Nintendo 3DS - Best Handheld Today

I was thinking of picking up that FE 3DS bundle… Supposedly the game comes pre-installed, meaning no cartridge or box?
I’m not the biggest Animal Crossing fan but I got a taste of it on the Wii. It can actually be a fun and addicting game but the thing is the fact that it demands your attention every day. The appeal is having a sort of second life to live where a world goes on with or without you. Say Christmas Eve rolls around and you have a chance to get a super rare gift from someone dressed at Santa Clause between the hours of 3-4 o’clock. If you aren’t there during that period than you potentially lose out on participating in that event. Smaller and bigger events take place like that all the time. The earlier games involved you starting out in debt under Tom Nook and you working for money to get rid of that debt while doing ‘chores’ and talking with other people. Then you can customize your house, fashion, and actually do some landscaping about. It’s just a relatively easy going game that doesn’t really have an end goal and has plenty of stuff to do in it all year long. Hanging in other people’s town’s and trading/buying fruit in another person’s town is also pretty fun. I’m sure there’s plenty of things I’m missing about having to deal with that game but if you prefer your game to have an end then it probably just isn’t for you. The only way you’re going to find out really if it is for you is if you actually give it a shot…and you’d have to actually play it for more than 1 day to actually ‘get’ Animal Crossing.

Use Styles and install Kyle’s skin, he’s got SRK dark and old school blue up.

really freaking weird…I’ll have to keep trying…maybe I gotta delete something to make room and it’s not telling me?
Someone wanna give me a push towards buying Mighty Switch Force? Good game?
There was another indy game I was looking at, $10, can’t remember what it was called. I need to get some VC games for my Wii U.

I have never been into world of warcraft type games but I downloaded the monster hunter demo and it is actuatlly much more fun than the wii version I remember playing. I actually might pick this one up. The game still feels sluggish to me but playing as the dual swords chick is not bad because she is the fastest.

Has anybody beaten the hard mode monster yet. I keep getting close but then it retreats to the water and fighting underwater is a bitch so I run out of time.

I’m a Monster Hunter scrub but the controls weren’t bad like I though they were going to be on the 3DS. Sword and shield along with duel swords are the most fun for me so far. I don’t even get close to beating the water monster.
Tried Monster Hunter for the second time (I played a MH demo before, but it was so long ago that I forget when it was, so this might as well count as a first time). Is there no lock-on? And not being able to adjust the camera to the front sucks because it’s easy to get hit by an offscreen attack.

I went with the greatsword, but it’s a lot more unwieldy than I thought it would be. Even with that power I couldn’t kill the easy mode monster. Kept retreating to different areas.

I think the closest we get to lock on is tapping the monster symbol then hitting L to center the camera on the monster and double tapping L to center it behind your character.
Your post reminded me that there’s a manual for the demo. Looks like there’s targeting after all. Gonna try this again.

Your post reminded me of manuals. I feel dumb spending all that time tryin to figure out how to load the special arrows among other things

I got the Monster Hunter 3 demo but I am still too engrossed with Fire Emblem to give it a fair shake, besides, if I get MH3U it will be for the Wii U because I don’t have Circle Pad Pro.
Might Switch Force 2 is coming
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=48195372

FE: A wants me to play far more defensively than the other previous games and I’m trying to get used to it. I’m playing hard mode and I already lost 2 units and I’m only on chapter 3. I also was unlucky enough to get have Frederick get OHKO’d Crit hit by the boss on stage 1…TWICE…
Guess I overused Panne, I’m on level 9 and she only has 5 attacks left. Where can I pick up weapons for her? She and Lon’Qu are tearing shit up together.

There aren’t really classes and jobs so much in MH. The weapons that you have will determine whether you’re going to be at the for front of taking Monsters down or in the back of course…The only weapon I can think of that can act like a white mage/healer class is the bow gun because you can actually shoot healing shots with it. You can change your characters appearance…the demo just doesn’t have that in it. You pick weapons according to both your own style and the monster you’re going up against. MH feels slow and it’s deliberate with most weapons. Not all the weapons are slow though…Sword and shield is a good start and the Lance has a shield on it and probably has the best defense out of all the weapons. I’ve watched Rioting Soul get right up into several monster’s grills’ in the heat of battle with a lance that I wouldn’t fucking dare do with a long sword for fear of eating a 65% counter hit to my life bar. The game is about patience and learning each monster’s habits and quirks, this even boils down to taking the time to sharpen your blade or finding a moment to heal yourself with a potion. If you just run in hacking and slashing and hoping for the best then you’re going to end up on a gurney taking the trip of shame back to the base. Aimed at children? I never got that at all about Monster Hunter, what makes you say this?

Also the controls have been pretty much the same on portables since it’s debut on PSP. The only difference is you can now have better access to camera controls through the touch screen or the the 2nd analog nub. I’m mostly going to be playing MH3U on Wii U but plan to pick up the 3DS version to do some hunting on the go.

I almost forgot to touch on another one of your points. Not every mission that you take on in Monster Hunter will involve hunting a monster…but pretty much everything you do will lead to taking down one. You may be tasked to go out and collect some materials that you could need for potions, nets, shock traps, etc.

This vid actually gives a pretty nice look into how most of the weapons move save for the new ones they put in 3U
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SJDqiujJeE

I was mostly a Switch Axe and longsword guy when I played Tri but I’m thinking about giving the Bow a shot.
