22. To use the trading outlet (sell or trade) you have to be with the site for at least 6 months, and have 50 posts. Failure to meet the requirement will result in a infraction or ban.

09 members are allowed to purchase from users in the trading outlet but aren’t allowed to sell before they reach the previously agreed 6months+100 posts rule.

It seems some 09 are trying to sell their stuff through PM’s rather than make a thread.

Don’t buy from these people. Just send their name to Fir/MMDS/Valaris and we’ll take care of it.

I know there’s no way for us to prevent that right now but do you really want to buy from a new guy who has 5 posts?

Since the rule was just added I will say it’s for 09 and on. I think they are letting us decide that one, since there’s another mod in here if he says no then it’s completely in effect for every year. If an admin post otherwise then it can’t be helped, sorry.

Checking for post counts now would be a hassle if it was done the other way, remember the user must also have 100+ post. Starting from 09 and onward sounds reasonable enough to me.

Also, 100 posts is MANDATORY. I will like to make it more, but 100 is good for now, we will see how many people spam.

EDIT: A big thing that people are still doing is not putting shipping costs on what they sell and then when I want it, it goes up like $20. Fir, what do you think? Should we enforce that rule more or let them decide how much shipping costs after they find out where they have to ship it?

When I sell stuff, i just put 1 flat rate shipping costs if they live down the street from me or across the country. I thought that was standard. I have been very nice about not infractioning people and just PMing them, but in 09, we might get stricter so people start following rules better.

Flat rate is wack. It forces the seller to either take a loss if the recipient lives far, or inflate the cost which is much worse.

International shipping is what kills me usually. In my last thread I ended up undercharging for shipping by a bit.

it actually wont let you create a post in this forum if you have under 100 posts. so that much is automatic, the join date i couldnt automate, so the mods will have to be on the lookout.

Well, the rules do state that a price must include shipping to the US. I’m just sick of the recent trend of paying extra just for shipping when the dude is from SoCal and I’m all the way here in Texas. If he was that much worried about having enough to ship something as small as a game…

The point to all of this is that I think that the posts should be read carefully and the shipping rule should be enforced a lot more than it should be.

The rule has always been that you must include a shipping cost whenever you wanna sell something, I’ve had to ask also but it hasn’t bothered me enough to enforce. Rule is a rule though so the more people do it the better.

So, an RL buddy of mine wants to get someone to make him a custom stick here in the Trading Outlet, but he is about 20 posts short of the 100 post requirement.

Would I have to act as proxy for him for the entire transaction (if that’s even allowed) or can I just say “PM xxxxx if you’re interested or post in the xxxxx thread”?

If he’s just 20 post away then he should probably wait until he gets 100, I get the feeling doing it that way would cause somewhat confusion. Nothing major in particular, but transactions are a personal matter. It should be done by both actual parties just in case something goes wrong.

Wow. So even though I’ve repeatedly bought from sellers and have made it a point to be very communicative and pay promptly every time, since I have less than 100 posts I have to spam it up a bit or my money’s no good. ggs.

like i told the other guy this is for the year 2009 and onward, that’s how you are probably still able to pass MrWizard’s spam block (not saying you’re a bot or anything)

I’m trying to figure out if it is okay for me to make a thread in here. Ive been a member since august 08 but don’t have many posts. I have been trying to post more lately though.

The forum was suppose to reject an user with less than 100 post, but we agreed that this would be for 09 and Onward

So…

  1. Anybody caught with an 09 join date (and onward) gets closed without the required 6 month waiting period. If that person joined in say June 09, they still have wait six months.

  2. Even with the required six month wait, the user must have 100 post. Again, 09 and onward. If you are 08, you aren’t affected.

If the mods still see bots with older dates, they still get the usual bannation.
