North Carolina Thread LXV "Farewell NC"

Will do .

I’d prefer him to constantly hate on capcom games and not support them like he does than the people that constantly hate on SF4 yet enter EVERY single tournament for it while being in those tournaments and hating on the game some more, then when they lose bitch some more about how they hate the game so much and why did I even enter it just to repeat the same insanity for the next tournament.

Although his quote isn’t entirely hate, it’s just that capcom games are easy to pick up hard to master types and how other games that are hard to pick up hard to master are less appealing to them. Atleast that’s how i’m interpreting it.

I wish Namco had put in a cheat code to unlock everything from the jump in this game. I rented this game and only had 2 days with it and I didn’t want to spend my first few hours trying to unlock as much as I could.

You gotta vs Blanka. I don’t think you actually can rush that character down. Like it’s just not physically possible with all of his defensive options.

I approve of getting KOF XIII. It is the awesome.

How dare you speak negative about a Capcom game. Now if you had said something about perhaps an SNK or EXAMU game that would be okay, even if they are better. :stuck_out_tongue:

Again, see you there. :)****

I’ll be at WNB for KoF this week for sure.

CGS was nice, my first sf tourney. I think I finished 5th which is much better than I expected. I lost to Jon twice, looking back on those matches I regret not switching to evil ryu. I was getting so close with makoto I thought i could pull through. But ggs to Jon, and Jason. And congrats to OJ

Out of curiosity, why Evil Ryu? Were you getting in often so you wish you had his damage? Just wondering what advantages he offered for the lesser amount of health/stamina.

The quote wasn’t intended as hate or about learning curve. I was just pointing out how casuals have been conditioned that Capcom games are the only ones that matter. (there was even some VF hate thrown in, though another guy thankfully told them they were clueless)

The thing is, right now, I’m positive about fighters for the first time in years. KOF’s awesome, VF is going to be awesome. SC5 is fun at least for now, and Skullgirls has potential to be great (I expect it to fall short, but the music and art will be awesome). I’m no longer searching for that next great game like I have been the last 2-3 years, it’s here, several of them.

Hate implies that you care. I no longer care what Capcom puts out. If they put something great out that will change, but if they don’t, oh well, I’m still going to have great games. It’s just indifference now.

I just wish I didn’t have to work all these weekends so I could get out. It was pretty easy to skip out when the games sucked, now it really sucks.

Evil Ryu does pretty bad against Fei.

Mainly for his shoryuken, I was getting blown up by the pressure, and there isn’t much i could do to get out of it. He also has a teleport, fireballs, and the walk speed comes in handy for footsies. Its not that i think the matchup is better, just different.

If anyone cares for the CGS bracket its here: http://www.carolinagamessummit.com/resampler.php?photoid=1807&full=1&compression=90&width=1723&height=1551

Nah bro u definitely got 4th at CGS if u are tim parker. I got 5th. I’m pretty sure it was you I started playing in casuals when I first got there

Oh cool, you’re the deejay/rose main then? ggs man

Yeah that was me. Playing on pad sucks lol. Next time it won’t even be close  ggs though man

Yeah I think sticking with Makoto was a good idea. She shuts down Fei’s jump in and my corner pressure game really well, and seems to go pretty even with him in pokes. I would have breathed a sigh of relief if you went evil ryu. Much more accustomed to fighting shotos than Makotos. Good stuff though, you had me sweating.

The Assyrian conquest of Egypt

In late spring of 671 BC Esarhaddon mustered his troops in an attempt to conquer Egypt and
defeat Taharqa once and for all. In the summer of 671 BC he invaded Egypt. Three fierce pitched
battles were fought on the 3 , 16 and 18 day of the month of Du’uzu (Tammuz).
On the twenty second of the same month Memphis, Taharqa’s capital, was conquered and sacked. Taharqa was wounded five
times by Esarhaddon’s arrows and fled , but his son and brothers were captured alive.
Esarhaddon entered Memphis in joy and sat on Taharqa’s[throne]. Taharqa’s gods and goddesses together with
all the palace possessions, Taharqa’s queen and secondary wives and Ushanhuru, the Nubian crown
prince (mâr ridûtîðu) were brought out of the city, and counted as spoil and taken back to Assyria.

May this day Assyria fall on her own sword. What goes around comes around. Thank you UN.

Um. What?

hehe…

James, I’ll be out for the KoF thing… still don’t have a converter but I’ll play on SOMETHING just to support it.
