I have a loop for T. Hawk that I haven’t seen covered on the charts/in the forums:
St. MP, F. LK xx LK Tsumuji, St. LP, St. MK xx Special -300 damage, 433 Stun with NB.
I was hoping to get it to work on most of the unconventionally vorteax-able characters, but it doesn’t work on Cammy, Rose, Dan, Juri, El Fuerte or (wait for it…) Blanka. I only tested it on the characters where a minority of the loops work, but it should work on everyone else too.
This is as close to it gets for a universal loop that does 300+ damage and 400+ stun I think (32/38?). I humbly request that it be added to the charts, perhaps with some more testing on everyone’s part to see if it really does work on everyone. I’m surprised no one has tried it already. It’s a significant upgrade from loops 12 and 13 IMO. Or maybe someone has tried it and found reasons why it’s ineffective/impractical?
I finished testing everyone. It works the same with the st.mp st.mk loop character wise but with addition of T. Hawk of course. Double loop still works against Abel and Sagat. For Dee-Jay, last jab will connect, but st.mk will whiff. For Vega, last jab will whiff. Stats for the double loop is 345 damage/478 stun(I used neckbreaker as special).
I didn’t test if it works after vortex. Maybe I’ll do it later or someone can.
I tested after a typical vortex: Double Dash up, NB, SJ Kunai (land on opposite side), Single loop. That was my recording. It doesn’t work on Ibuki, Akuma, Sakura, Oni, Cody (strange…) or Gief (really strange). The jab after Tsumuji won’t combo, but it will hit them (crappy frame trap opportunity?). Depending on your frame advantage after Kunai, perhaps you could walk forward and get it to work? I don’t know how to calculate that.
Also, with my recording my Kunai was hitting Ryu’s front leg below the knee before you landed on the other side (so it would be his back leg when you land and start the combo). I couldn’t get it to work consistently without hitting that specific area for him. So maybe it’s only practical as a loop against T. Hawk, or maybe I’m jut inconsistent. I do encourage others to try it out though
You can also do a crappy version without the initial st. MP vs T. Hawk (and I’d guess vs everyone) but the damage and stun are so garbage you’d be better off with TC4 anyway. I only use that in footsies if I’ve got someone like DJ trapped in the corner, where I’m not worried about whiffing.
For Deejay, could you do sweep instead of the st.mk for that last loop? I know in this case it might be better to go for Neckbreaker instead of another loop but Im just wondering.
Not sure, but this double loop isnt recommended because the damage is just 5 more than single loop from st.mp st.mk. Sweep ender will probably do even less damage than that.
I don’t think even the single loop should see use outside of the Hawk matchup honestly. If it works the same as st. MP, st. MK then just do st. MP, st. MK. It’s not as if that link is hard, and it’s better on the whole.
Apparently, you can also loop T.Hawk from a max range s.mk from a neutral position…
Also speaking of loops on T.Hawk… You can also loop T.Hawk from c.LKs. You can do up to THREE c.LKs and still loop him if you can’t hit confirm from TWO c.LKs. If you are bad with c.LKs. You can c.LK, c.LP, towards LK, to loop as well.
You can also loop T.hawk from target combo 4, from first hit of the mp part of it.
BUT, the best yet, is that you can also loop T.Hawk from a close s.Fierce. It does 301 damage and 465 stun. Much easier to do than the towards LK loop (sort of) and still works off from the vortex. The reason why I say its kind of easier, is because I’m VERY used to doing s.mp, s.mk. And s.mp into towards LK is pretty much the same timing, I tend to auto pilot that.
So for a little extra damage and stun, I’m going to start using close s.Fierce for T.Hawk.
It’s hard to recommend these loops on THawk since we can already do the easy st.MP , st.MP , st.MK xx Neckbreaker for 280dmg/420stun (after kunai is 277dmg/430stun), or the TC4 , st.LP , st.MK xx Neckbreaker for 290dmg/393stun (after kunai is 276dmg/392stun).
In comparison, kunai into cl.st.HP xx loop is 290dmg/468stun, and kunai into st.MP f+LK loop is 292dmg/437stun. Not really a huge difference for a 1f link jab.
Damn, you guys beat me to it because I just discovered cl.st.hp loop =[. But you can do 2f loop from MK tsumuji into jabs with T.Hawk. 271/dmg/485stun. Pretty good stun for 2f link.
BTW Mingo, Loop 14 works on Viper? I couldn’t get it. Fuerte is a weird case because sometimes the tsumuji would push him too far for the jab to connect. Maybe it’s because he’s the only character that does the dance thing in his idle/neutral stance, so the spacing can get altered. It still works, but had more success with st.mp st.mk.
Can someone please thoroughly test this loop? As much as I’m for adding information to the Ibuki charts, I also do not want to input false information.
Can you explain thorough? When I tested the loop, I did it 3 times for each character, and concluded that it works the same as st.mp st.mk loop plus T. Hawk.
Should cr.lp st.mk loop be added to the chart? Sako does it a lot and might be useful since the ones on chart are for punishes and to continue vortex while he used it as hit confirm.
