This is very true, which is why I think it’s important to run a point character who gets good mileage off of meterless resets, or still builds meter really well like Zero. That’s just in general, but I think it’s damn near necessary if you’re planning on running Hsien second for gold armor DHCs. But to each his own.
First, glad to see someone running the same vanilla team, haha. Second, do you ever try to incorporate the strategy of scoring a hard knockdown with Hsien-Ko, doing Rimoukon and DHCing into Gamma Tsunami? I go for this a lot and it works out well since it’s so safe.
And hey, let me know if you want to do mirror matches on XBL sometime.
That’s a big reason why I liked running Spencer on point, and look forward to using Nemesis there too. Neither of them are very meter-dependent for damage (they like it for sure, though), and as long as they can build a bar for the DHC, that’s fine with me.
He actually says that to everyone, though I thought it was going to be specific to Hsien-Ko, Dante, Vergil, and Spidey. If that were true, then Ghost Rider would be a gigantic penis.
Nah I never really tried to do that. Since Hulk is in first for me he’ll be the one dhcing into Hsien-ko after a hard knockdown. If you’re running her on point that sounds like a viable strat, to get Hulk in. And yeah we can have some matches if you want, just don’t expect too much from me, I’m pretty free lol. I’ve been using Hsien-Ko on point for my Iron Fist/Arthur team, and I’m still not sure if I should have her there because of the risks but at the same time, I only want Iron Fist with hyper armor assist helping him and keep Arthur as anchor, so I always thought that the simple Gong Rimouken then tag out would be the best way if I get an opportunity.
ah okay that’s more of what i was looking for, how do you handle teleport characters though because buckler can’t help you and neither can the harmonizer, my biggest issue with her is defensively there are too many things she can’t deal with
which in part is probably more my bad defense then the characters but anyone that can get behind her i don’t know what to do besides head for the corner or guess when it’s coming and jump forward to avoid high/lows
see to me that sounds like your using her first to get gold and have iron fist play point
and yeah i would do the gong hard tag if i know they aren’t looking for it or land a combo and rimouken up and hard tag out because the fist hypers are so unsafe
Yea, that’s my plan if I have the right opportunity to do it. I could try Iron Fist on point but I can’t see a situation where I can get Hsien-Ko armored then switch back to Iron Fist unless he manages to kill someone to do the setup safely.
So I found this in the GD thread. I asked the guy if it was okay to post this because it’s his discovery, but I realized how silly that sounded, so here it is:
Have you had this happen to you, LL.ND/other Chris/Ko players?
This happened to me before just recently. I activated gold armor and DHC’d right as I was getting hit by a jumping attack by the opponent’s viper. I DHC’d into Dancing Flash, but Hsien-Ko stayed midair and did Cheiritou, and stayed on the screen. Unfortunately she was vulnerable and got attacked and killed before she could fall down and leave. Weird.
That sounds like a pretty egregious glitch to leave in, seeing as how it’s her signature thing. You’d think the test team would’ve caught that, even if it is her. Hopefully someone can capture a video and post it up.
Hell, with that much time, you could wavedash to the other side of the screen, tag Hsien in, gold armor and tag Iron Fist back in. Saves meter at least.
I had the floating hsien-ko glitch happen when trying to DHC from gold armor to bionic arm. When bionic arm came out, so did the ball drop hyper, then hsien-ko was stuck in mid-air. I was able to call her for an assist, so she got out of there before she was hit. I tried to reproduce it, but had no luck. It probably does have something to do with being hit while armored.
Something really weird happened last night during casuals. With only hsien-ko and ammy left, I was trying to armor up and dhc into okami shuffle, but before I could even input qcf+LM for the shuffle the hyper freeze cinematic canceled itself into a thc with h-ko doing chireitou and ammy doing shuffle… with only two bars. I didn’t even touch both assist buttons to activate the thc and how could you do it anyways during the cinematic? The good thing is that I still got armored h-ko and a thc for only two bars… maybe there is something to exploit with gold armor?
Disregard that last post, I found out how to do it. Pretty much you get hit just as you activate your armor and then dhc into whatever hyper and then a thc will occur with h-ko floating in mid-air performing chireitou. This will actually take 3 bars and suspend h-ko in mid-air, vulnerable to attacks. The only weird part now is that the one time it happened during casuals h-ko wasn’t floating, or maybe I wasn’t paying attention.
Edit: Once the glitch happens, you do a 2 character thc regardless if you still have 3 characters alive and your partner is tagged. You can’t do anything with h-ko while she is stuck in mid-air until she drops out and leaves after a few seconds. So yeah, this is not cool. :arazz:
Even though you have two characters performing hypers at the same time, the game doesn’t recognize it as a thc(or crossover combination) and so the appropriate blue spacy background doesn’t appear.
Also, if you dhc with a qcb hyper then h-ko will do tenraiha instead, but will still be floating and during the hyper freeze animation you’ll see that troll-y face she did in another glitch. the glitch won’t happen if you try to dhc into a dp hyper. Darn… could’ve seen something interesting.
Hmm, this is doing some interesting things with cinematic hypers…
Hmm, so do the blades come out like they normally would? I can’t think of any practical applications for this because it uses up a third bar, though it’s kind of cool/weird I guess. Not so cool if she’s left vulnerable.
Yeah she is totally vulnerable. Any positive benefits that could be exploited by using this glitch are offset by the potential for her to get blasted by a beam hyper or something.
