i was at the zone friday night and man there are some great players in fayetteville i will be there this friday comeing up.

State gathering today made me realize…

I was one of the guys at the Boone gathering. Got totally trashed by Dhocke’s Akuma. Made me realize I’ve gone rusty in SSFIV since MvC3 came out. Everyone there got to see how salty I can be, heh. “Thats shit, man!”, “Come on! Your always jumping!”, and my personal favorite, “You know, I’ve only had 4 hours asleep. Otherwise I’d be destroying you!” Heh, I’m a Balrog player. What do you expect?
Got to play around with AH3 which I’ve never tried before. Looks like a really deep game and the mechanics are interesting. To bad they aren’t putting it out on XBLA. Looking forward to getting something setup again soon.
More great games at state tonight. I’d rather not have to wait until friday to play some more marvel, if anyone is down for some matches throughout the week let me know.
I really need to work on playing against wolverine/phoenix, got a lot of good practice against mags and zero.
Yeah I had a blast even though I got bodied the whole time. I’d definitely like to play MvC3 next time if anybody is up for it, but it seems like people are either neutral towards it or don’t like it at all haha.
Anyone who re-entered the scene with SFIV or have little experience with anime fighters have a lot trouble adapting to speed and combo system of a game like MvC3. I honestly need a tutor at this point, lol. I can watch it all day long but I get gun shy when trying to play it.
was there for a little bit around 7 last friday…mostly just to check out the venue…and yes it is pretty nice…am planning on making an appearance there in a couple weeks (outta town this weekend and next weekend)…
also on a side note…i found this on craigslist…its a ps3 TE stick(its not mine and i have no idea who it is)…just thought if someone was wanting one but short on cash this was only 35 bucks)

Thank You Everyone Who Came Down to Elite Zone Friday
Thanks again to everyone who showed up last night, It was nice meeting new faces on the scene.
Like William(Cornertrap) had posted earlier we have established a 5$ rate for all night play, the owner was very welcoming to support a scene for us here. Friday night was just getting the setup in place with the owner (John Larson) so we are still ironing out some ground rules.
The 5$ rate will apply to setups provided by us, so the key thing is to not take up his equipment, when its final we plan to at least have 5-6 setups, so it would be helpful if some people locally wouldn’t mind bringing some systems, Tom and I have xboxs we can bring, John said he wouldn’t mind leaving a PS3 system there available provided we bring the games, I have 2 PS2 setups i will bring for older games. Everyone pretty much has their own pads and sticks and everyone has been cool about sharing. Everyone I know on here and I met yesterday are very respectable to everyone’s equipment. So for the game choices at gatherings, whatever people want to play can be played, the owner is not against bringing your own setup so if you wanted to bring your own monitor/tv/system to setup shop, we’ll work out a spot for you to setup, there is a lot of space.
5$ for all night play is very nice you can’t ask for anything reasonably better than that, but I would like Elite Zone to benefit from John giving us a nice rate, so little support to them would be appreciative, so little things like Drinks/Snacks: It would be fine if you went to a fast food joint and brought back your food/drink to finish, but they provide drinks/snacks at comparable prices to vending machines and gas stations so please purchase refreshments from them which would be a nice gesture.
Thank you again everyone that showed up, ggs to all I played, once the setup/venue is complete, I will focus on DojoBusting!! :karate: I am the worst with names, please forgive me if I ask your name again in the future. William has provided links in his post for Elite Zone so check it out, maybe next week I will film some vids of the place to give people an idea of the setup we are establishing.
PS: I’m too lazy to look up the post, but someone said something about recording matches or streaming…this is possible, John has two networks, he agreed to let us access his wireless network only for streaming, its 1 mb UP, which I believe is plenty to provide a decent stream.

Thanks for all the info, sounds great. I’d like to say i’ll make it up this friday but my work has me “on call” so i’m really not so sure but planning to definitely take a day off pretty soon and head up there. I looked on the website and it said they had a lot of energy drinks so that’s awesome. When Arcana comes out maybe i’ll bring my PS3 up there or something I don’t really know but it just sounds like a totally amazing place.
