I’m going to be starting a contest at the Big Two tourney on March 28th, 2012 and I’m going to be raffling off a dual modded MLG TE stick (done and customized by me personally as prize) to start donation drive as means of gathering funds for these cabinets. It will be featured on stream with Team Spooky on March 28th 2012 and donations requests will last for a week before a winner is selected. More details to come soon!
If you guys can, these candy cabinets will be contributed towards the community in New York City and East Coast, and they will be put in a loving and caring home by the players in Next Level. Much of the old games such as Super Turbo, Vamp Savior, many CPS2, Neo Geo games will be played on these machines and these games will eventually be streamed. Please help us out and revive the old days and preserve the arcade culture!

Is anyone who is down with 3s going to be there this Saturday? Im passing through on my way to Long Island and I would love to finally get some offline games in.
What time do ppl show up to play? 1st time in NY so idk when ppl show up to play AE or if ppl even show up for it anymore
I’m a total scrub. I want to get into the FG scene here in NYC. I guess I’m a little intimidated, being new to the whole FGC and all. Anything I should keep in mind when I go there for my first time(not sure when)? I want to get to know people to play with so I can just get better overall.
Late afternoon/early evening on tournament days/Fridays. Not sure about other days to be honest.
Hmm, that’s kind of a big question… are you more worried about just getting bitchslapped in your game(s) of choice or are you worried about getting caught up in something like this:

Short answer - most people will be nice to you if you are nice to them, but realize many of the other people have been playing games together for years and are more interested in hanging out with their close friends than making sure new people feel welcome and are all up to date on the latest tricks they’ve learned or whatever.
You should definitely go for it, though - your first experience might be amazing, but if you get bodied and don’t make any friends the first time you go to NL or a tournament or CF (?!?!), keep going, and eventually you will not get bodied, and you will find yourself amongst friends.
good answer, Fuck it, i know I’m going to get bodied anyway but it’s all a part of learning.

Yes and yes. You can bring your own console and hook it up to a TV with permission, if you want people to play other games.

Thursday- Saturday are still good days to go. Try to see if there are any events on the way. Hopefully there will be. I have been looking for a skillionare but i suck at finding shit.
