Also I don’t know how many people are interested in VF5: Final Showdown, but if the training mode is anything like VF4: Evolution’s I will buy and play that game. Even if I have to travel to Japan to find competition. I’m waiting to hear info on a fighting game’s training mode, which is a first ever for me. Let’s see what the future holds.
No doubt. I have no illusions that I’m any good at KoF… I’m basically getting carried by my general fighting game fundamentals at this point. I really need to learn THE GAME and get a team I feel confident in through and through.

My Duo Lon actually gets me a lot of wins so I probably shouldn’t get rid of him. Kensou does a lot of work too so he should stay, plus I think he’s really good. My Takuma though… I dunno. Maybe I should switch him out for Benimaru or Hwa Jai. What do you guys think about that?

Replace Duo Lon with Beni, replace Takuma with Hwa, rearrange your order with Kensou first and decide whether you want Hwa or Beni as anchor (Beni’s probably a better choice). There, now you have a good team.
Are people still losing to Jon’s Duo Lon? That character is weak.
why would you replace takuma with anyone?
I just moved to Fayetteville, NC myself and am definately down for KOF tonight or tomorrow. I get my new eight arc stick today.
Duo Lon won me almost all my matches. He’s weak but he’s versatile atleast.
Valintines kept Me from RESE this Weekend but I did get some Nike Rookie Zoom Foamposites so I guess it wasnt ah bad trade off. LOL! Guess Final Rounds next & theres no way Ima miss d@. Good Shit Jon & Demo for holding down KOF. Ima stop loafing & come out & Compete Yo, real talk.

ReSe was a great experience for this improving rookie competitive player.
Definitely a hype event. Learned more about the game and what I need to do with my Marvel team. Especially Frank West.

As far as I can tell there aren’t any significantly weak characters in the game. I say you stick with duo lon Jon. Results always mean more than on-paper analysis anyways.

The Southtown Arcade event this weekend drew about similar numbers their KOF arcade event did.
I can easily see VF drawing KOF-numbers or better this time, though not locally (this state is crazy for its SNK, not so much for the VF)
Duo Lon has a gimmick factor if you can run him well- you can surprise some folks. That said, Jon, you won’t be able to win FR with Duo Lon the same way you can win locally, the top players know him too well- too much experience. As for Beni/Hwa Jai, they are slightly better chars then Takuma.

Thanks for coming out guys. I know we could have hit 100 but I forgot that Surge was going on at the same time. Some ATL and SC guys went there instead and Finger Cramp had that event so Jago and Remix couldn’t make it. Next time though, next time, lol.
NY guys were happy with everything and had a good time. They said they will def be back, maybe this 17th. I will let you guys know. They will def be bringing more people with them too

Cliff’s Notes version: Soul Calibur 2: In Raleigh I ran tournaments, built a community, travelled, got a job at the local arcade, imported the Gamecube version of the game, and overall busted my ass for that game. Turns out that Soul Calibur 2 is a shit game (explanations would require the full rage version). And Soul Calibur 3. And Soul Calibur 4. And I’d put money on Soul Calibur 5 being shit except that gambling isn’t fun when there’s no risk of losing (even if the game turns out to not be shit the community will find a way to fuck it up). Namco owes me $200 and 2 DVD-Rs for a fighting game series that’s just outside of Dead or Alive tier. I could go into more detail, but that would 1) be the full rage version, 2) end up beating a dead horse, 3) force me to use my “Always right” card.
