Alright, next person that complains about the rules gets an infraction.

Yeah, SRK’s traffic is going to take a huuuge hit just because they won’t let 09ers sell. Nevermind the fact that traffic was fine before 2009 or that most of the 09 traffic is here for SFIV anyway and not for TO (probably because new members would be more comfortable buying from eBay/GameStop/another website than from SRK members they don’t know)…

It’s not like I agree with all of the site’s rules, but the reason 09 users can’t sell in the trading outlet is very simple. New users could easily rip off others, and have done so in the past. Even a Premium user could scam people - it only costs $3 to become a Premium. It sucks when bad apples ruin things for everyone else, but that’s just how life works.

GShady the reason why the rule was implemented wasn’t because some one new to the community bought 1k worth of parts from a dealer such as LL or Aki. It was done to prevent scamming. Some one could say they have this this and this, you send payment to a fake account and they’re gone. Simple as that.
The reason why you have to stay here for a prolonged period of time is to show that you’re an active member of the community and you are indeed trustworthy to sell merchandise.
Besides, most people who buy in bulk are people who build custom sticks. Not some one new to the community who just joined because the release of SFIV. If they already knew of LL and Aki, chances are they would have been on SRK ages ago and would already be able to sell said products.
Again, it’s to prevent people from getting scammed. Not to prevent another source for selling quality parts for operating here. Besides, if they were really interested in selling what they had, chances are they’d wait it out and contribute to the community in other ways.
yeah whatever …but i get your point…But due to other old members that experienced ripping off from other people, mods made the rule to maybe lessen the chances of people getting ripped off. One thing is the person who gets fucked blames the other person AND the community. Well atleast get to know the new members for awhile to build trust…

It only takes one bad seed to ruin something for the rest. It’s for that reason that the new members who actually want to contribute will have to tough it out. Even if the hype my die down for SFIV during those 6 months, doesn’t mean demand for custom sticks and parts is going to die down.
The primary reason LL and Aki are backed up is because they couldn’t have for saw the demand on parts the game was going to cause. I’m sure they had an idea, but not to the extent it was. They will always have business as well as custom stick builders will.
Therefore, by limiting the new members, they are protecting their current members from being scammed out of their money. Essentially, they’re putting the people who’ve been here for ages ahead of people who just joined because of SFIV. It really is a logical response to all this.
There is a bit of hostility and resentment towards 09’ user (sometimes for understandable reasons ie: 09’ users making pointless threads or asking questions that are already answered thoroughly in other threads)
No idea what kind of community you come from, but from my experience you have to make your dues when you’re a new comer to a community. I hardly ever experience a “neighbors bake you a cake or cookies and welcome you to the community” type of experience unless it’s a church or an institution that I paid to join.
My point is, I still can’t believe you’re still questioning the 09’ trading outlet rules even AFTER Valaris said not to complain about them anymore.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again from my point of view regarding this rule… I buy/sell a lot on this forum and so far have had nothing but great transactions. I’d rather not have this changed and if that means not allowing 09’ users to sell than so be it. I’m sure a lot of other people feel the same way.
If you’re that desperate to sell something go on eBay or craigslist but don’t bother trying to sell here because THOSE ARE THE RULES. Simple.

It wasn’t his decision, it was the admins decision. All the rules of 09 were generally updated by the admin group. In the case of the TO, the rule of 09’s can’t sell were the admins idea. My guess would be that they wanted to try to cut down on all the scams that happened last year, but again I’ve already pointed this out time and time before.

How did you come up with that conclusion? Do you think mods are sitting here all day with nothing to do at all? See I fucking lol at this, I have a job and I go to school so what do you have to say now? I go to work and don’t get home until the next day, so gfto outta here with this shit.
What you don’t understand is that, again, the admins made the rule and he is enforcing them. If you really wanted to know I wanted to say that very same thing long ago, because it does get tiresome repeating the same things over and over.
With more new members comes more server flux. More time and money is spent to improve the servers from crashing like it was way back. It’s easy to understand that you are ignored by the rules here, and you really don’t even have to use the TO if it’s that much of a bother to you.
See all the 09s I’ve talked to didn’t go about this like you are. They asked a question, and they understood the outcome. It’s in the forums rules also so if they wanna still sell then talk to Wiz or somebody.

Anywho, I can completely understand why a rule like this exists. And especially why you can’t simply “buy” the right to sell. If an 09’er paid a few bucks for a premium membership, and turn around and charge someone a couple hundred for a stick he doesnt have, then just swipe the cash and leave.
I used to trade cards for a TCG on another forum, and basically every successful trade gave you a point. and whoever had fewer points, would send their stuff out first. It’s part of being a new member, and it seems no different here (except the items in question are worth a bit more)

Regardless of who’s here and what year joined, I think that people here should just have common sense and some knowledge read from forum policies when posting in the forums before they make a fool of themselves. I know I goofed up previously.
