I said I’m cocky, which is true. But It’s similar to Chuck Liddel, even if I get knocked out I still think I’m one of the best out there (not in tournaments obviously). And I prove it through my play.
Third strike is the only fighting game I genuinely like. If I can find someone to lose to, I’m happy. That means that person is a beast, if they can consistently best me (No to you urien players) without using outside factors like lag. So I’ll take my losses, and make no excuses. It’s nothing better than having a fight come down to the last hit.
I had to leave 2df, because the players there was boring me with their non sense, though a lot are nice people. I just want better play, to me thats fun. And with better play comes an understanding that some people haven’t learned yet. That if you lose it’s your fault, no matter what character you have chosen, high or low tier.
It’s not the vehicle, it’s the driver.
If you lose it’s because you didn’t block correctly, your offense wasn’t good enough, not enough variety in your game. That goes for any character. Any outside influences, like the “phone”, someone throwing rocks at your head, or lag. Is totally different from a character thats in the game and there to be played. Good players, or players with an understanding don’t make that excuse.
Jordon being sick and still playing with the flu is an outside influence. Not being able to pay attention cause of the phone is an outside influence. Picking low tiers based on a persons opinion of tiers, is not an outside infleunce.
Thing is, you CHOOSE to play while talking on the phone. You don’t choose lag or being sick or any of that. Syntax already commented a while back on how you could simply say “brb phone” or something, but you CHOOSE not to and play anyway.
And Syntax isn’t saying picking a shitty character is a valid excuse. He’s using your own logic, that choosing a bad character is a bad excuse, and comparing it to choosing to be distracted. Choosing to be distracted is the same thing, and therefore is also a bad excuse. You can’t pick Twelve and say “oh I only lost cuz I’m playin Twelve lol” in the same way you can’t say “oh I only lost cuz I’m only playin wit one hand lol.”
If you choose to talk on the phone it’s no different than choosing a shit character. Yes, one is an in game handicap and one is out of game, but both are self imposed.
If you ask somebody to throw rocks at you while you play you can’t point to the rock throwing as an excuse when you lose, because you choose to have it done.
If somebody just randomly started throwing rocks while you were playing then it is a valid excuse as it was something beyond your control.
Bgs to Donaces, he’s good at A3, but a big headed prick; we lagged out after my fifth loss and he pm’s me calling me a pussy and all this crap just cause we lagged out and I guess I caused it.
BGs to everyone who switches to sean, because they know they are going to lose anyway, and they think if they switch to sean that they only lost, because it is sean.
BGs SaDo. The game is laggy from the start, and he wins the first round and taunts. (So I ask him not to, and he makes some quip about me being a “Fucking referee”) So the random spikes continue, and on the third match after he’s lost twice straight, it lags after he gets a cr.hp (with urien) so he stops, accuses me of lag abuse and leaves.
