I’m not sure if I understood your question right but 09 members are completely allowed to buy. Buying requires you to send the money first so there’s much less chance of the seller getting ripped off.

IMO, you gotta “earn your wings” first. No trading or selling until you’ve earned the right too.
That means no eBay or Craigslist.org links either. Those who do should get a week ban + infract, IMO. Just the fact that the link can be provided and not deleted in time could still get enough people to see it to sell, and I dont think thats right, so the punishment should be more severe.
If you’re referring to me… I never put a link in any of my edits to the auction. But maybe just saying that I had put Sanwa parts on Ebay here had made people check and find mine…? I dunno, how would they even know it was me (not same email or username).

Well it’s good to have these rules. As someone who had previously violated a former one, I didn’t take the time to educate myself on the rules of the site. Upon reading, all of this shit just makes sense really. You just want to protect the users and the community as a whole.

I agree with what you are saying. There is a way around this. If you are a new member, take pictures of what you are trading in the box that you are shipping it in and get a tracking number. Then send the picture and the tracking number to the person you are trading with. ( similar to how akihabarashop does it ) If you’re trading with someone that has more credibility than yourself in the forums, expect to send your items first. Then upon arrival, the other person can send out their stuff. Therefore you build a reputation that you can be trusted. I know it’s a sick, sad world out there, but I believe that most people are just trying to be honest with one another and not trying to rip each other off.

When it comes to using the Trading Outlet to sell/trade new users ARE different than older members because they have no credibility and older members run the risk of being scammed.
Plain and simple.
I’ve bought/sold numerous times on this forum without any problems and I’d like it to stay this way. If that means not allowing new 09’ members to sell than so be it.
Yeah, I got it, thanks. I just don’t see why Dec. 08 would be good to go, but an Jan. 09 for example is somehow less trustworthy.

Just a small question considering this would be the right thread to ask it. If I start a thread wanting to buy something, is it okay to list a price I’m willing to buy for? For example, if I want to buy a tournament edition fightstick, is it okay for me to say I’ll take no more than $150 shipped? I haven’t seen any rules saying that I can’t, but I’m only asking this question out of common courtesy for others as I don’t want to start out my experience on this fourm sounding like a greedy cheapskate/troll.
Anyways, I hope to have a good time on this forum and I’m glad that I’m allowed to buy at all right now. I’ll gladly wait out the six months for selling/trading stuff in the interest of building a reputation on these forums.
Yes, you’re allowed to make a thread saying you want to buy and have to specify the price range.
