NEW Up to Date Rules: Updated April 18th 2011

Thanks!

I hate tattle-tailing but like it even less when it seems like there’s a separate rules for “us” and "them."
I don’t like it when “them” behaves like the rules don’t apply to them.
It’s nice to have consistency and have everybody operate under the same rules. All I’m asking is a fair shake.

I know I screw up, too!

Are we allowed to post ebay listings?

From what I’ve read, yes, with the following conditions.

Thread title must indicate, "On ebay"
You must have been a member for 6 or more months and have 50 or more posts.
Not be on the scammer’s list.

2011 Member FAQ

Following this, December join dates are eligible in May.

I joined on December 13th, does this mean my 6 months were up on this month on May 13th? I know it sounds idiotic to ask such a simple question, but technically only 5 periods of 30 days (or 28 or 31) have passed since I joined, making my join date 5 months ago, not 6.

I’d like to take part in the trading outlet, but I’d also like to respect the rules. Can someone clear this up for me?

we consider the month you joined, dec-may is correct. You can start selling on may.

Any reason my service thread is now moderated?

Any clue on how feedback will work now? So people can deal with trusted members?

I approved your thread. I’m not sure why it went moderated.

That’s a very good question. I’m not sure if this is itrader supported, we’ll have to see if the feedback system can be restablished. The problem with doing that though is that people who orginally worked hard to have high feedback could have it all deleted when it’s said and done.

there you have it.

Stupid question probably but I’m curious. With the recent forum upgrade, my post-count still reflects that I’ve made the posts (I have two prior and this will be post #35) but when I go to my profile, I can’t find any of them before post #33, which I made after the upgrade. I would assume the threads were thrown out in the transition, since I can’t find them via the search function either.

Now let’s say I hypothetically hit post #50 and decide I want to sell some stuff. If a moderator checks my profile to see if I’ve been spamming for whatever reason and sees my profile’s missing 32 of the prerequisite 50 posts, would I still be given the benefit of the doubt and credited based on the numbers in my profile or should I have to start over from the beginning as if I’m a brand new member to prevent any potential skepticism from possible troubles this discrepancy could point to, e.g. forum glitching due to the upgrades or 1337 haxxorzing skills acquired while training under the technological mountain of information in tech-talk?

On the one hand as I’ve been a member since August 2010, I would’ve done what was asked of me thussofar but on the other, the system’s designed in such a way as to ensure SKRers that person selling is a trustworthy individual and I effectively have no recorded posts to serve as evidence that backs up my profile data. Earned trust and red-lights such as this don’t mix very well in my opinion to be honest.

We cannot control how xenforo upgrade changes affect people’s profiles, if we had a way to check your history prior to the upgrade we can make a more fitting determination from there to now. We simply have to go along by what we see, in meaning getting to #50 from #35 without the ordeal of spamming.

It’s very easy to tell who tried to spam their way up to #50 just to use the TO.

So the Fifty Post thing did not carry to the new SRK.
This guy with only five Posts before he made Thread, was able to.

The rule’s still in force.

The mods just have to be aware of what’s going on or informed of infractions by people by who won’t read the rules.
The sheer willfulness of some people never ceases to amaze me! Even AFTER they’ve been warned NICELY they go on like the rules don’t apply to them, too.

I don’t like tattle-taling but at the same time don’t appreciate it when people break the rules that I was told I had to follow back in 2009, either!

People HAVE been warned but they go ahead and start these threads anyway even though they don’t meet both the 6-month and 50 post minimums.

I’ve seen 2 people break the rules in the past week when I’ve just casually looked on the Trading Outlet. I’m sure at least a half-dozen or more people have broken the rules during that time even though there’s no misunderstanding what’s written in black-and-white…

I know the rule is still to be taken.
I’m saying that the coding did not carry over to the new SRK.

You don’t like tattle tale.
But if I took the request for me to become Moderator of Tech Talk, people would hate SRK for dick.

Another seller trying to make a new thread only 17 posts. http://www.shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?threads/wts-ps3-madcatz-se-w-vewlix-layout.137723/

edit: Seems someone made a transaction as well. with 17 posts.

Also, is it jjust me or are the post counts for “new members” all 17.

Question- I had an account from way back, but it’s no longer here. Were accounts deleted at some point? I have emails dating back to 2005 of replies to posts of mine. I had to recreate my account, so now I can’t sell anything?

I think inactive accounts turned into guest accounts.

Damn- so do I need 100 posts AND 6 months, or just one or the other?

You need both, but I think only 50 posts unless the rules got updated.

for future reference- how long does it take to get your profile deleted if you don’t post? It sucks being a long time member and getting punished for inactivity :frowning:

Guys, if ever you see another one like that, please use the report button. It actually works now and it’s the quickest way for one of us to attend to the problem. Your help is much appreciated.
