s cart assist.

I actually played a Nova,Dante,Frank team, so I can play Frank. But my worry is if I dont level him up fast, Ill end up with level one frank as anchor real quick, since both Jill and Vergil dont have a lot of life. Ive definitely made some level 1 frank comebacks before, but It just seems risky to me. I can try it out though. Any other suggestions?

Well both Jill and Vergil can easily get frank to 4 with one hitconfirm, so it shouldn’t be mich of a problem.

Vergil can do it meterless too if I remember correctly

i main joe/wesker/hawkeye so if i could just do a simple swap and have joe/jill/hawkeye that would be nice but y’all are the jill experts not me!

Jill and Joe don’t have much synergy going on unfortunately, however that doesn’t mean there isn’t any!

In this team, I think Jill/Joe/Hawkeye works Optimally. Jill can take advantage of Joe’s V.Bomb for alot of OTG Setups like Chris’ mine and can take advantage of the Slow DHC for good mixups. However, Joe doesn’t really help Jill in the neutral game and doesn’t help her THC wise. On the other hand, VJoe Doesn;t really benefit from Jill, However you can try any of her assists as combo extenders.

In my most honest opinion though, Perhaps put Joe on a different team? There’s a bit of synergy but as a whole, Jill/Joe is lacking.

Is Arthur/Sent a redundant pairing for Jill? I’m a new player, and I love the feel of both characters, but I know their best assists serve similar purposes.

Arthur/Sent works actually. It’s a bit redudant, and you lack an anti air, but you can still do great with it.

Both Jill/Sent/Arthur and Jill/Arthur/Sent can work really well. The only problem is that once Jill dies, your incomming options with Arthur and sent are really bad. I think Sent/Arthur is sufficient enough though.

yeah i kinda saw that as i soon as i tried that team. i just don’t know too many characters and wanted some characters i knew how to play for backup.

Thanks for this. What are my best options for getting Gold Armor on? I’m trying to figure out how to order the team. I know Jill is a point character, but I’ve thought about starting Arthur so I can throw some daggers, build a bit of meter, and Gold Armor DHC into Jill to really get things going.
