there are several factors that go into account when I do that @ least. First of all, the basic magic series, RP sends the opponent pretty far towards the corner and a KD mixup. Its not a big advantage but still very usable. The fast fly stuff does get used but you lose the screen advantage.

Its a toss up really on what you want. Do you want screen advantage and KD or some life?

The best you could hope for is if doom rocks hit, sj.lk, f.lp, LP RP, f.lk, DP RP for a FF combo that has no unfly. The magic series only does like 20 pts less with better positioning afterwards. After the magic series, RP, FS, the opponent is in the KD state allowing for a mixup to take place which is potential life or potential baiting of the helper. Sentinel can bait right there vs invincible helper, HSF, dhc orbs and get some nasty life on the assist.

The RP FS is even more effective vs assists that aren’t invincible. Like sent\doom vs sent\cap where sent\doom gets a RP FS. Sent\doom basically gets in for free right after for a mixup because mando won’t come out to save hiim from it. @ that point, sentinel gets about 15% chip if they managed to block everything. Works really well against combofiend as well.

but it’s all about that stomp into orbs when you’re vs cable lol
also ironman/strider/doom is too mean but it’s so hard to switch out unless you can get a hit with ironman

I’m glad that vid inspired you! I give much props to all S/D players b/c I think S/D takes more overall effort to win compared to the other top-tier teams (ie. MSP, Santhrax, etc). Your execution has to be on point and you can’t mess up or Strider is dead (goddamn wall climb :bluu:). But when Strider has meters and the trap is executed perfectly, it is something quite glorious to see.:pray:

some of us will play strider\doom till we die I suppose. First thing I usually do when I got to a national is hit up amir and josh and see whats good. They usually have some very interesting stuff up their sleeves.

When you talk of solely ironman/doom or strider/doom these guys do fairly well with doom assist. It’s just when you’re ass is rushed down and you need a quick way out, you won’t find it with ironman -> strider, vice versa.

WM you can super right off the ground and bounce out to Strider, just makes things easier for being safe.

went back and saw all the mekyusui videos the other day and I saw chun li do the same glitch as spiderman. Where you wall jump+AD @ the exact same time and you get weird shit to happen. It seems that marvel combines momentums with a wall jump + AD. All though strider doesn’t have an AD, he does have specials that create momentum. Its possible that strider has a wall jump glitch similar to that of spiderman and chun li.

Now if he does, the practicality of it becomes the factor. The spiderman one isn’t that hard with some practice. If strider does have it, it means he can teleport upbck, DJ, get the wall and use the glitch if one is there. It could create some new angles for strider.

had some comp in the city over the weekend and I ran ninja for a bit. I feel like strider doesn’t have enough movement options. For instance magneto can SJ, AD directions. He stays moving. Strider on the other hand has to PROPERLY move within restricted movement options. He can’t fake his positioning as well as mag\storm can. To make up for that, I’ve been implementing SJ, DJ cancels into my game to allow me to take different angles of attack. I can get to midscreen w\o risking a NJ or DJ.

anytime you can do doom, teleport high opposite side of the opponent and doom hits the assist, lk bomb, cancel orbs hits a lot. A pretty good assist punishing tool if you want to stay agressive. It works on psylock\cyke but hit box placement is kinda the factor there. This works great against mando though. FLYING screen happens, call doom, teleport high opposite side. If they mash mando, doom will pop him up and you’ll get a free bomb+orb life.

its possible to TK striders satelite. By tking it, you get to swing on the way down for multi mixups. If there was only a way to cut down on the recovery time, it might be pretty useful.

Every time I got a free pattern, I always made sure to bomb cancel orbs. If your setup is free, it can lead to big life. Generally, the opponent will do things to negate it but they will probably have to push block you. If they call their helper to snuff it out, you can run in during orbs and get some good life. It makes the opponent less mash happy with helpers allowing you to get in close with strider.

strider needs a solo infinite that takes no bar anyone got any ideas? :wasted:

storm/strider/doom is a great team to start with… since you have the hailstorm to fall back on if you mess something up.
blackheart/strider/doom if you wanna get old school tactics that still work in play… mag/strider/doom has a lot going for it and is VERY fun to play.

… regarding doom on point with sent… fcuk sent… doom has some nice tricks in fly mode with strider that leave the opponent open to a full otg air combo you will get 9/10 times because most people never see strider assist coming during doom flight mode… it is just about positioning yourself a little behind(while still in flight mode) where the assist hit from strider will knock down to give yourself time to unfly and lk launch or dash xx lk launch … one of the best parts about strider’s variety assist is that when you are flying around the head of your opponent with doom and call a strider assist that hits… most of the time people dont know which way to roll correctly so you get an easy otg if you are quick enough.

Yea i agree my sent is like Average at the most. i find myself using magneto instead of strider. ROM Infinite= Levels for strider. But yea i ve got 2 get my sent up 2 par.

Every time I watch Finesse play Sentinel in person, my Sentinel game levels up 10fold

You may be right but seeing it in action match after match immediately does the job for me. I can’t dl fast on this connection speed but I’m going to be watching more Sentinel videos
