I’m laughing at the idiots though on other forums saying they “fixed” Jill’s face, as if there was anything wrong with Jill from the get go. Jill’s character model is IDENTICAL to the GC REmake one but with higher res textures (in RE5). Only difference is her long hair. It’s literally the exact same 3D model. WTF. 
Went ahead and picked one up. The 3d is really cool and I don’t have any problem at all viewing it, thankfully. Old ds games control like a dream with that awesome slide pad. I wish the new psp would use those. The only negative is the awful glossy finish and the ill-fitting parts. It still looks like a prototype.
been playing a lot with the AR cards and some Face Raiders. I think my girlfriend wants one of her own, she was having a lot of fun with Face Raiders. I need to get my 3DS online so I can get my friend code, (and also download that limited offer pokemon lol)

I got a question before I pick up a 3DS: If I get a DS game, like say Pokemon B/W, can I play the MP aspect with people using the game on DS or even other 3DS’? Most of the launch titles don’t seem worth my money, but I’d use Pokemon as an excuse to pick the system up.
Yes, you can also connect to your router if its in WPA using Pokemon Black and White and not have to put your router on an archaic password system that nobody even uses anymore. Doesn’t work for all games, just Black and White so far though.

One major design flaw is how the home buttons row rests against the screen when closed. Y’all need to put something between like the foam sheet that came with it or use a screen protector, otherwise it’s likely gonna scratch the screen from moving around. This thing is some nice tech, but really is poorly designed. How they went from the dsi to this is bizarre.
Good catch, I never noticed that until you mentioned it. Just got mine today from Amazon, the AR cards and face raiders games are such a time suck, lol. Picked up SSFIV from Amazon with the $25 off.
As a long fan of Nintendo’s handhelds, I’m going to wait til May or June (birthday in june) to pick this one up. There are no real killer apps out yet (not saying the games are bad, just saying there’s nothing out yet saying “GO BUY ME”). The battery life is a big issue for me, and also the lack of downloadable content (which launches in May). There will be an inevitable model 2 3DS (more compact and fix a few issues), but it won’t show until early 2013. Let’s just hope that Nintendo does virtual console for this system better than they did for the Wii.
Yeah, the launch games are pretty ass. I only bought one just so I wouldn’t have to hunt for it when the good stuff comes out.
Kind of bulky, but this battery doubles the stock one Nyko - Products - Power Pak+
^ArsTechnica praised the fuck out of that battery pack. The reviewer got like 5 1/2 hours with everything maxed out (that includes wi-fi being on).
I got to try out Pilot Wings at Target today and I only have a few things to say.
- The 3DS feels like a quality product
- Ney to turning the 3D to max and ney to turning the 3D down to 0. The happy middle is where it’s at.
- I hate that if you aren’t lined up the screen will be ass.
- It’s honestly just an improved DS with 3D.
Now #4 doesn’t mean I’ll never get a 3DS it’s just that it’s really not as revolutionary as the launch of the original DS.
Well, the wii and ds were “revolutionary” and to an extent the 3DS is too. I mean, look ma, no glasses!!!

I checked out a review and Joystiq did some tests and they highly recommend it. from the pics it doesn’t even seem to make it that much thicker and the price is really good IMO. Thanks for the tip. Gotta check it out

Whipped out my DS and started playing Megaman Zero Collection. Good times.
Fucked with the 3DS at Wondercon yesterday. 3D affect works good, played Lego Star Wars & SSFIV and both looked good.
System still doesn’t have that “it” game, although that Tom Clancy:Shadow Wars looks pretty interesting from what I read.
I’m still on the fence about buying one right now.
i think the product is going to blossom, and I really like nintendo’s strategy. from the features that it has, it is going to be solid. netflix streaming 3D movies is a selling point right there. the ability to add friends and see what their up to/playing is also neat. there is no need for nintendo to worry about inital sales, because i am sure that once all the perks are up and running and christmas time comes around, this is going to be THE hottest gaming device out there.
I have had every Nintendo handheld… just gotta wait on those games…
