Been a long time, so I forgot.
Too bad the hackers couldn’t get Sony to sell the Spider-man film rights back to Marvel studios.
Rhio2k:
I don’t agree with the threat and hacking…but who the fuck is so droll as to make a movie about killing a real, living person as opposed to an expie or an long dead famous person, like Hitler? I would’t call it an act of war, but Butterball has every right to see it as a direct threat. This movie was a dumb idea.
You mean like the movie “Death of a President” which came out in 2006 about the assassination of then president George Bush…
Spirit_Juice:
To be fair, hacking is a lot easier to do than building a god damn nuclear missile.
What I don’t get is Sony/Hollywood taking the physical threats to heart. I mean after the hackings, the threats probably have more weight, but at the same time, I don’t think N. Korea is stupid enough to kill some innocent people and celebrities over a movie at risk of military retaliation.
Well imagine the PR nightmare Sony would be going through if they did release the movie. People saying that its Sony’s fault that my son died or something like that.
When someone asks if your a marshmallow, you say YES!
Apparently the hackers have responded to Sony pulling the movie - http://money.cnn.com/2014/12/19/media/insde-sony-hack-interview/index.html
It is very wise that you have made a decision to cancel the release of the interview. It'll be very useful for you...
...We still have you sensitive and private data. We ensure the security of your data, unless you make additional trouble.
Now we want you never let the movie released, distributed or leaked in any form of, for instance, DVD or piracy.
And we want everything related to the movie, including its trailers, as well as its full version down from any website hosting them immediately.

On Saturday, North Korea described the American claims that it was behind the attacks as slander, and warned the United States not to reject its offer of a joint investigation, the statement carried by the state-run Korean Central News Agency said, according to The Associated Press.
It quoted the unidentified spokesman as saying that any joint inquiry would prove that the North was not behind the cyberattack.
“The U.S. should bear in mind that it will face serious consequences in case it rejects our proposal for joint investigation and presses for what it called countermeasures,” the spokesman said, The A.P. reported.
“We have a way to prove that we have nothing to do with the case without resorting to torture, as what the C.I.A. does,” the statement said.
