Keep your distance, use H Pulse at every chance you get and chuck Javelins. If he super jumps and you’re close to the corner, slide under him. If you’re in the corner and want to escape, get some breathing room and do super jump > heavy human rocket punch (careful you don’t get obvious with it, he might punish with a super jump pipe and you don’t want that). You have Chris to help zoning which is good. If you can, try to set up a quick high-low mixup every time he’s forced to block chris’ machine gun (I’m assuming that’s the assist you’re using). That’s really all I can say. Stay patient and stay solid. Remember, H Pulse.
Oh, well, the H pulse would work. But Haggar is backed up by Chris, not me lol
I’m a little skeptical with the rocket punches. I’ve seen Tayson? try to outrun Chris G’s haggar in SBA with H rocket punch
Oh I’m dumb my bad. Well in that case scratch the part about using Chris’ Assists for a high-low. Instead if you can get him to block a cold star, go for mixups then. Watch out how you call her, you don’t want to get hpbd’d by Haggar
Ok
sounds cool. I’ll implement that idea thanks
I play a decent Haggar on a regular basis and we go about 50/50. Backing up Blue Lightning on that one, just stay the fuck away and throw that shield out. Nova loses to Haggar up close, but dominates him from far away. Gun Fire probably makes getting the shield out freely a little more annoying, so just be careful throwing it out. Push block the pipe a lot and use a zoning assist against him (RR has Pendulum, Doom has Plasma Beam, nice secondary team btw). And just don’t get up in his grill.
While I haven’t labbed it to verify admittedly, Chris gun assist actually will likely cause a lot of problems with Grav pulse H being that it’s 8 1 durability bullets. Could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure those won’t trade properly. I’d test that to make sure. Regardless, your goal against Haggar is guerrilla warfare; primarily keepaway, but looking for opportunities (safely backed by assists) to get hit confirms while he’s trying to approach to sneak in a hit confirm.
I actually ran a set last night with one of the best players in the scene who runs Haggar/Task/Deadpool and even though Nova can keep him out that shit is really hard just because of the numbers game. 1.2 million health in chip and occasional javelin/pulse/assist hits is a really long road and it only takes one screw up to lose it all.I actually killed Haggar in one game entirely off non-clean hits and it took like…40-50 marvel seconds. And the thing about rocket punching away is that Haggar can’t easily catch you (unless he’s a solid wavedasher) once you get the punch off, so it’s just a matter of knowing when to take the super jump and doing it.
So yeah, winnable with paitence, but a very low tolerance for screwing up. Obviously you can go for more aggressive play in hopes of speeding up the matchup but smart haggars will blow you up for that if your approach/strings leavegaps.
So this might’ve been a question answered earlier? I was trying to browse through this thread but this is a super basic question problably.
I’m running Nova/Task/Spencer. So, I can do the combo with Spencer assist into the crumple without the H and S after the forward H. My issue is coming into where I call the Spencer assist after a standing H and S. Any tips for utilizing Spencer’s assist to the max potential? It just seems the timing is really off for it
myyy teaammm =)))) lol…I don’t really know what the question is but if this helps, whenever you call the assist like that, you do: H+assist, S xx TK Nova Strike H
idk if you’ve seen my videos so…

2 videos concentrating on this team.
umm why do his pulse and super sometimes become big ?
If he has 1-20% red life, he spends it all on a slightly better beam. 21%+ gets you an even better beam.
They do more damage, have special properties, etc.
Damn that Nova/Taskmaster/Spencer video really makes a good case to have Taskmaster second. I’d love to give Spencer a horizontal assist, but I like the easy DHC from an air sphere hyper, which Spencer can’t really do.
@dougiie yeah man! I totally use your videos for reference! It’s just the h +assist ->S->TK H nova strike is really killing me. Whenever I get the H+assist to come out, the launcher launches them into the sky. Am I just not timing it right or what?

When are you doing that? After Fly Unfly in the corner? You’re most likely doing it too fast I think. I used to have that problem a lot…I just don’t remember what I did to solve it. I know after getting a hard knockdown and doing f.H for the S xx TK strike the problem I had was pressing S too fast so I’m assuming that problem also goes for the fly unfly.
Yo, shoutout to Moons for implementing basically all the new Nova tech posted in the past few weeks hahaha
LMAO YO I was thinking the SAME THING!!! I was like yo, idc if I’m from NYC and don’t compete…Moons can compete for me lmaoooo
Haha yeah, when Yipes was all shocked at the new stuff i was just sat here thinking, hey come check out the Nova forums sometime, i know we’re all scrubs compared to the mighty Yipes but we have some good ideas sometimes.
lmao DEAD ASSS!! I love Yipes and all but seeing the stream chat and everyone there going ape shit made me laugh cuz I’ve seen it allllll before. Nonetheless, shout outs to Moons for doing his thing…definitely put himself on my “Favorite Players” list.
Yup, I noticed all of it. Those antiair M Pulses. Those team specific combos. Too solid.
Remind me the use of anti air M pulses
Also, loving Moons. One of my favourite players to watch
