You guys really don’t understand the scope of the information these “hackers” have. Having your information leaked, including but not limited to payment card information, would deal a large amount of damage.
Then again, I doubt you guys would really care unless the hackers remote deauthorized/deactivated your Playstation.
No. Some random member of Anonymous in Mexico got busted, and the Cartels took him, so Anonymous threatened to release all the info they had on the Zeta Cartel if he wasn’t released, and the Zeta’s complied, but still killed some people to make them stick to their word. Then Anonymous stopped bothering Zeta.
So nice that Canada yet again proves we are the bastion of free speech and hope that America stopped being 40 years ago.
I really don’t think SONY gives a shit about the movie and whatever “danger” they thought was going to happen. All this is just a smokescreen and they claim they’re taking the high road by not releasing the movie but really it’s what other information the hackers were going to release is what they’re afraid of.
All this blame on NK seems too easy. It’s like a CSI episode where the main villain was known too early but really it’s someone else.
But that information has already been stolen by some shady motherfuckers, the thing that’s worse than ID theft is ID theft where you don’t know what has been compromised and can potentially not notice money being stolen over a period of time.
Cant help but feel its safer to have it released so people can go “Shit! Better change my details asap” and not be walking around with someone else knowing all your details with your only security being their word (worth fuck all) that they’ll do nothing bad with them.
I’ve had a friend that has his identity stolen once. It wasn’t fun and was pretty serious fucking business. The threat of having your identity stolen is pretty real and shouldn’t be thought of lightly.
That shit SUCKS. I accidentally left my wallet in a fellow srk member’s aunt’s car, saw it on the back seat as she drove off, but she didn’t notice me running behind her car apparently. She drove straight back to…whatever state she’d come from, and I like the 16 year old optimist that I was, assumed everything would be all right. 2 years later I find out about college loans (that had been paid off), a Fingerhut account that had been closed in good standing, and a couple small amounts of money that was owed and never repaid…the culprits? 2 illegals in some migrant worker camp in West Virginia. Got it cleared up, but didn’t hear about the fuckers being arrested or deported. That shit took like 9 months. That pretty much soured my attitude toward those “poor unfortunates” in the shadows getting a free ride on stolen id and ssn.
I can’t find the link, but I read that the FBI believes that NK should financially compensate Sony for the damage done by the hack.
As if I wasn’t already pissed enough. A multibillion dollar company, and it was their fucking fault that they had such piss poor security. So what should a country do that doesn’t pay to feed their fucking citizens? Give said multibillion dollar company MO MONEY! OF COURSE, THAT MAKES TOTAL SENSE.
Not apologizing for North Korea, but fuck the feds, and fuck Sony. Sony: Chalk it up to your own stupidity, eat the loss your damn self. Feds, fuck you, start telling North Korea to feed its citizens and not the corporate fat fucks at Sony.
