Finally getting around to playing Pokemon Shuffle. Surprisingly fun, just disappointed there are so many timed events that have already passed. Makes it almost not worth playing since I’ve already missed out on so many awesome Pokemon.
Don’t download the Nintendo badge arcade. It’s addicting as fuck and a money pit. I’ve already spent $20 on it and I’ve only had it since yesterday. It’s the only freemium game I’ve ever gave money too.
EDIT: God damn, 3DS is suddenly *loaded * with RPGs down the pipeline. Totally copping that Fire Emblem collector’s edition. Super happy that DQ7 3DS is on the way!
Project X Zone 2, Mario&Luigi: Paper Jam, FF Explorers, DQ 7&8, FE: Fates, Super Mystery Dungeon…Fuuuuck the JRPG lineup. I need to peep more gameplay from Super Mystery Dungeon to see how it looks, I still got Mystery Dungeon read and didn’t like it. Combat and exploring wasn’t too fun for me
Have you played the previous ones and if so, did you e joy them?
I personally love Rogue-Like RPGs and loved the shit out of the first few MD’s (they made me miss Chocobo dungeon like no ones business) but IMO they’ve gotten less and less fun as time goes on. The galaxy Map just looks fucking annoying and is nauseating just to comprehend.
So they get less fun as time goes on?
How does the game go? I got into a random dungeon and fight my way through while catching pokemon along the way to grow my team? What is the combat like? Are there random exploration dungeons or just story dungeons?
For you first one is should be fine. The dungeons are story line but always randomized maps, just like Chocobo dungeon. Combat is like tradition Pokemon just in a rogue- like setting you choose from 4 attacks and you will use that attack until you choose a different one or PP runs out. You can also switch between Pokemon and do team-up attacks.
And you sorta catch Pokemon? You will randomly befriend them or earn them through story line missions. You can recruit all 720 Pokemon in this one though.
The main things I don’t like about the new ones is that you get to pick what Pokemon you are. In the original MD’s you were a kid that got transformed into a Pokemon and sent to their world. They would determine what Pokemon you were by having you take a short personality test. Which I thought was really unique.
I recommend watching the lengthy trailer from yesterday’s direct and see if it looks like something you’d enjoy.
Trust me I know. Nidoking is the #1 Pokemon in my heart. Ever since buying a starter deck of the tcg and he was the first Pokemon I fully evolved in my Pokemon Red. He’s my all time favorite. In a distant/not so distant 2nd is Shuckle and then Hawlucha. I want tattoos of all three.
