ninja school

Actually, justin wong has some videos on youtube where he is using strider sentinel doom as follows:

Not sure yet but i was thinking about visiting ffa this friday!

@ sb3, there was another 5v5 between east and west coast.

Justin was on the team obviously but when it was justins turn to play, east coast had already sealed the 5v5 and justin ran ssd when it was his turn.

He did pretty well with it iirc.

fugee has the rights to this so I doubt you’ll see it up until fugee puts it up.

even justin wall grabs and Ragnaroks

Whats the best way to to prevent a wall grab after blocking?

I try to stay as clean as possible when I do anything with strider. Pretty sure the only way to get a wall climb on accident when doing the teleport is to roll all the way up to bck.

teleport - bck, dwn, dwnbck+ p or k
wall climb - dwn, dwnbck, bck + p

If you hold that dwnbck on your teleport input, you should never get a wall climb on accident.

either from neutral with extremely quick hands (the safe way) OR hold back when they are attacking and from there quickly do a backwards fire ball motion quickly with either punch depending on what type of teleport you want.

OF COURSE THERE IS NO OTHER TRUE WAY TO AVOID GRABBING THE WALL BESIDES PRACTICING!

If I grab the wall using LP, I just slide back down

Pretty n00by questions, I just need to know.

 1. Are there anyways to cancel into his robot super?

 2. What are the best moves to combo with in the robot super. Because sometimes when I do it they can black out of it because I am doing the wrong move.

Uh…by robot super do you mean Legion?(I.E the one where all the robot wolves/birds come on the side strider is on)

In all reality don’t even use it man.

Only time I ever use it is to DHC outta there with Doom/Sent.

Doom- Photon array
Sent- HSF

Oh no whoops I meant the good one, the one when he has the robots spinning around him. The good one, sorry for the confusion.

That’s pretty much where his main game comes from man.

He’s gunna need meter hence why you put sent on point. Honestly just watch a few Strider videos and X-copy till you get it down.

If you have any questions feel free to hit me up on AIM.

Alright cool thanks, I will be checking out Clockw0rk vids!

yo kai, can I get you vs mixup soon?

to my knowledge, only person to beat mike in a long set with s\d is clock circa 2k3 ish?

What’s the best way to kill Magneto’s dash in after a trade hit in the air and both Strider and Magneto land about the same time?

Usually I do qcf lk, and that gets the job done but that 25% of the time, he’ll dash in and knock me out in the motion of calling a tiger or time it so he can get the tiger as well.

I am thinking of calling out Tron assist and doing a tiger-knee’d qcf LK against Mag’s dash in c. LK

Depends on what assists magneto has. If he has an invincible helper, all he has to do is dash fwd till he’s next to you and call invincible helper. You’re fucked @ that point and all you can do is block. However, if its something like MSS or MS with no AA I might try to hit s.lp, s.mp. This stops c.lk, and overhead attacks if you hit magnus as hes going up. Dual option to stop his rerush hi\lo.

The best answer IMO, is to just reposition. Its the safest by far in this scenario. If you decide to swing, there’s nothing stopping magneto from getting a CH. You have to watch him carefully and choose accordingly. Thats a tough spot to be in.

Agreed with the re-position but you know how Magneto players are, once they start that rush… it’s tough to get them off of you if they know your block style.

I was even thinking of j. forward lp since there’s no delay on j. UP or j. FORWARD

Really the scenario is mostly Mag/Psy. Thanks for putting that counter scenario for me shoultz.

me vs soo on youtube is a good example of what you’re asking. Soo was all over me. I tried to call doom, he called storm full screen. I tried to do a bomb + drones then block, soo calls psylock and takes out the bomb and drones. I roll away and try get more things started with jump+dooms and soo stops me again. Pretty much lost 90% of my life in the situation you’re talking about. You just gotta somehow keep moving w\o taking life or being guard broken because you’re jumping A LOT.

watch @ 35 seconds

That was a good watch. I’ve taken to using Strider a lot more as of late after playing online and have to admit it takes some serious foresight to keep your health bar from just going from full to nill in a flash. When fighting the ninja, people will block you for a little while ONLY when they learn where the forced blocks are…otherwise, expect:

-good button mashing (meaning good players will spam their best situational normal/special/snapback etc vs a random who will just press any and everything)

-invincible anti-airs or quick/high priority assists (even to just eat some hits so that their point can move into optimal position to get at you or get out and DHC)

-tag out…this still makes me LOL, but not so much when you see your body flailing to the ground as a result of it and into a free DHC kill or nasty combo

I haven’t encountered the VC uses so much as most of the teams are comprised of Sent/Mag/Storm/Psy, but it seems a bit tricky trying to avoid them. I especially liked the read about using Strider’s slide to avoid most all of these though.

Good resource here. Much appreciated Shoultz, although tbh, some of this stuff is over my head. Still, I try to hold my own with what I can grasp.

In most situations, if you play smart with a well balanced team that can cover multiple aspects/fields of the arena, you can do pretty well. On the other hand, playing smart is taken to a WHOLE different level when you come across the especially good Mags/Storms/Sents who know movement patterns very well and have very good offensive strats. I’ve never been so wary of a HK throw from Magneto before in my life. :stuck_out_tongue:

Played SamB last night and he was just too fast in all the right places…

The ninja does not get free wins when the comp gets thick…but when he is on, he is on.

tam, to give you some credit, I did manage to squeeze by soo that first game luckily. I gave him space during a trap pattern and hoped he mashed his psylock and he did. However, against magneto x who I used to play every few months for about a year, he would stay all over my guts. He knew my style pretty well after a while. FRxi and sb3 footage of me vs creecy isn’t pretty. So I know how you feel about magneto being in your guts constantly after 1 mistake.

I’ve actually gone like 11-13 with creecy once and that was my 2nd tournament in new orleans but every time in tournament play, he usually gets the better of me when I play s\d.

Question, I use clockw0rk and how the hell do you beat good BH’s and Cables? Because I was playing a jumping demon BH and I could not do anything to stop him. Same goes with Cable.

Whenever I fight a good BH I always just rush that shit down and get in as much as I can…

-IF possible snap in BH’s main assist(Usually it’s Cable,Cyke,Capcom)
-teleport under him if he’s just super jumping around so you can catch him on arrival

 • Spam orbs when you’ve got’em
 • Watch out on how you call your assists, BH does hella damage to assists and if you got strider on point a normal BH combo will most likely leave you near death.

hope that helps
