Ninjas have high standards! The Tsumuji Loop Thread

Loop 2 or: TC4 xx lk.tsumuji , st.LP , st.MK xx Special
is fairly universal.

On characters it doesn’t work on, you can do TC4 , st.LP , st.MK xx Special.

That’s about as simple as it gets if you don’t want to memorize different loops for different characters.

im guessing none of the loops can be started off of a cr.LP?

cr.LP can be used in place of cr.LK. I believe the spacing is exactly the same, once you cancel into lk.tsumuji. In the chart they are loop 9 and 10.

I dunno about cr.LP , cr.LP , st.MK type combo starters, but considering the spacing, it probably won’t work on many characters. I’ll test it… someday lol.

Loop 9 works on Claw

Interesting. I’ll have to re-test this.

After some experimentation, it seems cl.st.MP , cl.st.MK is the same range as cl.st.MK or cr.LK, for tsumuji starter. Going by this, we can make loop 7 more damaging by including the cl.st.MP. I only tested it on standing opponents, but I figure it should have the same properties as loop 8 for crouching opponents. I also have only tested on a couple characters, but so far they all seem to follow loops 7/10.

cl.st.MP , st.MK xx lk.Tsumuji , st.LP , st.MK xx Neckbreaker

According to my Ibuki Calculator, it gives 349 dmg, 508 stun, 188 meter gain.

Pros:

  1. Works on every character that is Tsumuji loopable.
  2. Gives the max possible stun, outside of using cr.HP as a starting tsumuji loop. Very useful if you play Ibuki’s stun game.
  3. Easier option select opportunity, since st.MP is not special cancellable. This setup basically obsoletes the cr.MP xx Tsumuji option select neckbreaker setup vs Bipson.
  4. Never have to worry about cl.st.LP whiffing on certain crouching characters at very specific ranges.

Cons:

  1. You have to worry about crouching opponents, compared to TC4 which forces stand.
  2. st.MP , st.MK is a 1 frame link.
  3. st.MP has 5 frame startup, compared to cl.st.LP which has 3 frame startup. This makes it more difficult to land.

I can’t read anything in the vid, the blur is crazy

Are you sure about this? wont you be pushed back more?

Wtf is this?

I noticed that it was missing from the tsumuji loop,so here it goes:

tc4(full)>st lp>st mk> lk tsumuji>st lp>st mk>special
works on:
dudley, dhalsim, abel, bipson, sagat, dee jay, guy, guile, rufus, balrog. On zangief the last st mk whiffed, but tc4(1 hit stmp)>above combo works on him.

Hmm, this made me wonder if we can substitute st.MK for cr.MP. The hitbox and/or range may be different enough to allow cr.MP to connect while st.MK whiffs.

Edit: added your loop to the chart. Sadly my Ibuki Calculator doesn’t handle target combos yet so I can’t get the dmg/stun/meter values.

I double checked just to make sure and i can say with certainty that the tc4(full)combo loop that i mentioned above whiffs on dhalsim and guile,so exclude them from the loop…
The damage is 341 and the stun is 398 without the specials

I can’t think of a scenario where standing MK constantly whiffs to justify using CR. MP instead. I mean, I’ve seen it whiff, and it definitely is possible, but I don’t know if it’d be worth it.

So I’ve been working on loops finally (finally taking this bitch into training mode) anddddd, somethings bugging me. Do you recover faster or something while crouching? I’m getting the jab after lk spin kick pretty consistently now, but for some reason when I have the training dummy on crouch, it seems impossible. I actually don’t think I’ve gotten one yet and I’ve been trying for a couple of minutes. This is all without forcing stand (lp,mp,hp tc), as if I force stand it’s just like any other time I loop.

I’ll test it out some more when I get back from the bank as I’m trying to get this down. Even found some dumb loops to try if you’re bored like 2x ST.MP into ST. MK -> LK Loop -> Jab -> ST. MK -> Special on Sagat. 376/455 for TC into Loop/Neckbreaker. 373/537 for two MPs -> MK -> Loop/Neckbreaker. I haven’t really tested this out on other characters yet cause I was just hitting random select and trying to memorize what loops worked on who, but I’ll test it out later.

How much damage/stun when you end with neckbreaker?

Try loop 8: cl.st.MK xx lk.tsumuji , st.LP , st.MK xx Special (opponent crouching). It takes into account crouching opponents, and the list of characters that can be looped this way vastly differ from the list of characters can be looped by loop 7.

Btw, do you guys think I should just delete loop 9 and 10? The spacing is obviously the same as loop 6 and 7 respectively, so I don’t think there’s a need to repeat the results. With the strange exception of Claw but I’ll have to test that another time.

It does 369 damage and 448 stun ending it with hp neckbreaker.

Edit:Whoops,You’ve already found it.

Ahh, just got back. I’ll give this a try. I was mainly doing this after her overhead so I don’t think MK would connect.

I just got what you’re saying. Guess it only lands on certain people crouching, pretty lame.

I’ve been working on this more and more and can seem to get the lp to land consistently offline but online is a problem. has anyone else been double-tapping this? and, if so, would you recommend I learn to double-tap for this?

Double tapping, blinking.etc…Never understood those stuff.I don’t think that it’s difficult to loop someone offline.Online it’s another thing. It’s not that hard(no need for double tapping blinking imo),but its’ not worth trying it if you don’t have a yellow or green connection(which can drop during the match,or even worse, it won’t represent the real amount of lag you’re going to have). You can always go for tc4>stlp>stmk combo if you want to deal more damage online.

Who cares about online.

I’ve been double tapping this. I’d recommend picking Sagat and practicing double tapping his fake kick (hk xx hk). Change the jab button to be hk to practice it that way.

Thanks for the info. I’m not worried about online as far as winning I just want to see if it is possible to do it more consistently. I will try that out. thanks.

Is it working in everyone now? I have seen Sako using it against Bison, Yun and etc.
I dont know Ibuki at all.
