NEW Up to Date Rules: Updated April 18th 2011

Thanks…Nice and easy to understand:wgrin:

Didn’t think I would have to make this an official rule, but people are abusing it.

BUMPING/PRICE DROP
Like the rule says, do not bump unless you are dropping price. If no one wants it, move on. The rule now is a minimum of 5% drop. I noticed a lot of people are bumping and trying to get around the rule by dropping it $1 or even less sometimes. MODS CAN READ THE EDITS!!!

I think 5% is reasonable. I wanted to make it 10% but it might seem like a lot to some people.

THIS IS YOUR WARNING, YOU WILL GET INFRACTIONS.

I am kind of confuse??? New member from 09 needs 100 post and being with SRK for 6 month before selling. I join in November so do I need to wait 6 months and 100 post??? Also, how do I check my status??? Where can I find the rules as well??? Can someone help me??? 0_0

you’re 08 so it doesn’t effect you.

Updated the post on the 09 member rule.

Just a quick note: I’m not helping moderate the forum, I also happen to have no life and am on here during most of my work day. If you have any questions feel free to pm/IM me on msn.

I’m thinking of selling something soon but I want to know how I should respond to offers. For example, lets say I list an item as $100, and I get three purchase replies. Do I offer the first responder the chance to PayPal me? If so, how long should I wait before asking the next guy? Or should I ask all three if they want to duke it out round-robin style?

I just want to be sure of how to handle this before I actually sell something.

its always first come first serve. I usually give 3 days.

Thanks for the quick response.

EDIT: One more thing. What type purchase response has more precedence: A reply in the thread or a private message? Or do I just choose one from the get-go and write it in the listing?

Just check which came first: the PM or the reply.

Hi, I’m new to selling actual items and I need to know about : shipping, how to treat the buyer, how informative I should be with the buyer once he/she decides to buy what I am selling, who or where do I go to to ship my items, where to get packaging supplies(Boxes, Styrofoam, Bubblewrap), shipping costs, what type of packaging to use depending on the weight/size of item. Basically how does the whole process work?

I’m familiar already on how the BIN, Reserve prices work and being very descriptive on what you are selling and etc. due to me playing alot of MMORPG’s. So yeah if someone can send me a link that is very descriptive about how it works then please reply about. I would really appreciate it. Or if you want, then reply back with a very descriptive answer or PM me.

Thanks.

Oh, and if the mod in charge of this trading forum ever reads this, I’m just going to suggest that you create a thread about it just in case new sellers ask the same question.

Thanks you again. Sorry for asking a load of question about this. I just have a lot of stuff to sell like my XBOX 360 - Guitar Hero World Tour Bundle I hardly ever use, couple of Wii games and a Soulcalibur 4 Limited Edition Hori Fight Stick with no main PCB and Buttons (only the joystick is left inside.)

None of that really matters for now. 09 aren’t allowed to sell for the first six months. You can try again in 6 months.

Oh I see, I must have missed that part when I read the first post sorry. Well, do you think you can help me out still, regardless of my inability to sell in this forum please?

If not, I’ll still wait for an answer.

Thank you.

I’m looking quickly over your questions and it’s basically a question of preference. I mean if the seller wants the seventeen layers of bubble wrap he can pay for it. Of course you’re expected to provide enough protection on the protection for the contents not to be broken.
Whether you choose UPS or FedEx is your choice really.

Where in Santa Clarita do you live?

Canyon Country

hey i got a question

i know that selling it not an option, what about trading? is that cool?

In my opinion if 09’ users are not allowed to sell they should NOT be able to trade as well since both options have a lot of risk and uncertainty on behalf of the person dealing with the 09’ user (Credibility, risk of being scammed)

I get what you’re saying, but why not just require the 09 user to send first? That would be the same principle as allowing them to buy.

Would I be able to put a post up saying I’m selling an item but linking it to my Ebay auction of the same item? I’ve been on Ebay for a while with 100% reliability.

The auction’s up (more like a “Buy it now”)…

Edit #3: Ugh… I think I should of put the price for more… The Buy it Now ended roughly 20 minutes after I put it because someone bought it. Sold for 62$ (including shipping). I even had another offer somwhere else for 73$ but before I could cancel the Buy it Now someone had already bought it… People are really wanting to get JLFs and OBSFs now, huh.
