North Carolina Thread LXV "Farewell NC"

Like I said before and I’ll say it again, prove me wrong. I have absolutely NO PROBLEM being wrong about this, especially if its GG. As they say “time will tell,” but I’m spoiling the ending now.

And about the gatherings at my place I did mention there’s a game room with three TVs already installed there and with plenty of room, a place that can hold a lot more room than just one of two people. If its just one or two people we can just play in my room instead of setting up everything in the game room, which to help out with gatherings posted a while ago that its there and open for use.

Now to find Geo and whoever else while down there.

EDIT: Back when Austin was talking about how he misses GG and how he plays BB I posted somewhere around that time that I still have GG for PS2, but nobody in my area plays it. And that it sucked because the person who I could probably meet up and play it with left the state. I even mentioned that I have MB, way before AA:CC was mentioned, for PS2. Brent is the only one I know who responded on playing MB and Brandino is out of the state.

Whatever man. Like I said, if you’re free today, let’s play.

A few things:

  1. Blake you are awesome. Before I read your long post justifying Guilty I “liked” it just cause I knew it would be good.

  2. I remember Mike talking about GG before yesterday. But seriously dude don’t be so negative. EVERY GAME has an influx of people at first that eventually levels off. SF4, Marvel, Tekken, 3SO, etc. Your negativity will not stop this trend from happening. So you are doing nothing but hurting the game before it comes out. I have your same feelings about quite a few games as well but I refuse to announce them like you have because I would love be wrong. And although you would love to be wrong about GGAC+ you’re actually hurting its chances of being successful in this state beyond just the veterans.

And most importantly:

3. People are not gonna be ready for Fluffy.

Fuck Fluffy.

HEY MIKE DO YOU WANT TO PLAY GAMES TODAY?

Yeah, like Blake said, there’s no reason for any of the good GG players in this state to travel to you, because we wouldn’t get anything out of it. If you come to me, I’ll beat you for free using nothing but Random Select, but honestly, I’m better off in training mode.

Also, yeah, you’re wrong. About everything. Everything that you say about fighting games. Like, really, all of it.

EDIT: Fluffy is bullshit.

I don’t know if you seen my post or not but I am def in for a PS3 copy!!! That is going to be default for ReSe unless there is some crap that Capcom got lazy on and it runs better on 360

Thanks!!! Also a strat would be on my list too!!

The thing is, I have to be in Raleigh tonight ANYWAY and I always get a kick out of raping scrubs in GG, especially talkative ones. Heck, I could even make a game out of it. Sure, I could Dragon Install him a few times, but I could say “well, I wonder if I could kill him with JUST Dragon Installs?” Like, literally, the only move I hit you with would be Dragon Install or combo into Dragon Install. That would be funny.

SO YEAH MIKE, YOU WANNA PLAY TODAY? Shit, we don’t even have to play GG. You wanna play Tekken? How about KOF? BB? I’m fiending anyway and any practice for Final Round would be good, even if it’s just glorified training dummy practice.

There is always something to gain when you play someone, regardless of whether you’re better or not: you have fun. That’s what we play games for right? For fun! The fun of bantering with friends, of testing your skill against that of another, of watching someone get better under tutelage, of getting that eureka! moment of comprehension, or (finally!) managing to do something you coudn’t before.

This bickering is needless. Perhaps I’m wrong, I’m new, and this is just an energetic debate among friends and colleagues but text is a difficult medium to convey meaning and people can take things the wrong way by accident.

That being said, I’m excited for this Guilty Gear port since I never got the chance to play it. Hell, I’m excited for every game I play. I just love attempting to understand mechanics and why developers designed things to be that way.

Now for some newbie questions: Why would a CRT tv be preferable? Will there be a guide for BBCSEX? I found these: http://www.ecrater.com/p/9868306/blazblue-calamiy-trigger-ps3-xbox-360 http://www.ecrater.com/p/9306378/blazblue-continuum-shift-complete-guide but I don’t know japanese and they are for older versions of BB games.

If only other games got the UMvC3 treatment.

I don’t understand why you hate on this game but play Marvel? You haven’t even played it yet  I guess it’s the popular thing to do huh?

SFxT is going to be the new hotness and possibly take over AE but that has yet to be seen. Until you stop playing Marvel then I can’t take your knocking any other game as anything but a troll  lol

Its the Gems; they smell like pay to win.

Man, sofaking woke the fucking dragon.

Fluffy the Biting Dragon is to be feared.

Titus: If you intend to play GG on a PS2, a CRT is pretty much necessary, unless you have a shitload of money to spend on an external scaler to hook your PS2 up to an HDTV. This is why AC+ on PS3/360 is a pretty big deal.

And I just donate my last CRT to Goodwill last week…

Which game has better netcode, King of Fighters XIII or Soulcal V?

I haven’t played KoF XIII but I do know SCV netcode is purely amazing. As always no netcode is perfect but I feel SCV has the best netcode of any fighter I’ve played to date (which is most of them sans KoF and T6)

Let’s have a old heads vs new scrubs tourney. It really seems like there needs to be some serious education that these fucking boards cannot facilitate. And whoever Mike is should really be careful and do more research before just venting on a board. It’s never productive. Oh yeah i need KOF practice bad. Looks like I’m gonna have to try and play some more games I know I’m not good at either. When is the GG and SCV session? Holla at me.

Well like Blake said, its a good thing its coming to PS3/360. Although… a CRT would STILL be preferable lol.

SCV by far. KOFXIII’s netcode doesn’t compare to SCV from my understanding.

Is anyone looking for a PS3 stick? I have an Madcatz SE with Sanwa parts but am considering getting an eightarc so I can play on my own controller at WNB.

That’s only if they are tourney legal. Tournament mode is supposed to help with the load out if it actually works but I am thinking that it should just be speed, strength, and defense default jems for tourneys. That would even out the playing field and keep it simple on TO’s

How much you asking for?
