Ninjas have high standards! The Tsumuji Loop Thread

sry my bad and thx for the hint .

Xbox 360 TE sticks all work on PC. I don’t think the PS3s do though

i have the ps3 madcatz te s i plugged and it worked  yay

So does anyone think it is possible to be able to have the loops dialed in 100% in any situation without plinking? I can understand how sako has it down in the arcades because the timing never has to change but I can’t help but be saddened at how hard the combo is combined with the inconsistency of american tournament setups. I even have a blinking stick but something in me wants to learn it without cheating.

Guilty Gear had a lot of 1f link stuff, so probably.

If you have a really god monitor you can just easily react and hit the jab as soon as the tsumuji ends, which is what I do. If you don’t, you’ll have to learn to time it, more specifically WHERE in the recovery, do you time it. There’s no easy way around it, unless you blink it, its a hard combo for a reason. With enough practice though, you can even do it blindfolded. That combo requires your dedication to land consistently.

Yeah since everyone uses asus monitors I think it might be possible to be consistent in tournament but the difference between xbox/ps3/arcade is a little discouraging

something interesting of note, or maybe not, but in the charts, akuma is generally not loopable except with the mp > mk loop. however in a match today i was able to loop akuma with lp > mp(1hit) > lk tsumuji > lp > s.mk > neckbreaker.

just throwing that out there.

Huh? You can loop Akuma just like any other shoto. You can c.lp, s.lp, s.mk, loop him. You can c.lk, c.lk, s.lp, s.mk, loop. You can s.mp, s.lp, s.mk, loop him, s.lk, s.mk, loop him, and so on…

The only one you cant really get is the target combo 4 one. Also, the “mp(1hit)” thing. Are you talking about AgeMan? If so, how the hell did you manage to get a lk tsumuji out afterwords? lol

pardon my ignorance on all the loops available for akuma. still training. but i am talking about doing half of TC4. you can cancel the first hit of the MP of TC4 into lk tsumugi > loop. i do this sometimes with dash to mix up timings.

That will do less damage.

Fun fact, that’s actually the only way to loop T.Hawk.

that is good to thawk knowledge.

i mainly use the half TC4 loop as a mixup because my brain hasnt yet graduated to mp > mk > loop > lols.

im still workin on that -_-

Well since it does less damage, you should never try it.

BTW TC4 (2-hit) Loop does work on Akuma, but it doesn’t after a Vortex. I would suggest you just don’t bother with Tsumuji Loops atm.

im not going to stop looping lol! dont get me wrong i have no problems pulling off loops, i just dont have all the loops that work on all the cast memorized.

double loop stun ftw.

i know there are better options when it comes to loops on some of the cast, more damage, more stun, all im saying is having another loop option only adds to your mixup potential to keep your opponent guessing on combo timings.

but still, im not godlike like you guys yet, but ill get there :stuck_out_tongue:

If you can master mp mk loop, you won’t need to memorize much, and it works after vortex, but loops arent necessary because the most important thing is getting UKD. From what I see so far from your videos, working on fundamentals and patience will benefit you further. Loops should come later.

ill take this to heart. especially the patience.

i think my post got a little off topic though. it was more of a “this is interesting that it works” vs a “help me get better” post.

Not being rude at all (I haven’t seen you playing for a long time ezkial ^^ ), but don’t make the same mistake as I did: trying to go too deep in terms of pure technical stuff (loops, SJCs, vortex…) and learn more fundamentals (whiff punish, zoning, tick throws, tech throws…).
I did it as well and it was an absolute pain to remove all of those stupid automatisms to learn a new, cleaner way to play. I’d say that I’m currently halfway through lol, as I’m still too much of a crouch-tech masher for example.
The only problem being that to level up in this kind of meta game, you’d need to play offline a lot. Right now I’m starting to understand people complaining about online when I can’t punish a focus-dash on my kunais with sweep, or punish Akuma’s TP on reaction lol.
To be honest I haven’t been practicing my vortex for MONTHS, except a very few character specific stuff against annoying matchups. And I feel like I leveled up soooooo much more just playing with fundamentals that right now I’m still just trying to play in an entire reaction-based playstyle =)

Anyway, that was off-topic =)

It’s probably impossible to memorize all the loops, nevermind the whole Ibuki charts. Just buy a smartphone and do the Infiltration.

yerp. im google dockin on the vs screen.

Actually, you can loop T.Hawk from a counter-hit s.mk.
