Finally beat Radiant Historia. It was an okay but worth playing game.
reading online i read that kotaro uchikoshi revealed they are working on a sequel to virtues last reward.
also i’ve been trying to get my friend to play the zero escape games because he is a fan of visually novels, but he says it’s too much like “saw”.
you guys know if 3ds games come with automatic or mandatory firmware updates?
I can’t remember the last time I had a mandatory update on my 3DS…I think I had one for Super Mario 3D Land and that’s pretty much about it. Since I take my 3DS everywhere with me on sleep mode it usually automatically downloads the latest firmware when it’s available and it’s never come up again.
Has anyone beaten the Fire Emblem Demo on Lunatic yet? I came pretty close to beating the first map but god damn man…no amount of pairing can save me from that damage.
I have beaten the first map plenty. It is the second one that drives me nuts, I get to the leader and die Nd on top of that i lose most of my people which i count as fail anyway.
For the first map there is no need to partner anyone up.
Move healer to bottom most left square.
Move sword all the way left third space from bottom.
Move tactician all the way left and 2 from the bottom. Right behind sword.
Move knight in to kill closest enemy sword. Not the one all the way to the right.
This will leave axes only able to attack sword and knight.
If you are lucky when he attacks your sword, the tactician will either block or aid you in battle.
Enemy will then move thw rest of their pieces.
Have knight kill sword hopefully at the same time from a space where magician cant kill you.
Attack axe with tactician. If you arw lucky then sword will also attack and finish him
Move sword to the right of tactician and the move healer to the space below sword and heal him. This should keep the other axe from attacking healer.
Enemy should now only be able t attack with axe and maybe magic. If they attack knight with magic pray he survives.
Your next turn you can kill off axe and magic really easy so start healing everyone.
After everyone is healed move just one space away from enemy site.
If everyone is healed then move knight one space into enemy site.
They will start moving down and should create an upside down reverse L with the magician being on the bottom.
Move knight to kill magician
Move sword in front of axe so it blocks enemys movement but do not attack.
Move magician to the left of sword and attack axe. Hopefully sword does not attack because you don’t want him to die wjen he attacks you or the next axe will end you. You can also choose not to attack with magician but I don’t remember my results from doing that.
Next turn axe will attack sword but hopefully sword wont kill him.
Axe will also attack knight.
Your next turn I think you can wipe out rest of the enemys in that group leaving only the leader.
I dot remember the exact units in that group but if you have followed what I said(if you understand the shit lol)
Then you can survive with everyone.
I dont remember the name of the characters so I use sword, tactician, healer and knight. Hopefully they are self explanatory.
The trick on lunatic is to have them initiate on you unless you can one shot them.
Let me know if you use these directions and need me to clarify. I will try to play through it tonight again and see what I did.
^ That actually worked out quite well. I knew i was gonna have to use Frederick to kill the mage but i was having trouble killing units in time before they got in and stomped a mudhole in one of units. Now to get crushed in the second stage.
The Fire Emblem demo so far is the only Demo I’ve played more then a handful of times on my 3DS. I can’t wait for the game to drop on Monday.
Fire Emblem Awakening review @ IGN:
Glad it helped and you understood what I was saying haha. I wrote all that crap from my phone.
At this point i am pretty convinced that the second mission can’t be beat without a sacrifice. I am going to try a couple more tactics before completely giving up.
Same here.
I am not sure if I am going to get it day 1 yet though because I have been wanting to play through 6-8 first.
I don’t want them to feel dated after playing too much of the new one.
If there is anyone I think that could be used as a sacrifice it’d be Sully so far since anybody I moved her over and looked at the battle forecast steamrolled her in 2 hits. Then there’s the asshat in the bottom right with the hammer that you can’t have Frederick nearby at all plus the mage who’s in range of your characters within at least 2 turns.
Nintendo has stated they plan to partner with more japanese developers to get their games over to other countries since the West is lacking in the handheld department
Edit: Rune Factory 4 also got announced for localization by Xseed
Edit 2: Also forgot to mention that Fire Emblem lost it’s Street Date. It very well could show up in a store a day early on Monday and be sold. Also It’ll be available for digitally on Monday as well…that can be an option in case you can’t seem to have a hard time finding a copy of the game.
We’ve had quite a few people coming into my store trying to preorder FE and we have been unable to do so since they turned off the sku. I don’t know how fares other retailers though.
Fire Emblem sounds really hype, but I’ve never been able to get into strategy rpgs. (Never beat Final Fantasy Tactics). Can someone explain the lure of them or why they are better than traditional western or jrpgs? I remember when I turned on FF tactics, the menus seemed complex. There’s just too much information for me to handle.
my friend has had fire emblem for 3 days, street date has been smashed.
finally finished shadow dragon after having to restart it and it’s official i’m in love with fire emblem.
tried to start code of princess and enjoy it ,but all i could think about was fire emblem awakening.
maybe it’s because of this that i didn’t really like code of princess? some of the things i didn’t like about the game were the characters, the voice actors, how the story feels like it’s a fanfiction written by a jr high student, and mediocre combat…
Download the demo off the eshop and if you want a basic run down of the game play on the easiest setting. It’ll take you through a tutorial.
Basically compared to standard RPGs, Strategy RPGs (or the good ones) you have to be aware of your placement of units on the battle map. One wrong placement of a unit that is too weak leads to the computer attacking it with a unit that is stronger or a series of weak units that eventually overwhelm your unit. Some maps are akin to puzzles in how you have to transverse them to avoid losing the battle (nor any important units you are developing or need to make upcoming matches easier) or make it to the goal quick enough.Spacing, weapons, classes, at times even terrain and character relationship values also play roles in how effective your party is in missions.
Like Sonichuman said, download the demo, FE especially this one gives a lot of options to make the game easier such as making death not permanent (unlike normal FE games, when a character dies they aren’t gone forever and come back at the beginning of another mission/map) along with being able to alter the information display to show less info making it easier to understand.
found an infinite in code princess, just play as solange and do the B combo for 3 hits over and over again
One more day to the Emblem! So far I have:
RE Revelations
SM3DL
Kingdom Hearts 3DS
Fire Emblem 3DS
I think Zoolander mentioned Shinobi, might pick that up as well. There’s also that 999 game or whatever it was, so hype.
This was recently shared by Monolith Soft:

As far as I know, it’s unknown what this is. Hopefully it’s a 3DS project. Looks very nice.
Does this look almost like a strange alien Wizard of Oz with the white thing being the dog to anyone else but me?
