I don’t see why the ranbats vs WNB thing is even an issue since the gboro ranbats are on thursday now. Just go to both.

It’s not ranbats vs WNB, the bolded part is the issue right now. NO ONE from the usual Greensboro scene showed up yesterday besides my friend Max (who barely has time to go anywhere) and myself (I live in Raleigh).
People have been spiting the Greensboro ranbats not because they’re not playing for money, but because no one fucking shows up. So everyone who says they don’t wanna go are just en-route to supporting the self-fulfilling prophecy that ensues: “Oh nobody’s gonna be there, so I won’t go.” This prophecy also applies to showing up late to tournaments.
So you have guys driving from 30 minutes to over an hour to show up for a tiny 5-7 man ranbat to show their dedication and you have you guys who live 5-10 minutes away from High Point road who don’t wanna go because they don’t have the chance to win $20.
Of course people who have a job when the ranbats are running have an excuse.
I’m just curious if you have read over the info at all cause the Season 2 prize is for Final Round. Seasons Beatings was just a bonus thing I was going to do so people that wanted to go could go to a major while waiting for FR to get here.
SieClayton please keep what we talked about under your hat. I am sure you already know that but I will announce it at the main gathering in 6 weeks, after people have a nice amount of points.

Just wanted to thank arm and jon for good games last night in the kof. Much fun was had and I feel like I learned a good bit as well. I need to get my Liz combos on arms level lol. Time to hit the lab again!

Yeah GGs guys had a lot of fun yesterday. I am definitely going to learn a new character to replace Leona for now since while she does have some good stuff I am not good enough execution wise to do a lot of it and that is really hurting me versus better players. I was really noticing a lot of her weaknesses vs characters like Ex Kyo.
I need to get better at the game before I can use one of the more technical characters.
Also I need to get a lagless TV to practice on. That is one huge thing I learned from yesterday.
I have been practicing up Saiki. He is so freaking good and I feel like he will cover my team’s bad matchups pretty well. He also does way too much damage in the corner wtf. I got a 790 dmg corner combo for HD + 1 bar after spending like 30 minutes in training with him. That is more than Mature’s HD + 3 rofl.
Yeah, I’m kinda pissed about the change to Thursday- it made it impossible for me to go. If it ran on Wednesdays I’d still be going. This might change next month though, at least somewhat.
KOF… where?
I usually show up to everything out here but unfortunately I couldn’t afford it this week. I could either go to WNB or the ReSe ranbat. I’ve went to every other gboro ranbat but since I had to choose, I went to the one that had better competition in the game I like to play the most.
Its funny that you call out Greensboro after the first thing they supposedly did “wrong”. Greensboro is very dedicated and travels to almost everything when they can… but ill leave it at that.
Now to try and clear up this ranbat stuff. As many of you may know Im now in NYC so I’ve been talking to players in NC to get there opinion on ranbats. Im on the outside looking in but I think I got all the evidence gathered and Im ready to go into TURNABOUT MODE(See what I did there it was a Phoenix Wright joke lololololololol) Anyways… it just seems like there is a lack of interest. Not saying that Greensboro are just in it for cash payout tournements, but the ranbat is such a long process that very few people want to be commiteted to for that long for many reasons. Some arent interested in the prizes offered, some don’t know what will be going on in there lives when the time comes around for the particular major. And most dont feel like they need it to go the majors anyway. If Greensboro is gonna go to a major they will go regardless of the ranbat or not. So instead of taking the chance and just pay for someone else to go to(insert major here) they would just rather play it safe. I also recall there being some kind of issue with the points in the last ranbat a sudden jump in points or something like that.
HOWEVER I feel like this mis communication could have been avoided by both parties. Greensboro could have done a better job of speaking up and voicing there opinion on the matter rather than just letting it unfold the way it did. And Tactics pleas dont feel disrespected be Gboro in anyway, you did nothing wrong, They still respect you and appreciate everything you have done for the community, but maybe you should ask the community what they would rather have happen because right now Im just speaking on Greensboro behalf when I know other people in the other communities feel the same way.
